Abstract
Description
(1)交互層は、同じ厚さ及び同じ組成(例えば、鉄含有量)を有する。
(2)交互層は、同じ厚さを有するが、異なる組成を有する(例えば、層のうちの2つ以上が異なる鉄含有量を有する)。
(3)交互層は、異なる厚さを有し(例えば、層のうちの2つ以上が異なる厚さを有する)、異なる組成を有する。
(4)交互層は、それぞれ異なる厚さを有するが、複数の層が2つの異なる交互組成を含む(例えば、第1の層は第1の鉄含有量を有し、第2の層は第2の鉄含有量を有し、第3の層は第1の鉄含有量を有する(すなわち、第3の層は第1の層と同じ鉄含有量を有する)。
(5)交互層は、それぞれ同じ厚さを有するが、各層の各組成は、他の層の組成と異なる(傾斜合金組成)。
(6)交互層は、それぞれ異なる厚さを有し、各層の各組成は、他の層の組成及び厚さと異なる(これも傾斜合金組成である)。
(例えば、毎分約1ミクロンから毎分約2ミクロン)を促進する。少なくとも1つの態様では、基板上への金属の堆積率は、毎分約0.1ミクロンから毎分約10ミクロン(例えば、毎分1ミクロンから毎分約2ミクロン、例えば、毎分約1ミクロン、毎分約1.5ミクロン、毎分約2ミクロン)である。
以下の実施例で使用された鋼基板は、軟鋼、4130鋼、又は4340鋼基板であった。
化成コーティング、クロメートコーティングALODINE1200が、コーティングされた試料に配置され、CMMAコーティングが、これらの化成コーティングに対応した。不動態化された試料は、開路電位測定によって、腐食保護について試験され、(ASTM B117に従って)塩水噴霧チャンバ内で試験された。
開路電位は、鋼基板に堆積された本開示の亜鉛−鉄合金コーティングの腐食保護能力の定量的基準として使用された。コーティングの開路電位は、鋼に対して負であるべきである。これは、コーティングが鋼に対して犠牲的な保護をもたらすことを示す。開路電位は、腐食性媒体内の電気化学的酸化に対する材料の熱力学的傾向を示すパラメータである。これらの亜鉛−鉄合金コーティングの開路電位は、ASTM G82により、16日間にわたって、蒸留水及び3.5%NaCl溶液内で測定された。電気化学セルは、作用電極として、コーティングされた表面で作られ、カロメル電極は、基準電極として使用された。開路電位測定の間の温度は、約30℃で維持された。
ノッチを有するタイプ1a.1試験片を用いて、ASTM F519に従って、水素ぜい化(HE)試験が行われた。HE試験のために、コーティングが少しもない高強度鋼4340上のノッチに対して負荷がかけられ、3つのコーティングされていない試料に基づいて、平均的なノッチ破壊強度(NFS)が判断された。高強度鋼4340試料の平均的なNFSは、200時間にわたって3、953Kgであると判断された。ASTM F519の下では欠陥は見られなかった。
Claims (30)
- 電気めっきのための電解質溶液であって、
金属塩、
クエン酸アルカリ金属塩、
酢酸アルカリ金属塩、
クエン酸、及び
グリシン
を含む電解質溶液。 - 前記金属塩が、鉄塩及び亜鉛塩を含む、請求項1に記載の電解質溶液。
- 前記電解質溶液のpHが約3から約6である、請求項1又は2に記載の電解質溶液。
- 前記鉄塩が、硫酸鉄(II)、塩化鉄(II)、酢酸鉄(II)、及びこれらの水和物のうちの1つ又は複数を含む二価の鉄塩である、請求項2又は3に記載の電解質溶液。
- 前記鉄塩の濃度が、約0.07mol/Lから約0.35mol/Lである、請求項4に記載の電解質溶液。
- 前記亜鉛塩が、硫酸亜鉛(II)、塩化亜鉛(II)、酢酸亜鉛(II)、及びこれらの水和物のうちの1つ又は複数を含む二価の亜鉛塩である、請求項2から5のいずれか一項に記載の電解質溶液。
- 前記亜鉛塩の濃度が、約0.02mol/Lから約0.2mol/Lである、請求項6に記載の電解質溶液。
- 塩酸チアミン及びその水和物のうちの少なくとも1つをさらに含む、請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載の電解質溶液。
