Abstract
Description
本発明の液晶表示装置は、バックライトユニットと液晶パネルを含み、前記バックライトユニット、液晶パネル、またはその両方が、その構成の中に一つ以上のコーティング層または粘着層を備え、前記一つ以上のコーティング層または粘着層が、特定の波長帯域を吸収する1種以上の吸収染料および特定の波長帯域を吸収して発光する1種以上の蛍光染料を、前記一つ以上のコーティング層または粘着層のうちいずれか1つの同一層内に含むか、または互いに異なる層内にそれぞれ含むことを特徴とする。
ii)上拡散板/水平プリズムシート/垂直プリズムシート
iii)二重輝度向上フィルム/水平プリズムシート/垂直プリズムシート
iv)マイクロレンズフィルム(MLF)/水平プリズムシート/垂直プリズムシート
v)上拡散板/水平プリズムシート/垂直プリズムシート
本発明によると、前記バックライトユニット、液晶パネルまたはその両方が、その構成の中に特定の波長帯域を吸収する1種以上の吸収染料および/または特定の波長帯域を吸収して発光する1種以上の蛍光染料を含むコーティング層または粘着層を備える。
より好ましくは、ペリレン(perylene)系、ピロールメチン(pyrrole methine)系、パイラン(pyran)系およびクマリン(coumarin)系蛍光染料の組み合わせを使用することができる。
以下、本発明を下記の実施例によりさらに詳細に説明する。ただし、下記の実施例は本発明を例示するためのもので、本発明の範囲がこれらだけに限定されるものではない。
アクリルバインダー樹脂としてSoken社のGS1000を35重量部、溶媒としてメチルエチルケトン(MEK)を50重量部、およびビーズとしてSoken社のMX−500を15重量部混合した後、これに吸収染料としてエスケーケミカル社のSK−d593を上記混合物100重量部に対して0.1重量部の量で添加して吸収染料含有のコーティング組成物を製造した。拡散フィルムの一面に、上記吸収染料含有コーティング組成物を、メイヤーバー(Mayer bar)を用いてコーティングし、乾燥および硬化して吸収染料が含有された隠蔽コーティング層を厚さ5μmに形成した。
前記実施例1と同じ方法で吸収染料含有コーティング組成物を製造した後、拡散フィルムの一面に吸収染料が含有された隠蔽コーティング層を形成した。隠蔽コーティング層が形成された拡散フィルムの反対面には、前記実施例1と同じ方法で拡散コーティング層を形成するが、実施例1とは異なり、拡散コーティング層に蛍光染料を添加しなかった。
前記実施例1と同じ方法で拡散フィルムの拡散コーティング層と隠蔽コーティング層を形成するが、実施例1とは異なり、拡散コーティング層と隠蔽コーティング層は、吸収染料や蛍光染料のいずれも添加しなかった。
前記実施例1と同じ方法で吸収染料含有コーティング組成物を製造した後、拡散フィルムの一面に吸収染料が含有された隠蔽コーティング層を形成した。隠蔽コーティング層が形成された拡散フィルムの反対面には、前記実施例1と同じ方法で拡散コーティング層を形成するが、実施例1とは異なり、拡散コーティング層に蛍光染料を添加しなかった。
前記実施例1と同じ方法で蛍光染料含有コーティング組成物を製造した後、拡散フィルムの一面に蛍光染料が含有された拡散コーティング層を形成した。拡散コーティング層が形成された拡散フィルムの反対面には、上記実施例1と同じ方法で隠蔽コーティング層を形成するが、実施例1とは異なり、隠蔽コーティング層に吸収染料を添加しなかった。
前記実施例および比較例で製造した液晶表示装置について、ラジオメーター(radiometer、CS−2000;ミノルタ(Minolta)社)を用いてスペクトルの変化および特性を測定し、その結果を下記表1、および図4A〜4Eにそれぞれ示した。下記表1においてカラーガモットは、色再現面積を示す。

Claims (12)
- バックライトユニットおよび液晶パネルを含む液晶表示装置において、
前記バックライトユニット、液晶パネル、またはその両方が、その構成の中に一つ以上のコーティング層または粘着層を備え、
上記一つ以上のコーティング層または粘着層が、特定の波長帯域を吸収する1種以上の吸収染料及び特定の波長帯域を吸収して発光する1種以上の蛍光染料を、前記一つ以上のコーティング層または粘着層のいずれか1つの同一層内に一緒に含むか、または互いに異なる層内にそれぞれ含むことを特徴とする、液晶表示装置。 - 前記吸収染料がRGB以外の主吸収波長帯域を有し、
前記蛍光染料がRGB以外の主吸収波長帯域、およびRGBに該当する主発光波長帯域を有することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記吸収染料が380nm〜430nm、480nm〜510nmまたは560nm〜600nmの主吸収波長帯域を持って、
