Description
本発明は、パネル間(例えば同種又は異種の材料のパネル)のヘムフランジ接続部を接合して封止するための構造用接着フィルムの使用に関する。本発明はまた、部品を接合して封止する方法に関する。
車両(例えば、自動車、航空機、船など)の接合部、例えば金属接合部は、接着剤を使用して形成することができる。例えば、金属パネル(例えば、ルーフパネル)を車両の支持構造体又はシャーシに接合するために接着剤を使用することができる。更に、接着剤は、車両密閉パネルアセンブリの2つの金属パネルを接合する際に使用され得る。車両密閉パネルアセンブリは、典型的には、外側金属パネル及び内側金属パネルのアセンブリを備え、それによって、内側のパネルの縁部上に外側パネルの縁部を折り畳むことによってヘム構造が形成される。一般的には、それらの間に接着剤が供給されてパネルを互いに接合する。更に、十分な腐食保護を提供するために、一般的には金属パネルの接合部にシーラントを適用する必要がある。例えば、米国特許第6,000,118号は、2つのパネル(例えば、ドア)の対向面間の流動性シーラントビード、及び外側パネル上のフランジと内側パネルの露出面との間の未硬化塗料様樹脂の薄膜の使用を開示している。塗料様フィルムは、完成したパネルアセンブリ(例えば、ドア)上で行われるベーキング操作によって固体不浸透状態に硬化される。米国特許第6,368,008号は、互いに接合部を形成する2つの金属パネルを固定するための接着剤の使用を開示している。接合部の縁部は、金属コーティングによって更に封止される。国際公開第2009/071269号には、ヘムフランジ用のシーラントとしての膨張可能なエポキシペースト接着剤が開示されている。更なる縁曲げ構造が米国特許第6,528,176号に開示されている。
当技術分野で以前に開示された接着剤組成物及び接着剤系に関連し得るいかなる技術的利点も争うことなく、例えば形状安定性、柔軟性、堅牢性及び未硬化状態での処理特性、並びに硬化後の優れた接合性及び密封性などの卓越した物理的特性のうちの任意の1つ又は組み合わせを示す高性能構造用接着フィルムが依然として必要とされている。
a.第1の金属パネル及び第2の金属パネルを準備する工程。
b.少なくとも1つの接着剤層と、
多孔性構造を有する少なくとも1つの層と、を含む構造用接着フィルムを準備する工程であって、
接着剤層は、エポキシ化合物並びにエポキシ硬化剤を含む、工程。
c.構造用接着フィルムを第1のパネル又は第2のパネルのいずれかのフランジ部分に適用する工程。
d.第1のパネル又は第2のパネルのいずれかを、対応する他方の金属パネルのフランジ部分の上に曲げ、それによって、構造用接着フィルムを2つのパネルの間に配置し、内側のパネルのフランジ部分を覆う工程。
e.構造用接着フィルムの活性化温度より高温でパネルアセンブリを加熱する工程。
試験方法
本発明は、例えば金属パネルなどのパネル間のヘムフランジ接続部を接合して封止するための構造用接着フィルムの使用に関する。自動車製造に対する1つの重要な判定規準は、2つのパネルを接合した後、かつ、構造用接着フィルムを硬化させた後のフィルムの視覚的外観である。
Claims (15)
- 構造用接着フィルムの使用であって、前記構造用接着フィルムは、パネル間のヘムフランジ接続部を接合して封止するためのものであり、
少なくとも1つの接着剤層と、
多孔性構造を有する少なくとも1つの層と、を含み、
前記接着剤層は、エポキシ化合物並びにエポキシ硬化剤を含む、構造用接着フィルムの使用。 - 前記少なくとも1つの接着剤層は、エポキシ化合物と、エポキシ硬化剤と、熱可塑性樹脂と、任意選択的に強靭化剤と、を含む、請求項1に記載の構造用接着フィルムの使用。
- 前記少なくとも1つの接着剤層は、エポキシ化合物と、熱可塑性樹脂と、エポキシ硬化剤と、更に、少なくとも1つのエポキシ部分及び少なくとも1つの直鎖若しくは分岐アルキル基を含む少なくとも1つの成分及び/又は少なくとも1つの鉱物充填剤と、を含み、前記少なくとも1つの鉱物充填剤は水を吸収することができる、請求項1又は2に記載の構造用接着フィルムの使用。
- 前記少なくとも1つの接着剤層は、エポキシ化合物と、エポキシ硬化剤と、アクリル系ポリマーと、を含む、請求項1に記載の構造用接着フィルムの使用。
- 前記少なくとも1つの接着剤層は、強靭化剤及び/又は発泡剤を更に含む、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の構造用接着フィルムの使用。
- 前記多孔質層は、織布又は編物又は不織布から選択される、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の構造用接着フィルムの使用。
- 前記多孔質層は、スパンレース布地又は水流交絡布地である、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の構造用接着フィルムの使用。
- 前記多孔質層は、綿、ガラス、ポリエステル、ポリアミド、ポリプロピレン、カーバイド又はアラミド繊維又は金属又はそれらの組み合わせに由来するものである、請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の構造用接着フィルムの使用。
- 前記多孔質層は、0.05〜0.6mmの範囲内の厚さを備える、請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の構造用接着フィルムの使用。
- 前記多孔質層は、5〜200g/m2、好ましくは30〜100g/m2の範囲内の面積重量を備える、請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の構造用接着フィルムの使用。
- 前記多孔質層は、ISO 139,2nd edition,2005−01−15に従って測定された1000〜7000L/m2/sの範囲内の気孔率を備える、請求項1〜10のいずれか一項に記載の構造用接着フィルムの使用。
- 未硬化の前記フィルムにおいて、前記接着剤層は、前記多孔質層の片面又は両面に配置されている、請求項1〜11のいずれか一項に記載の構造用接着フィルムの使用。
- 未硬化の前記フィルムにおいて、前記多孔質層は前記接着剤層の全幅に沿って延びているか、又は前記接着剤層の幅は前記多孔質層の幅よりも大きい、請求項1〜12のいずれか一項に記載の構造用接着フィルムの使用。
- 未硬化の前記フィルムにおいて、前記接着剤層は、前記多孔質層の片面に配置された2つの部分に分割されている、請求項1〜13のいずれか一項に記載の構造用接着フィルムの使用。
- パネルを接合して封止する方法であって、
第1の金属パネル及び第2の金属パネルを準備する工程と、
少なくとも1つの接着剤層と、多孔性構造を有する少なくとも1つの層と、を含む構造用接着フィルムを準備する工程であって、前記接着剤層は、エポキシ化合物並びにエポキシ硬化剤を含む、工程と、
前記構造用接着フィルムを前記第1のパネル又は前記第2の金属パネルのいずれかのフランジ部分に適用する工程と、
前記第1の金属パネル又は前記第2の金属パネルのいずれかを、対応する他方のパネルの前記フランジ部分の上に曲げ、それによって、前記構造用接着フィルムを2つのパネルの間に配置し、内側のパネルの前記フランジ部分を覆う工程と、
前記構造用接着フィルムの活性化温度より高温でパネルアセンブリを加熱する工程と、を含む、方法。
