融点および融解熱は、New Castle,DEのTA Instrumentsから入手可能な、Model Q2000示差走査熱量計を用いて、第2加熱走査において10℃/分の走査速度で、示差走査熱量測定法(DSC)によってASTM D3418に従って測定した。
MFR=27.788*MFRM+28.009
この相関は、以下のステップで開発した:(1)選択された組成物のMFRMを、190℃でおよび325gの荷重下に標準ダイを使用してASTM D1238の通り得た;(2)同じ選択された組成物のレオロジーを、キャピラリーレオメーター(Model LCR 7001、Akron,OHのAlpha Technologiesによって製造された)を用いて230℃で測定し、溶融粘度対剪断速度の関係をこの温度で求めた;(3)この関係を用いてASTM D1238標準ダイを使った230℃および2.16kg荷重でのMFRを推定した;(4)MFRMと推定MFRとの間の上記線形相関を、2つの異なる形態の測定を用いて同じ組成物について得られたデータの回帰分析に基づいて求めた。
グラフト反応は、プロピレン耐衝撃性コポリマー(耐衝撃性co−PP)を使って押出機で実施し、それは、有機過酸化物と溶融混合され、フリーラジカル反応によって1種もしくは複数種の反応性モノマーでグラフトされた。
共射出成形によって得られるPP*/EVOH/PP*構造物
構造PP*/EVOH/PP*(「PP*」表記法は、上に定義された通りである)を有する3層容器は、428 Newburyport Turnpike,Rowley,MA 01969,USAにある、Kortec,Inc.で共射出成形によって製造された。
インフレーションフィルム押出によって得られるPP/タイ/EVOH構造物
ポリプロピレン接着剤を、ホモ−PP(メルトフローレート3.5g/10分(230℃、2.16kg);密度0.9g/cm3)の層と、エチレンビニルアルコールコポリマー(Eval(登録商標)F171A、Houston,TXのKuraray America,Inc.から入手可能な)の層との間にタイ層として共押出した。接着剤は、約27rpmで運転される1.25インチ押出機で約225℃で溶融させた。ホモ−PPは、約45rpmで運転される1.25インチ押出機で約227℃で溶融させ、EVOHは、約34rpmで運転される1.25インチ押出機で約227℃で溶融させた。溶融体流れを、共押出ダイ(Brampton,OntarioのBrampton Engineering,Inc.から入手可能な)を通して供給して3層フィルムを形成した。フィルム形成の速度は約9m/分であり、各層の呼び厚さは、PP(50ミクロン)/タイ(13ミクロン)/EVOH(23ミクロン)であった。
二軸延伸ポリエステル基材(BOPET、23ミクロン厚さ、550mm幅)を先ず、約103W/(m2−分)のワット密度でその全幅にわたって4.5kWでのコロナ処理にかける。ポリエチレンイミンプライマー、Shelton,CTのMica Corporationから入手可能なMica A−131−Xを次に、300QCHクロムグラビアシリンダーと60ショア(Shore)−Aゴム補助ロールとを約80m/分のライン速度で用いる、グラビア印刷によってBOPETフィルムのコロナ処理側に塗布する。コートされたプライマー液を、110℃に設定されたゾーンを持った4メートル空気浮遊ドライヤーを用いてオンラインで乾燥させて1平方メートル当たり0.35乾燥グラムのプライマーコーティングを生成する。
Claims (15)
- 少なくとも1種のインパクトco−PPと少なくとも1種のランダムco−PPとの共グラフト化ブレンドを含むポリプロピレン組成物であって、前記インパクトco−PPおよび前記ランダムco−PPが、エチレン性不飽和カルボン酸およびエチレン性不飽和カルボン酸の誘導体からなる群から選択されるグラフト化モノマーで共グラフトされている組成物。
- 前記少なくとも1種のインパクトco−PPが、共グラフト化前の前記インパクトco−PPの総重量を基準として、約10重量%以上、好ましくは10〜25重量%のエチレンの共重合単位を含むか;または前記少なくとも1種のランダムco−PPが、共グラフト化前の前記ランダムco−PPの総重量を基準として、10重量%以下のエチレンの共重合単位を含む、請求項1に記載のポリプロピレン組成物。
- 前記共グラフト化ブレンドが、前記共グラフト化ブレンドの総重量を基準として、0.5重量%〜4重量%のグラフト化モノマー単位を含み;好ましくは、前記共グラフト化ブレンドの総重量を基準として、0.5重量%〜2.5重量%のグラフト化モノマー単位または1.2重量%〜1.65重量%のグラフト化モノマー単位を含む、請求項1または請求項2に記載のポリプロピレン組成物。
- 前記グラフト化モノマーが無水マレイン酸である、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載のポリプロピレン組成物。
- 325g荷重下、190℃でASTM D−1238に従って測定される、4.0〜32g/10分のメルトフローレートを有するか;または、2.16kg荷重下、230℃で、140〜900g/10分、好ましくは200〜600g/10分であると測定されるメルトフローレートを有する、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載のポリプロピレン組成物。
- グラフト化前の前記共グラフト化ブレンドの総重量を基準として、有限量60重量%以下の前記少なくとも1種のランダムco−PPと、少なくとも40重量%の前記少なくとも1種のインパクトco−PPとを含み、好ましくは20重量%〜50重量%の前記少なくとも1種のランダムco−PPと、50重量%〜80重量%の前記少なくとも1種のインパクトco−PPとを含む、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載のポリプロピレン組成物。
