Abstract
Description
すなわち、本発明者は、以下の構成により上記課題が解決できることを見出した。
上記被着体ゴムの上記有機過酸化物(X1)の含有量が、上記被着体ゴムにおける上記エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体に対して0.011〜0.020モル当量であり、
上記接着用ゴムの上記有機過酸化物(X2)の含有量が、上記接着用ゴムにおける上記エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体に対して0.017〜0.022モル当量であり、
上記有機過酸化物(X1)および上記有機過酸化物(X2)の量比(X2/X1)が、1.20〜2.00である、接着方法。
[2] 上記被着体ゴムの上記カーボンブラック(Y1)の含有量が、上記被着体ゴムにおける上記エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体100質量部に対して40〜60質量部であり、
上記接着用ゴムの上記カーボンブラック(Y2)の含有量が、上記接着用ゴムにおける上記エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体100質量部に対して30〜50質量部であり、
上記カーボンブラック(Y1)および上記カーボンブラック(Y2)の含有量の差(Y1−Y2)が、0〜10質量部である、[1]に記載の接着方法。
[3] コンベヤベルト同士の接合に用いる[1]または[2]に記載の接着方法。
[4] [3]に記載の接着方法により接着されてなるコンベヤベルト。
なお、本明細書において「〜」を用いて表される数値範囲は、「〜」の前後に記載される数値を下限値および上限値として含む範囲を意味する。
本発明の接着方法は、エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体と有機過酸化物(X1)とカーボンブラック(Y1)とを含有するゴム組成物からなる被着体ゴム同士を、エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体と有機過酸化物(X2)とカーボンブラック(Y2)とを含有するゴム組成物からなる接着用ゴムを接着界面に使用して接着させる接着方法であって、上記被着体ゴムの上記有機過酸化物(X1)の含有量が、上記被着体ゴムにおける上記エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体に対して0.011〜0.020モル当量であり、上記接着用ゴムの上記有機過酸化物(X2)の含有量が、上記接着用ゴムにおける上記エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体に対して0.017〜0.022モル当量であり、かつ、上記有機過酸化物(X1)および上記有機過酸化物(X2)の量比(X2/X1)が、1.20〜2.00である、接着方法である。
ここで、量比(X2/X1)は、被着体ゴム中のエチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体に対する有機過酸化物(X1)のモル当量と、接着用ゴム中のエチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体に対する有機過酸化物(X2)のモル当量との比率である。
これは、詳細には明らかではないが、およそ以下のとおりと推測される。
すなわち、接着界面において有機過酸化物により生成したラジカルの濃度が上昇し、かつ、その濃度が被着体ゴム自体におけるラジカル濃度と濃度勾配が生じることにより、被着体ゴムと接着用ゴムとの間で架橋反応が進行しやすくなったためであると考えられる。
ここで、カーボンブラック(Y1)およびカーボンブラック(Y2)の含有量の差(Y1−Y2)は、被着体ゴム中のエチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体100質量部に対するカーボンブラック(Y1)の質量部と、接着用ゴム中のエチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体100質量部に対するカーボンブラック(Y1)の質量部との差である。
本発明においては、被着体ゴムとは、後述するエチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体と有機過酸化物(X1)とカーボンブラック(Y1)とを含有するゴム組成物からなるものであれば特に限定されず、未加硫のもの(以下、「未加硫ゴム部品」ともいう。)であっても、加硫したもの(以下、「加硫ゴム部品」ともいう。)であってもよいが、未加硫ゴム部品であるのが好ましい。
また、被着体ゴム同士には、加硫ゴム部品同士や未加硫ゴム部品同士だけではなく、加硫ゴム部品と未加硫ゴム部品とを接着させる態様も含むものである。
被着体ゴムを形成するゴム組成物に含有するエチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体は特に限定されず、エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体を構成するα−オレフィンとしては、例えば、エチレン、プロピレン、1−ブテン、1−ペンテン、1−ヘキセン、1−ヘプテン、1−オクテンなどが挙げられる。
被着体ゴムを形成するゴム組成物に含有する有機過酸化物(X1)は特に限定されず、従来公知のものを使用することができる。
