請求項1に記載の圧電組成物。

[焼結体の作製]
Baのモル数、Tiのモル数、Biのモル数及びTiのモル数が互い等しくなるように、BaCO3の粉末、TiO2の粉末、Bi2O3の粉末及びFe2O3の粉末それぞれを秤量した。つまり、Baのモル数とTiのモル数との比が、ペロブスカイト型の結晶構造を形成する組成(BaTiO3)を満たすものとなるように、BaCO3及びTiO2それぞれを秤量した。またBiのモル数とFeのモル数との比が、ペロブスカイト型の結晶構造を形成する組成(BiFeO3)を満たすものとなるように、Bi2O3及びFe2O3それぞれを秤量した。続いて、BaCO3、TiO2、Bi2O3、Fe2O3及び純水をボールミルで16時間混合することにより、スラリーを調製した。スラリーに含まれるBa、Ti、Bi及びFeのモル比も、1:1:1:1であった。スラリーを120℃で加熱して乾燥することにより、BaCO3、TiO2、Bi2O3及びFe2O3の混合粉末を得た。この混合粉末を、600〜850℃で2時間仮焼きして、仮焼粉末(第一原料粒子)を得た。第一原料粒子及び純水をボールミルで16時間混合して第一原料粒子を粉砕することにより、第一スラリーを得た。
比較例1の焼結体の断面を分析するために、比較例1の焼結体の断面にガリウムイオンビームを照射して、比較例1の薄片状の試料を作製した。比較例1の試料の断面の写真をSTEMで撮影した。STEMとしては、日本電子(JEOL)株式会社製のJEM−2100Fを用いた。比較例1の焼結体の断面は、図4に示される。図4に示されるように、比較例1の焼結体の断面では、コアシェル構造を有する結晶粒子が発見されなかった。
d33メーターを用いて、実施例1の焼結体(圧電組成物)の圧電定数d33(単位:pC/N)を測定した。d33メーターは、JIS(Japanese Industrial Standards) R 1696に準拠したベルリンコート法により、d33を測定するための装置である。ベルリンコート法では、圧電組成物に振動を与えたときの圧電正効果を利用してd33を測定する。そのため、ベルリンコート法では、圧電組成物に電界を印加したときの圧電逆効果を利用する測定方法とは異なり、電歪の影響がなく、圧電組成物の本来のd33が得られる。実施例1のd33は、下記表3に示される値であった。d33は200pC/N以上であることが好ましい。
第二スラリーに含まれる第二原料粒子の質量がM2と表され、第一スラリーに含まれる第一原料粒子の質量がM1と表されるとき、実施例2では、M1/M2を実施例1の場合よりも小さい値に調整した。M1/M2の値を除いて実施例1と同様の方法で、実施例2の焼結体(圧電組成物)を作製した。
実施例10では、C1/C2を実施例3の場合よりも大きい値に調整した。C1とは、第一原料粒子全体におけるBiの含有量(単位:質量%)である。C2とは、第二原料粒子全体におけるBiの含有量(単位:質量%)である。この事項を除いて実施例3と同様の方法で、実施例10の焼結体(圧電組成物)を作製した。実施例10〜19それぞれのM1/M2はいずれも、実施例3の場合と同様であった。
Claims (5)
- 複数の結晶粒子を備える圧電組成物であって、
前記圧電組成物が、ビスマス、鉄、バリウム、チタン及び酸素を含有し、
前記結晶粒子が、コアと、コアを覆うシェルと、を含み、
前記コアにおけるビスマスの含有量の平均値が、CCORE質量%と表され、
前記シェルにおけるビスマスの含有量の平均値が、CSHELL質量%と表され、
CCOREがCSHELLよりも小さく、
前記圧電組成物に含まれる全ての粒子の数がN個と表され、
前記コア及び前記シェルを含む前記結晶粒子の数がn個と表され、
n/Nが、0.10〜1.00である、
圧電組成物。 - CCORE/CSHELLが0.10〜0.95である、
請求項1に記載の圧電組成物。 - 焼結体である、
請求項1又は2に記載の圧電組成物。 - 請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の圧電組成物を備える、
圧電素子。 - 0.1〜2.0kV/mmの電界が印加された前記圧電組成物の圧電定数d33が、200pC/N以上である、
請求項4に記載の圧電素子。