- 請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載のポリプロピレン組成物であって、ランダムco−PP、インパクトco−PP、およびホモポリプロピレンからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の非グラフト化ポリプロピレンとブレンドされ;任意選択的に、炭化水素エラストマー、スチレンコポリマー、エチレンアルファ−オレフィンコポリマー、およびプロピレンアルファ−オレフィンコポリマーからなる群から選択される1種もしくは複数種の弾性ポリマーとさらにブレンドされ;好ましくは前記炭化水素エラストマーが、エチレンプロピレンゴム、エチレンプロピレンジエンゴム、スチレン−ブタジエン熱可塑性ゴム、スチレン−イソプレン熱可塑性ゴム、ブチルゴム、およびポリイソブチレンからなる群から選択され;好ましくは前記ポリプロピレン組成物が、前記ポリプロピレン組成物の総重量を基準として、約60重量%〜約95重量%の少なくとも1種の非グラフト化ポリマー、または2種以上の非グラフト化コポリマーの組み合わせを含み、任意選択的に、30重量%以下の前記1種もしくは複数種の弾性ポリマーを含む組成物。
- 請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載のポリプロピレン組成物であって、少なくとも1種のさらなるグラフト化ランダムco−PP、少なくとも1種のさらなるグラフト化インパクトco−PP、少なくとも1種のグラフト化ホモポリプロピレン、またはそれらの2種以上の組み合わせとブレンドされ;好ましくは前記少なくとも1種のさらなるグラフト化ランダムco−PP、前記少なくとも1種のさらなるグラフト化インパクトco−PP、または前記少なくとも1種のグラフト化ホモポリプロピレンが、無水マレイン酸でグラフトされており;好ましくは前記ポリプロピレン組成物が、前記ポリプロピレン組成物の総重量を基準として、約5重量%〜約35重量%の前記共グラフト化ポリマーブレンドと、前記少なくとも1種のさらなるグラフト化ポリマーとを含む組成物。
- 請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載のポリプロピレン組成物を含む乾燥ブレンドまたは溶融ブレンド。
- 少なくとも1つの層を含む多層構造物であって、前記少なくとも1つの層が、請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載のポリプロピレン組成物を含み;好ましくは前記多層構造物が3層構造である多層構造物。
- 請求項10に記載の多層構造物であって、サブストラクチャー「PP*/B」または「PPタイ/B」を含み、ここで、前記記号「/」は隣接層を意味し、前記記号「B」は、バリア樹脂を含む少なくとも1つの層を含むバリア構造物を意味し、前記記号「PP*」は、前記ポリプロピレン組成物を含むバルク層を意味し、前記記号「PPタイ」は、前記ポリプロピレン組成物を含む接着剤層を意味し;好ましくは前記多層構造物が「PPタイ/B/PPタイ」、「PPタイ/B/タイ」、「PP*/B/PP*」、「PP*/B/PE*」、および「PPタイ/B/PEタイ」からなる群から選択されるサブストラクチャーを含み、ここで、前記記号「タイ」は、グラフト化インパクトco−PPまたは共グラフト化インパクトco−PPを含まない接着剤層を意味し;前記記号「PE*」は、ポリエチレンおよびエチレンコポリマーからなる群から選択されるエチレンポリマーと、無水物グラフト化ポリエチレンおよび無水物グラフト化ポリエチレンコポリマーからなる群から選択される無水物グラフト化ポリマーとを含むバルク層を意味し;前記記号「PEタイ」は、ポリエチレンと、無水物グラフト化ポリエチレンおよび無水物グラフト化ポリエチレンコポリマーからなる群から選択される無水物グラフト化ポリマーとを含む接着剤層を意味し;前記サブストラクチャー「PP*/B/PP*」中の前記2つのPP*層が、同じもしくは異なるものであり;前記サブストラクチャー「PPタイ/B/PPタイ」中の前記2つのPPタイ層が、同じもしくは異なるものである、多層構造物。
- 前記バリア樹脂が、EVOH、ポリアミド、またはEVOHとポリアミドとの組み合わせを含み;好ましくは前記バリア構造物が、サブストラクチャー「PA/EVOH/PA」(ここで、前記記号「EVOH」は、エチレンとビニルアルコールとのコポリマーを含む層を意味し、前記記号「PA」はポリアミドを含む層を意味する)を含む、請求項11に記載の多層構造物。
- 前記少なくとも1つの層が、配向フィルム;金属箔;ならびに織布もしくは不織布、網およびスクリムからなる群から選択される第2層に接着しており;任意選択的に前記第2層がケミカルプライマーでコートされている、請求項10、11および12のいずれか一項に記載の多層構造物。
- 請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載のポリプロピレン組成物を含む物品であって、前記物品が、インフレーションフィルム成形法、キャストフィルム法、キャストシート法、共押出コーティング法、共押出積層法、および共射出成形法からなる群から選択される方法によって製造され;前記共射出成形法が好ましくは共射出延伸ブロー成形法である物品。
- 請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載のポリプロピレン組成物の製造方法であって、前記方法が、インパクトco−PPおよびランダムco−PPを提供する工程と;前記インパクトco−PPを前記ランダムco−PPと溶融混合する工程と;エチレン性不飽和カルボン酸およびエチレン性不飽和カルボン酸の誘導体からなる群から選択されるグラフト化モノマーを添加する工程と、任意選択的に有機過酸化物を溶融混合物に添加する工程と;前記溶融混合物を、前記インパクトco−PPおよび前記ランダムco−PPをグラフト化モノマーで同時にグラフトするのに十分な時間十分な温度に維持する工程とを含み;ここで、前記エチレン性不飽和カルボン酸の誘導体は好ましくは無水マレイン酸であり;前記溶融混合物は好ましくは、二軸スクリュー押出機で形成およびグラフトされ;未反応グラフト化モノマーが任意選択的に真空抽出または溶媒抽出によって除去される方法。
