Abstract
Description
本出願は、2014年8月20日に出願された米国特許仮出願第62/039,697号の利益を主張し、その全体が参照として本明細書に組み込まれる。

Tg(calc.)はコポリマーについて計算されたガラス転移温度であり、
w(M1)はコポリマー中のモノマーM1の重量分率であり、

Tg(M1)はM1のホモポリマーのガラス転移温度であり、
Tg(M2)はM2のホモポリマーのガラス転移温度であり、
全ての温度は°Kである。

Sty=スチレン
撹拌機、コンデンサ、温度モニタ、加熱マントル、及び窒素導入口を備えた5000mlの丸底フラスコに、1850グラムの脱イオン水を添加し、続いて85℃に加熱した。モノマープレミックスを、800グラムの脱イオン水、26.7グラムのDisponil FES 993(ポリグリコールエーテル硫酸ナトリウム塩)、8.0gのイタコン酸、16.0グラムのスチレン、1424グラムのアクリル酸エチル、及び152グラムの氷アクリル酸から調製した。84℃の反応器水で、過硫酸アンモニウム(APS)7.2グラムを51グラムの水に添加した。プレミックス供給は12.1g/分で開始した。20分後、供給速度を24.3g/分に増加させた。同時に、200グラムの脱イオン水内に溶解された2.4グラムの過硫酸アンモニウムの供給を1.85g/分で開始した。供給が完了した後、バッチを40分かけて約75℃までゆっくりと冷却した。目的の温度で、0.15%硫酸第一鉄七水和物水溶液7グラムを添加した。50グラムの脱イオン水中の2.7グラムのtBHP(t−ブチルヒドロペルオキシドの70%水性ゾル)、及び50グラムの脱イオン水中の1.9グラムのBruggolite FF6(Bruggaman Chemicals)の両方を1時間にわたって供給した。バッチを室温に冷却し、濾過した。続いて水酸化ナトリウムで材料を中和して〜25%の固体を得た。本ポリマーを実施例1とする。他の実施例及び比較実施例は、同じプロセスを使用するが、可変量のモノマー、APS、及び反応温度(約90℃まで)で調製した。
試験方法としては、以下が挙げられる。
粘度は、Brookfield DV−I及びViscometerを用いて、特定のrpmを設定したBrookfield Spindleを用い室温で測定した。
分子量はサイズ排除クロマトグラフィ(SEC)を使用して測定した。SECはラテックスサンプルを約2mg/mLの濃度でTHF/FA(100:5容量/容量)に入れ、SECサンプルを調製した。調製した混合物を機械式振とう器で周囲温度にて一晩振とうし、次いでさらに3日間置いた。混合物をSEC分析の前に0.45μmのPTFEフィルターで濾過した。SEC分離は、HPLCポンプシステム及び示差屈折計を室温で操作し液体クロマトグラフィ装置で行った。SEC分離は、1mL/分の流速でTHF/FA(100:5容量/容量)で行い、架橋PS−DVBゲル(粒径10μm)を充填したShodex KF−806Lカラム(300×8mm ID)とShodex KF−800D(100×8mm IDからなる2つのSECカラムセットを用いて測定した。試料の注入量は、SEC分離について100μLであった。少なくともSEC分離の良好な再現性を確認するために、各試料の重複注入を行った。商業的に入手可能なポリスチレンの限られた標準物質を使用して、サンプル分子量計算のための検量線を生成した。
引張り強度は、9つの1インチ×4インチのストリップCDを、3%クエン酸を使用してpHを5未満に維持した50gのローション、110ppmの重炭酸ナトリウムでpH=7に調整した水道水中に別々に浸し、30分後測定した。引張り強度を測定するために、Thwing Albert EJA引張り試験機を使用した。以下の設定を行った:標点距離長さ2インチ、試験速度12インチ/分、破断スロープ拡張機能90%、アーム荷重0.02kg。
Claims (15)
- 水性媒体中で分散可能な不織布基材を形成するための方法であって、繊維質基材を、少なくとも10の多分散指数、1,000,000未満の重量平均分子量、及び8重量パーセント〜22重量パーセントの酸モノマーを有するエマルションポリマーを含む水性不織布バインダと接触させることを含む、方法。
- 前記エマルションポリマーが、500,000未満の重量平均分子量及び12.5重量パーセント〜20重量パーセントの酸モノマーを有する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記エマルションポリマーが、400,000未満の重量平均分子量及び14重量パーセント〜16重量パーセントの酸モノマーを有する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記エマルションポリマーが、900,000未満の重量平均分子量及び8重量パーセント〜11重量パーセントの酸モノマーを有する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記水性不織布バインダが、
a)開始剤を使用して、水溶液中で少なくとも1種のモノ−エチレン系不飽和モノマー及び少なくとも1種の酸モノマーをエマルション重合するステップであって、前記開始剤は、前記水溶液中に前記モノマーの総重量を基準にして0.5重量パーセント〜1.5重量パーセントの範囲の量で存在して前記エマルションポリマーを形成する、ステップと、
b)前記エマルションポリマーを、4〜7のpKbを有するアミン、水酸化アルカリ、及びそれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される中和剤で中和して、前記水性不織布バインダを形成するステップと、を含む方法によって調製される、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の方法。 - 不織布基材を前記水性不織布バインダと接触させて、接触された不織布基材を形成することと、
前記接触された不織布基材を120℃〜220℃の温度に加熱して、加熱され接触された不織布基材を形成することと、
前記接触され加熱された不織布基材を、5未満の最終pHを有する水性媒体中に浸漬して、水性媒体中で分散可能な不織布を得ることと、をさらに含む、請求項5に記載の方法。 - 前記エマルションポリマーが、エチルアクリレート、スチレン、アクリル酸、及びイタコン酸を含む、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記開始剤が、過硫酸アルカリ、過硫酸アンモニウム、過酸化水素、t−ブチルヒドロペルオキシド、t−アミルヒドロペルオキシド、アゾビスシアノバレリアン酸、及びそれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される、請求項5〜7のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記中和ステップが、80%〜100%中和されたポリマーをもたらす、請求項5〜8のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記エマルションポリマーが、ステップb)における中和前に、−20℃〜30℃の範囲のガラス転移温度を有する、請求項5〜9のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 分散可能なワイプ製品であって、
a)繊維質基材と、
b)少なくとも10の多分散指数、1,000,000未満の重量平均分子量、及び8重量パーセント〜22重量パーセントの酸モノマーを有するエマルションポリマーを含む水性不織布バインダと、を含む、ワイプ製品。 - 前記水性不織布バインダが、以下のステップ、
a)開始剤を使用して、水溶液中で少なくとも1種のモノ−エチレン系不飽和モノマー及び少なくとも1種の酸モノマーをエマルション重合するステップであって、前記開始剤は、前記水溶液中に前記モノマーの総重量を基準にして0.5重量パーセント〜1.5重量パーセントの範囲の量で存在して前記エマルションポリマーを形成する、ステップと、
