Description
Claims (23)
- プレチャンバ容積部を囲む外表面及び内表面を含むプレチャンバと、
燃料空気混合気を前記プレチャンバ容積部内に導入するための、前記外表面と前記内表面との間を連通する1以上の排出ポートと、
スパークギャップ電極接合体であって、
前記プレチャンバ容積部内に配置された1次電極と、
前記プレチャンバ容積部内に配置され、前記1次電極からずれて、1以上の電極ギャップを形成する、1以上の接地電極と、を含むスパークギャップ電極接合体と、
割れ目容積部と、
各々が、主燃焼室と連通する入口、及び、前記割れ目容積部と連通する出口を含む1以上の補助掃気ポートと、を含む受動プレチャンバを備える予燃焼室。 - 前記1以上の補助掃気ポートが、新気燃料空気混合気を前記受動プレチャンバの前記割れ目容積部に直接導入するように構成される、請求項1に記載の予燃焼室。
- 前記1以上の補助掃気ポートが、約1より大きい長さ対直径比を有する、請求項1に記載の予燃焼室。
- 前記1以上の補助掃気ポートが、約3より大きい長さ対直径比を有する、請求項3に記載の予燃焼室。
- 前記1以上の補助掃気ポートが、前記プレチャンバの長手軸に実質的に平行なポート軸を有する、請求項1に記載の予燃焼室。
- 前記1以上の補助掃気ポートのうちの少なくとも1つが、収束入口及び閉塞オリフィスを有する、請求項1に記載の予燃焼室。
- 前記1以上の補助掃気ポートの各々が、入口角を規定する入口軸、及び、出口角を含む出口軸を有し、前記入口角が前記出口角と異なる、請求項1に記載の予燃焼室。
- 前記1以上の補助掃気ポートが、前記受動プレチャンバ内の残留ガスで前記新気燃料空気混合気の混合を引き起こすように構成される、請求項2に記載の予燃焼室。
- 前記1以上の補助掃気ポートが、前記スパークギャップ電極接合体内に、均一で高速の流れを生成するように構成される、請求項1に記載の予燃焼室。
- 前記1以上の補助掃気ポートの各々の前記出口が、前記スパークギャップ電極接合体に近接している、請求項1に記載の予燃焼室。
- 前記1以上の補助掃気ポートの各々の前記出口が、前記割れ目容積部内への流動場に直接影響を与えるのに十分に前記スパークギャップ電極接合体に近接している、請求項10に記載の予燃焼室。
- 前記1以上の補助掃気ポートの各々の前記出口が、前記1以上の排出ポートから離れている、請求項1に記載の予燃焼室。
- 前記1以上の補助掃気ポートが、前記受動プレチャンバ内の燃焼から実質的に勢いを弱めた火炎ジェットを生成するように構成される、請求項1に記載の予燃焼室。
- 前記1以上の補助掃気ポートが前記プレチャンバの周辺に配置される、請求項1に記載の予燃焼室。
- 前記プレチャンバが、約1000立方ミリメートルより大きいプレチャンバ容積部を規定し、前記スパークギャップ電極接合体が、約100立方ミリメートルより大きい容積部を有する、請求項1に記載の予燃焼室。
- プレチャンバを設けるステップであって、前記プレチャンバが、
プレチャンバ容積部を囲む外表面及び内表面と、
燃料空気混合気を前記プレチャンバ容積部内に導入するための、前記外表面と前記内表面との間を連通する1以上の排出ポートと、
スパークギャップ電極接合体であって、
前記プレチャンバ容積部内に配置された1次電極と、
前記プレチャンバ容積部内に配置され、前記1次電極からずれて、1以上の電極ギャップを形成する、1以上の接地電極と、を含むスパークギャップ電極接合体と、
各々が、主燃焼室と連通する入口、及び、前記プレチャンバの割れ目容積部と連通する出口を含む1以上の補助掃気ポートを備える、プレチャンバを設けるステップと、
1以上の燃料空気補充ストリームを、前記1以上の排出ポートを通じて前記プレチャンバ容積部に導入するステップと、
前記1以上の電極ギャップのうちの少なくとも1つの間にスパークを導入し、前記燃料空気混合気を点火するステップと、を含む能動掃気の方法。 - 1以上の新気燃料空気補充ストリームを、前記1以上の補助掃気ポートを通じて前記割れ目容積部に導入するステップをさらに含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記1以上の補助掃気ポートが、約1より大きい長さ対直径比を有する、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記1以上の補助掃気ポートが、約3より大きい長さ対直径比を有する、請求項18に記載の方法。
- 前記1以上の補助掃気ポートが、前記プレチャンバの長手軸に実質的に平行なポート軸を有する、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記1以上の補助掃気ポートの各々が、入口角を規定する入口軸、及び、出口角を含む出口軸を有し、前記1以上の補助掃気ポートのうちの少なくとも1つに対して、前記入口角が前記出口角と異なる、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記1以上の補助掃気ポートのうちの少なくとも1つの前記出口が、前記割れ目容積部内への流動場に直接影響を与えるのに十分に前記スパークギャップ電極接合体に近接している、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記1以上の補助掃気ポートが、前記プレチャンバ内の燃焼から実質的に勢いを弱めた火炎ジェットを生成するように構成される、請求項16に記載の方法。
