Abstract
Description
図1は、実施形態の画像形成装置の模式図である。画像形成装置1は、読取り部R、画像形成部P、給紙カセット部Cを有する。読取り部Rは、原稿台に設置される原稿シートをCCD(Charge-Coupled Device)イメージセンサなどで読み取り、光信号をデジタルデータに変換する。画像形成部Pは、読取り部Rで読み取られた原稿画像、もしくは外部のパーソナルコンピュータから印刷データを取得し、トナー像をシート上に形成、定着させるユニットである。
定着動作時のニップ幅A>昇温実施時のニップ幅B≧発熱抵抗部材60の幅N
の関係が成立する。
換言すると、制御部801は、定着処理の前に行われる加熱部材32の昇温処理時における挟圧領域のシート搬送方向の第2の長さBを、定着処理時の第1の長さAよりも短く、かつ発熱抵抗部材60のシート搬送方向の長さN以上とする。なお、挟圧領域とは、加熱部材32および加圧ローラ31における無端ベルト34を挟圧する領域を指し、ニップ幅と換言できる。なお、上記の実施態様では、挟圧領域を、加熱部材32と加圧ローラ31とで形成したが、これに限らない。即ち、例えば、加熱部材の上流にシートを案内するためのガイドがある場合、当該ガイドが加圧ローラ31との間で挟圧領域を形成する場合は、当該ガイドも挟圧領域を形成する要素として含まれる。
温度センサ39は、加熱部材32の近傍に設けられて加熱部材32の温度を直接測定してもよい。
第2実施形態では、定着装置の構成を第1実施形態から変更した態様例について説明する。図8は、定着装置30Aの構成例を示す図である。

Claims (5)
- 無端ベルトと、
シートを加熱して色材をシートに定着させる定着処理時に前記無端ベルトと共にシートを挟圧しながら搬送する加圧体と、
前記無端ベルトの内側に設けられ、前記無端ベルトを加熱する加熱部材であって、発熱体を有する加熱部材と、
前記加熱部材および前記加圧体の少なくとも一方を他方から離す方向および両者を相対的に近づける方向に移動させ、前記加熱部材および前記加圧体により形成され前記無端ベルトを挟圧する挟圧領域のシート搬送方向における長さを調整する調整機構と、
前記定着処理の前に行われる前記加熱部材の昇温処理時における前記挟圧領域の前記シート搬送方向の第2の長さを、前記定着処理時の第1の長さよりも短く、かつ前記発熱体の前記シート搬送方向の長さ以上とするよう、前記調整機構を制御する制御部と、
を有する定着装置。 - 請求項1に記載の定着装置において、
前記加熱部材は、基板と、前記基板上に積層された前記発熱体と、前記基板および前記発熱体上に積層され、前記シート搬送方向において前記発熱体よりも長い保護層と、を備える定着装置。 - 請求項1または2に記載の定着装置において、
さらに、前記無端ベルトの表面温度を検出する温度検出部を有し、
前記制御部は、前記定着処理の実行指示の待ち状態時であり前記無端ベルトの温度制御を行う待ち状態時に、前記温度検出部で検出される温度が規定値を下回っている場合、前記挟圧領域の長さを前記第2の長さにし、前記発熱体によって前記加熱部材を昇温する定着装置。 - 請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載の定着装置において、さらに、
前記制御部は、前記昇温処理時の前記加圧体の回転速度を前記定着処理時の速度よりも低速にする。
定着装置。 - 画像形成装置であって、
形成対象の画像をシート上に転写する転写部と、
シート上に転写された画像を当該シートに定着させる定着処理を行う定着装置であって、
無端ベルトと、
前記定着処理時に前記無端ベルトと共にシートを挟圧しながら搬送する加圧体と、
前記無端ベルトの内側に設けられ、前記無端ベルトを加熱する加熱部材であって、発熱体を有する加熱部材と、
前記加熱部材および前記加圧体の少なくとも一方を他方から離す方向および両者を相対的に近づける方向に移動させ、前記加熱部材および前記加圧体により形成され前記無端ベルトを挟圧する挟圧領域のシート搬送方向における長さを調整する調整機構と、
前記定着処理の前に行われる前記加熱部材の昇温処理時における前記挟圧領域の前記シート搬送方向の第2の長さを、前記定着処理時の第1の長さよりも短く、かつ前記発熱体の前記シート搬送方向の長さ以上とするよう、前記調整機構を制御する制御部と、を有する定着装置と、
を備える画像形成装置。