前記蛍光染料が380nm〜430nm、480nm〜510nmまたは560nm〜600nmの主吸収波長帯域、および430nm〜480nm、510nm〜580nmまたは600nm〜650nmの主発光波長帯域を有することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記吸収染料が、ヒドロキシベンゾトリアゾール(HB)系、トリスレゾルシノールトリアジンクロモフォア(TRTC)系、ヒドロキシフェニルベンゾトリアゾールクロモフォア(HBC)系、ピロールメチン(PM)系、ローダミン(RH)系、ボロンジピロメテン(BODIPY)系、テトラアザポルフィリン(TAP)系、スクアリン(SQ)系およびシアニン(CY)系の吸収染料からなる群より選択され、
前記蛍光染料が、アントラセン系、アントラキノン系、アリールメチン系、アゾ系、アゾメチン系、ビマン系、クマリン系、1,5―ジアザビシクロ[3.3.0]オクタジエン系、ジケトピロール系、ナフタレノールイミン系、ナフタルイミド系、ペリレン系、フェノールフタレイン系、ピロールメチン系、パイラン系、パイレン系、ポルフィセン系、ポルフィリン系、キナクリドン系、ローダミン系、ルブリン系およびスチルベン系の蛍光染料からなる群より選択されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記1種以上の吸収染料がヒドロキシベンゾトリアゾール系、シアニン系、およびテトラアザポルフィリン系の吸収染料の組合せであり
前記1種以上の蛍光染料がフェリルレン系、ピロールメチン系、パイラン系およびクマリン系の蛍光染料の組み合わせであることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記吸収染料が前記コーティング層または粘着層の重量を基準に、0.01重量%〜10重量%の量で使用され、
前記蛍光染料が前記コーティング層または粘着層の重量を基準に、0.01重量%〜10重量%の量で使用されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記液晶パネルは、上偏光板、第1粘着層、液晶セル、第2粘着層および下偏光板を順次含み、
前記第1粘着層及び第2粘着層は、特定の波長帯域を吸収する1種以上の吸収染料および特定の波長帯域を吸収して発光する1種以上の蛍光染料を、前記第1粘着層及び第2粘着層のいずれか1つの層内に含むか、または、これらのそれぞれの層内に分けて含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記バックライトユニットは、二重輝度向上フィルム(DBEF)または上拡散板、水平プリズムシート、垂直プリズムシート、下拡散板、導光板および反射板を順次含み、
前記二重輝度向上フィルム、または上拡散板の一面または両面、前記水平プリズムシートの一面または両面、前記垂直プリズムシートの一面または両面、前記下拡散板の一面または両面、そして前記反射板の一面のいずれか1つ以上の位置にコーティング層を有し、
前記1つ以上のコーティング層は、特定の波長帯域を吸収する1種以上の吸収染料および特定の波長帯域を吸収して発光する1種以上の蛍光染料を、前記1つ以上のコーティング層のいずれか1つの同一層内に含むか、または互いに異なる層内にそれぞれ含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記コーティング層および粘着層は、2μm〜100μmの厚さを有することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 感圧性粘着剤と、
特定の波長帯域を吸収する1種以上の吸収染料と、
特定の波長帯域を吸収して発光する1種以上の蛍光染料とを含む、
液晶表示装置用色純度の向上および輝度補償フィルム。 - バインダー樹脂と、
特定の波長帯域を吸収する1種以上の吸収染料と、
特定の波長帯域を吸収して発光する1種以上の蛍光染料とを含む、
液晶表示装置用色純度の向上および輝度補償フィルム。 - 前記吸収染料が、ヒドロキシベンゾトリアゾール系、トリスレゾルシノールトリアジンクロモフォア系、ヒドロキシフェニルベンゾトリアゾールクロモフォア系、ピロールメチン系、ローダミン系、ボロンジピロメテン系、テトラアザポルフィリン系、スクアリン系およびシアニン系の吸収染料からなる群より選択され、
前記蛍光染料が、アントラセン系、アントラキノン系、アリールメチン系、アゾ系、アゾメチン系、ビマン系、クマリン系、1,5−ジアザビシクロ[3.3.0]オクタジエン系、ジケトピロール系、ナフタレノールイミン系、ナフタルイミド系、ペリレン系、フェノールフタレイン系、ピロールメチン系、パイラン系、パイレン系、ポルフィセン系、ポルフィリン系、キナクリドン系、ローダミン系、ルブリン系およびスチルベン系の蛍光染料からなる群より選択されることを特徴とする、請求項10または11に記載の液晶表示装置用色純度の向上および輝度補償フィルム。
