この実施例では、圧縮されたATHをLiCl/苛性溶液と反応させて吸着剤を製作する。LiCl:NaOH:ATHのモル比は0.5:0.5:1モル比であり、9.5%LiClである。
Cl(1.5モル)と9.0重量パーセントのNaOH(1.5モル)を含有する溶液670gと、Compalox ON/V−801の234g(3.0モル)部分を反応させた。5時間後、内容物を濾過した。濾液は2079ppmのLiを含有し、湿潤固形物は2.29%のLi及び19.75重量%のAl(0.45のリチウム対アルミニウムのモル比)を含有した。固形物の粒度データは表1にて示す。
この実施例では、圧縮されたATHをLiCl/苛性溶液と反応させて吸着剤を製作する。LiCl:NaOH:ATHのモル比は0.5:0.4:1であり、8.0重量%LiClである。
この実施例では、圧縮されたATHをLiCl/苛性溶液と反応させて吸着剤を作製する。NaClと、LiCl:NaOH:ATHのモル比=0.55:0.4:1と、7.0%LiClである。
市販のギブサイトをLiCl及び苛性溶液と、LiCl:NaOH:ATHのモル比=0.5:0.5:1及び9.2%LiClで反応させた。
1.5モル)を含有する溶液692gとNoranda由来のATH(篩分画90〜160μm)の234g(3.0モル)部分を反応させた。0.5時間後及び1時間後に混合物をホモジネートした。その後、ホモジネートの後定期的に液体試料を取り出し、イオンクロマトグラフィによって液相におけるLiを分析し、経時的なLiの挿入をモニターした。図1及び図2を参照のこと。358時間後、内容物を静かに移し(液体は3.8グラムの細粒を含有した)、その後濾過した。濾液は572ppmのLiを含有し、湿潤固形物は2.31%のLi及び18.64重量%のAlを含有した。
LiCl:NaOH:ATHのモル比=0.5:0.5:1、及び9.2%LiClにて、LiCl及び苛性溶液によって、圧縮されたATHを活性化する。
この実施例は、カラムにおける(LiOH)a(LiCl)1-a・2Al(OH)3の塩酸による中和を説明する。
この実施例は、ブラインから価値のあるリチウムを回収するための本発明の吸着剤の有用性を確認する。実施例6に由来する固形物の665.8g部分(5.57モルのAl)を、ブラインからLiClバリューを回収するための吸着剤の試験用の直径1”のジャケット付きカラムに負荷した。
aCl2、0.2%のB(OH)3、1.1%のMgCl2、及び0.36%のSrCl2だった。
Claims (33)
- 式(LiOH)a(LiX)1a・2Al(OH)3の粒状吸着剤の調製方法であって、その際、aは0〜1であり、Xはリチウム塩のアニオン部分であり、約0.5までのリチウム対アルミニウムのモル比を有し、任意でナトリウム塩の存在下にてリチウム塩及びアルカリ水酸化物を含有する水溶液を粒状水酸化アルミニウムと反応させることを含む、前記調製方法。
- 前記リチウム塩が塩化リチウムであり、前記アルカリ水酸化物が水酸化ナトリウムであり、前記任意のナトリウム塩が存在するならば塩化ナトリウムである請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記粒状水酸化アルミニウムが少なくとも300ミクロンの平均粒度を有し、圧縮によって形態的に変えられている請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記粒状水酸化アルミニウムが少なくとも3m2/gの表面積を有する請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記水酸化アルミニウムがギブサイトである請求項1に記載の方法。
- aが0.7〜0.85である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 式(LiOH)a(LiX)1a・2Al(OH)3の粒状吸着剤の調製方法であって、その際、aは0〜1であり、Xはリチウム塩のアニオン部分であり、約0.5までのリチウム対アルミニウムのモル比を有する、少なくとも300ミクロンの平均粒度を有し、且つ圧縮によって形態的に変えられている粒状水酸化アルミニウムにリチウム塩を挿入することを含む、前記調製方法。
- 前記粒状水酸化アルミニウムが少なくとも3m2/gの表面積を有する請求項7に記載の方法。
- 任意でアルカリ塩化物の存在下にて、リチウム塩及びアルカリ水酸化物を含有する水溶液と前記粒状水酸化アルミニウムを反応させることによってリチウムを前記粒状水酸化アルミニウムに挿入する請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記リチウム塩が塩化リチウムであり、前記アルカリ水酸化物が水酸化ナトリウムであり、前記アルカリ塩化物が存在するならば塩化ナトリウムである請求項9に記載の方法。
- aが0.7〜0.85である請求項7に記載の方法。
- 式(LiOH)a(LiX)1a・2Al(OH)3の粒状吸着剤の調製方法であって、その際、Xはリチウム塩のアニオン部分であり、aは0〜1であり、約0.5までのリチウム対アルミニウムのモル比を有する、任意でアルカリ塩化物の存在下にてリチウム塩及びアルカリ水酸化物を含有する水溶液を、少なくとも300ミクロンの平均粒度を有し、且つ圧縮によって形態的に変えられている粒状水酸化アルミニウムと反応させることを含む、前記調製方法。
- 前記リチウム塩が塩化リチウムであり、前記アルカリ水酸化物が水酸化ナトリウムであり、前記アルカリ塩化物が存在するならば塩化ナトリウムである請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記粒状水酸化アルミニウムが少なくとも3m2/gの表面積を有する請求項12に記載の方法。
- aが0.7〜0.85である請求項12に記載の方法。
- さらに、Xが酸のアニオン部分である前記酸(HX)と前記吸着剤を反応させて前記吸着剤におけるLiOHをLiXに変換することを含む請求項1に記載の方法。

- 前記吸着剤のHXとの前記反応がカラムにて行われる請求項16に記載の方法。
