Abstract
Description
図1は、本発明の一実施形態に係るPN型液晶表示装置10全体の概略構成を示すブロック図である。同図で、11は例えばVGA(縦480画素×横640画素)の表示容量を有するPN液晶表示パネルであり、そのゲート電極群をゲートドライバ12が走査駆動する一方で、そのソース電極群をソースドライバ13が駆動することで、表示駆動が実行される。
次に上記実施形態の動作について説明する。
図3は、DSPであるタイミングコントローラ13Aが実行する、上記ソースドライバ13に供給する画像データに対するヒステリシス補正処理の概略構成を示すフローチャートである。
以上詳述した如く本実施形態によれば、簡易な回路規模でポリマーネットワーク型液晶固有のヒステリシス特性に基づく残像の発生を抑止して良好な表示品質を得ることが可能となる。

Claims (5)
- 入力される画像信号に応じた画像を表示するポリマーネットワーク型液晶表示装置において、
上記画像信号に応じて表示する画像が動画と静止画のいずれであるかを判別する判別手段と、
上記判別手段での判別結果に基づいて、表示する画像のヒステリシス補正を行なう補正手段と
を備えることを特徴とするポリマーネットワーク型液晶表示装置。 - 上記判別手段は、入力される画像信号の全画素成分を加算し、その加算結果が直近の一定時間分の同結果と略等しいか否かにより、表示する画像が動画と静止画のいずれであるかを判別することを特徴とする請求項1記載のポリマーネットワーク型液晶表示装置。
- 上記補正手段は、画像全面の表示をオフする画像を任意フレーム数分連続して表示させることを特徴とする請求項1記載のポリマーネットワーク型液晶表示装置。
- 上記画像全面の表示をオフする任意フレーム数は、人間の視認限界以下に設定することを特徴とする請求項3記載のポリマーネットワーク型液晶表示装置。
- 入力される画像信号に応じた画像を表示するポリマーネットワーク型液晶表示装置での表示方法において、
上記画像信号に応じて表示する画像が動画と静止画のいずれであるかを判別する判別工程と、
上記判別工程での判別結果に基づいて、表示する画像のヒステリシス補正を行なう補正工程と
を有することを特徴とする液晶表示方法。
