Claims (20)
- 장치로서,
인클로저;
상기 인클로저의 제1 면에서의 입력 포트 - 상기 입력 포트는 컴퓨터 판독가능 저장 매체를 수취(receive)하도록 구성되고, 상기 입력 포트는 상부면(upper side)과 하부면(lower side)을 갖는 챔버를 정의하도록 구성됨 -; 및
상기 컴퓨터 판독가능 매체를 판독하도록 구성된 센서들의 어레이 - 상기 센서들의 어레이는 상기 상부면 또는 상기 하부면 중 적어도 하나에 배열되고, 상기 센서들의 어레이는, 상기 컴퓨터 판독가능 저장 매체가 상기 챔버에 들어가는 것 또는 상기 챔버를 나가는 것 중 적어도 하나인 동안에 상기 컴퓨터 판독가능 저장 매체를 판독하도록 구성됨 -
를 포함하는 장치. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 센서들의 어레이는 상기 챔버의 상부면 및 하부면 양쪽 모두 상에 제공되는 장치. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 센서들의 어레이는 상기 컴퓨터 판독가능 저장 매체의 선형 병진 이동 동안에 상기 컴퓨터 판독가능 저장 매체를 판독하도록 구성되는 장치. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 센서들의 어레이는 상기 매체의 복수의 선형 트랙들을 판독하도록 구성되는 장치. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 센서들의 어레이는 상기 매체의 복수의 u 형상 트랙들을 판독하도록 구성되는 장치. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 컴퓨터 판독가능 저장 매체는 광학 매체를 포함하는 장치. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 챔버 내에서 상기 컴퓨터 판독가능 저장 매체를 지지하고 이동시키도록 구성된 트레이를 더 포함하는 장치. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 센서들의 어레이는 서로로부터 오프셋된 복수의 센서들의 로우들을 포함하는 장치. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 센서들의 어레이는 복수의 조종가능한 레이저 픽업들을 포함하는 장치. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 센서들의 어레이의 출력들을 멀티플렉싱하고, 멀티플렉싱된 스트림을 상기 장치의 출력에 공급하도록 구성된 멀티플렉서를 더 포함하는 장치. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 컴퓨터 판독가능 저장 매체는 광학 리본을 포함하는 장치. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 컴퓨터 판독가능 저장 매체에 대하여 상기 어레이를 오프셋하도록 구성된 시프팅 메커니즘을 더 포함하고, 상기 컴퓨터 판독가능 저장 매체는 제1 방향으로 상기 챔버를 출입하도록 구성되고, 상기 시프팅 메커니즘은 상기 제1 방향에 대략 직교하는 제2 방향으로 상기 어레이를 오프셋하도록 구성되는 장치. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 인클로저의 제1 면에 대향하는 제2 면에서의 출력 포트를 더 포함하고, 상기 출력 포트는 컴퓨터 판독가능 저장 매체를 수취하도록 구성되는 장치. - 방법으로서,
드라이브에서 광학 매체를 스캐닝하는 단계를 포함하고,
상기 스캐닝하는 단계는, 병렬로 데이터의 복수의 병렬 선형 또는 U 형상 트랙들을 스캐닝하는 단계를 포함하는 방법. - 제14항에 있어서,
상기 광학 매체로부터의 데이터를 상기 드라이브의 출력에 제공하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법. - 제15항에 있어서,
상기 드라이브의 복수의 광학 센서들로부터의 상기 데이터를 멀티플렉싱하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법. - 제14항에 있어서,
상기 스캐닝하는 단계는, 상기 드라이브로의 상기 광학 매체의 삽입 또는 상기 드라이브로부터의 상기 광학 매체의 추출 중 적어도 하나인 동안에 수행되는 방법. - 제14항에 있어서,
상기 스캐닝하는 단계는, 상기 광학 매체의 선형 병진 이동 동안에 상기 광학 매체를 스캐닝하는 단계를 포함하는 방법. - 제14항에 있어서,
상기 스캐닝하는 단계는 제1 기간 동안 제1의 복수의 트랙들의 로우들을 스캐닝하는 단계, 및 제2 기간 동안 제2의 복수의 트랙들의 로우들을 스캐닝하는 단계를 포함하고, 상기 제2의 복수의 트랙들의 로우들은 상기 제1의 복수의 트랙들의 로우들과는 상이한 방법. - 제14항에 있어서,