- 塩酸チアミン又はその水和物の濃度が、前記電解質溶液の約0.001mol/Lから約0.003mol/Lである、請求項8に記載の電解質溶液。
- 前記クエン酸アルカリ金属塩が、クエン酸三ナトリウム塩、クエン酸二ナトリウム塩、クエン酸一ナトリウム塩、クエン酸三カリウム塩、クエン酸二カリウム塩、クエン酸一カリウム塩、又はこれらの水和物のうちの1つ又は複数である、請求項1から9のいずれか一項に記載の電解質溶液。
- 前記クエン酸アルカリ金属塩の濃度が、約0.01mol/Lから約0.05mol/Lである、請求項10に記載の電解質溶液。
- 前記酢酸アルカリ金属塩が、酢酸ナトリウム塩又は酢酸カリウム塩、或いはこれらの水和物のうちの1つ又は複数である、請求項1から11のいずれか一項に記載の電解質溶液。
- 前記酢酸アルカリ金属塩の濃度が、約0.5mol/Lから約0.8mol/Lである、請求項12に記載の電解質溶液。
- クエン酸の濃度が、約0.05mol/Lから約0.5mol/Lである、請求項1から13のいずれか一項に記載の電解質溶液。
- グリシンの濃度が、約0.1mol/Lから約0.3mol/Lである、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の電解質溶液。
- 亜鉛−鉄合金を基板上に電着する方法であって、
亜鉛塩、鉄塩、クエン酸アルカリ金属塩、酢酸アルカリ金属塩、クエン酸、及びグリシンを含む電解質溶液内にカソード及びアノードを導入することと、
前記電解質溶液を通して前記カソードと前記アノードとの間に電流を通して、亜鉛及び鉄を含む層を前記カソード上に堆積することと
を含む方法。 - 塩酸チアミンをさらに含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記カソードが、鋼基板、銅基板、黄銅基板、ニッケル基板、銅被覆基板、又はニッケル被覆基板である、請求項16又は17に記載の方法。
- 前記アノードが、亜鉛材料、白金材料、白金めっきチタン材料、炭素質電極材料である、請求項16から18のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記電流が、約1mA/cm2から約200mA/cm2の電流密度を有する、請求項16から19のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記パルス電流が、一連のパルスであり、各パルスが、約20ミリ秒から約800ミリ秒の持続時間を有する、請求項20に記載の方法。
- 前記電流を通す間、前記電解質溶液の温度が、約20℃から約35℃の温度で維持される、請求項21に記載の方法。
- 第1の電流の電流密度と異なる電流密度を有する第2の電流を前記カソードと前記アノードとの間に通して、亜鉛及び鉄を含む第2の層を前記第1の電流によって堆積された前記第1の層上に堆積することをさらに含む、請求項16から22のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の電流の電流密度と同じ電流密度を有する第2の電流を前記カソードと前記アノードとの間に通して、亜鉛及び鉄を含む第2の層を前記第1の電流によって堆積された前記第1の層上に堆積することをさらに含む、請求項16から23のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 電流を前記カソードと前記アノードとの間に通すことを反復して、鉄含有量を有する複数の交互層を有するコーティングを形成することをさらに含み、前記電流が実質的に同じ持続期間を有し、前記層が、実質的に同じ厚さ及び実質的に同じ鉄含有量を有する、請求項24に記載の方法。
- 電流を前記カソードと前記アノードとの間に通すことを反復して、複数の交互層を有するコーティングを形成することをさらに含み、前記層が、実質的に同じ厚さを有し、前記層のうちの2つ以上が異なる鉄含有量を有する、請求項23から25のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
