板紙試料上のコロナ処理した水性コーティングのヒートシールを調べた。試験される各試料について、2枚の1インチ角の板紙試験片をカットした。両方の板紙試験片を水性ポリマーでコーティングし、それぞれの水性コーティングの成分と量を第6表にまとめる。

- 前記第1の水性ポリマーコーティングがコロナ処理を用いて表面処理される、請求項29から33までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 第2のセルロース系基材を準備することをさらに含み、前記第2のセルロース系基材の少なくとも一部を半結晶性ポリマーでコーティングし、前記第1のセルロース系基材が底部を形成する場合に、前記第2のセルロース系基材が側壁を形成し、前記第1のセルロース系基材が側壁を形成する場合に、前記第2のセルロース系基材が底部を形成する、請求項26から33までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記半結晶性ポリマーが、低密度ポリエチレン、脂肪族芳香族ポリエステル、ナイロン、またはそれらの組み合わせを含む、請求項35記載の方法。
- 前記半結晶性ポリマーが低密度ポリエチレンホモポリマーまたは低密度ポリエチレンコポリマーを含む、請求項35または36記載の方法。
- 前記半結晶性ポリマーが極性官能基を有する、請求項35から37までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記第2のコーティングを、前記半結晶性ポリマーの融点温度を上回る温度で押出コーティングによって前記第2のセルロース系基材上にコーティングして、コーティングしたセルロース系基材を形成する、請求項35から38までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記半結晶性ポリマーが95℃よりも高い融点温度を有する、請求項35から39までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記第2のコーティングを、0.5ミル(1.3×10-2mm)〜2ミル(5×10-2mm)の厚さで前記第2のセルロース系基材上にコーティングする、請求項34から40までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記第2のコーティングが、0.65g/cm3〜1.1g/cm3の密度を有する、請求項35から41までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記第1のセルロース系基材が底部であり、かつ前記第2のセルロース系基材が側壁である、請求項35から42までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記第1のセルロース系基材が側壁であり、かつ前記第2のセルロース系基材が底部である、請求項34から42までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記コロナ処理を1〜4ワット/平方フィート/分で行う、請求項34から44までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
