Abstract
Description

Claims (20)
- 装置であって、
筺体と、
コンピュータ可読記憶媒体を受け入れるように構成されるとともに、上側及び下側を有する空洞を定めるように構成された、前記筺体の第1の面における入力ポートと、
前記コンピュータ可読媒体を読み取るように構成されたセンサアレイと、
を備え、前記センサアレイは、前記上側又は前記下側の少なくとも一方に配置されて、前記空洞に対する前記コンピュータ可読記憶媒体の進入中又は排出中の少なくとも一方の間に前記コンピュータ可読記憶媒体を読み取るように構成される、
ことを特徴とする装置。 - 前記センサアレイは、前記空洞の前記上側及び前記下側の両方に設けられる、
請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記センサアレイは、前記コンピュータ可読記憶媒体の直線並進中に該コンピュータ可読記憶媒体を読み取るように構成される、
請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記センサアレイは、前記媒体の複数の直線状トラックを読み取るように構成される、
請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記センサアレイは、前記媒体の複数のU字型トラックを読み取るように構成される、
請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記コンピュータ可読記憶媒体は、光学媒体を含む、
請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記空洞内で前記コンピュータ可読記憶媒体を支持して動かすように構成されたトレイをさらに備える、
請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記センサアレイは、互いにオフセットされた複数のセンサ行を含む、
請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記センサアレイは、複数の可動レーザーピックアップを含む、
請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記センサアレイの出力を多重化し、前記装置の出力に多重化ストリームを供給するように構成されたマルチプレクサをさらに備える、
請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記コンピュータ可読記憶媒体は、光学リボンを含む、
請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記アレイを前記コンピュータ可読記憶媒体に対してオフセットするように構成されたシフト機構をさらに備え、前記コンピュータ可読記憶媒体は、前記空洞に対して第1の方向に出入りするように構成され、前記シフト機構は、前記第1の方向とほぼ直交する第2の方向に前記アレイをオフセットするように構成される、
請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記筐体の前記第1の面とは反対側の第2の面に、コンピュータ可読記憶媒体を受け入れるように構成された出力ポートをさらに備える、
請求項1に記載の装置。 - ドライブ内の光学媒体を走査する走査ステップを含み、該走査ステップは、複数の直線状又はU字型のデータトラックを同時に走査するステップを含む、
ことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記光学媒体からのデータを前記ドライブの出力に提供するステップをさらに含む、
請求項14に記載の方法。 - 前記ドライブの複数の光学センサからのデータを多重化するステップをさらに含む、
請求項15に記載の方法。 - 前記走査ステップは、前記光学媒体の前記ドライブへの挿入中、又は前記光学媒体の前記ドライブからの取り出し中の少なくとも一方の間に行われる、
請求項14に記載の方法。 - 前記走査ステップは、前記光学媒体の直線並進中に前記光学媒体を走査するステップを含む、
請求項14に記載の方法。 - 前記走査ステップは、第1の複数のトラック行を第1の期間中に走査するステップと、前記第1の複数のトラック行とは異なる第2の複数のトラック行を第2の期間中に走査するステップとを含む、
請求項14に記載の方法。 - 前記光学媒体がドライブ内に進入した後に、前記光学媒体を前記ドライブへの進入方向と垂直にシフトさせるステップをさらに含む、