有機過酸化物(X1)としては、具体的には、例えば、ジクミルパーオキサイド、ジ−t−ブチルパーオキサイド、1,3−ビス(t−ブチルパーオキシイソプロピル)ベンゼン、4,4´−ジ(t−ブチルパーオキシ)バレリック酸n−ブチル、2,5−ジメチル−2,5−ビス(t−ブチルパーオキシ)ヘキサン等が挙げられ、これらを1種単独で用いてもよく、2種以上を併用してもよい。
なお、上記有機過酸化物(X1)の含有量は、上記モル当量の範囲内であり、かつ、上記有機過酸化物(X1)および後述する有機過酸化物(X2)の量比(X2/X1)が1.20〜2.00となる範囲内であり、1.35〜1.70となる範囲内であるのが好ましい。
被着体ゴムを形成するゴム組成物に含有するカーボンブラック(Y1)は特に限定されず、従来公知のものを使用することができる。
上記カーボンブラック(Y1)としては、具体的には、例えば、SAF、ISAF、HAF、FEF、GPE、SRF等のファーネスカーボンブラックが挙げられ、これらを1種単独で用いてもよく、2種以上を併用してもよい。
なお、上記カーボンブラック(Y1)の含有量は、上記質量部の範囲内であり、かつ、上記カーボンブラック(Y1)および後述するカーボンブラック(Y1)の含有量の差(Y1−Y2)が0〜10質量部となる範囲内であり、5〜10質量部となる範囲内であるのが好ましい。
また、上記被着体ゴムとしての未加硫ゴム部品は、上記被着体ゴムを形成するゴム組成物そのものである。
また、上記被着体ゴムとしての加硫ゴム部品は、上記被着体ゴムを形成するゴム組成物を、例えば、温度140〜150℃程度、0.5時間の条件下、加硫することにより得ることができる。
本発明においては、接着用ゴムとは、エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体と有機過酸化物(X2)とカーボンブラック(Y2)とを含有するゴム組成物からなるものであれば特に限定されず、未加硫のゴム組成物であっても、加硫したゴム組成物であってもよいが、未加硫のゴム組成物であるのが好ましい。
本発明においては、上記有機過酸化物(X2)の含有量は、上記接着用ゴムにおける上記エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体に対して0.017〜0.022モル当量であり、0.018〜0.021モル当量であるのが好ましく、0.019〜0.020モル当量であるのがより好ましい。
本発明においては、上記カーボンブラック(Y2)の含有量は、エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体100質量部に対して30〜50質量部であるのが好ましく、35〜45質量部であるのがより好ましい。
本発明の接着方法は、上述した被着体ゴム同士を、上述した接着用ゴムを接着界面に使用して接着させる接着方法である。
ここで、「接着界面に使用する」とは、被着体ゴムと被着体ゴムとの接着界面に接着用ゴムを挟み込むことをいう。
また、接着する方法は特に限定されないが、被着体ゴムと被着体ゴムとの接着界面に接着用ゴムを挟み込んだ状態で、これらを加熱プレスする方法が好適に例示される。なお、加熱プレスの条件は、エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体の種類や有機過酸化物の種類によって異なるため特に限定されないが、例えば、エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体としてエチレン・プロピレン共重合体(EPM)を使用し、有機過酸化物として1,3−ビス(t−ブチルパーオキシイソプロピル)ベンゼンを用いた場合は、140〜160℃の加熱条件下で30分〜2時間、1MPa程度加圧する条件であるのが好ましい。
エチレン・プロピレン共重合体(EPM)および所望により配合するエチレン・1−ブテン共重合体(EBM)からなるゴム成分100質量部に対して、下記第1表に示す組成成分(質量部)〔有機過酸化物についてはモル当量〕で、各ゴム組成物を調製した。
具体的には、まず、下記第1表に示す成分のうち架橋剤および有機過酸化物を除く成分をバンバリーミキサー(3.4リットル)で5分間混練し、160℃に達したときに放出し、マスターバッチを得た。次に、得られたマスターバッチに架橋剤および有機過酸化物をオープンロールで混練し、ゴム組成物を得た。
・EPM:エチレン・プロピレン共重合体〔KEP−110、KUMHO POLYCHEM社製〕
・EBM:エチレン・1−ブテン共重合体〔Engage 7487、ダウケミカル社製〕
・カーボンブラック:ニテロン#300〔新日化カーボン社製〕
・酸化亜鉛:酸化亜鉛3種〔正同化学工業社製〕
・ステアリン酸:ステアリン酸50S〔千葉脂肪酸社製〕
・老化防止剤:ノクラックMMB〔大内新興化学工業社製〕
・架橋剤:マグネシウムジメタクリレート〔ハイクロスGT、精工化学社製〕
・可塑剤:ルーカント HC−3000X〔三井化学社製〕
・有機過酸化物:1,3−ビス(t−ブチルパーオキシイソプロピル)ベンゼン〔パーカドックス14−40、化薬アクゾ社製〕
第1表に示す組成物1〜8を用いて、被着体ゴムと未加硫の接着用ゴムとの接着を行った。
具体的には、下記第2表に示すゴム組成物からなる被着体ゴム(厚さ5mm)と下記第2表に示すゴム組成物からなる接着用ゴム(厚さ5mm)とを貼り合わせた後に、150℃で60分間、加熱プレスすることにより行った。なお、サンプル形状は、JIS K6256−1:2006の「布とのはく離強さ」に準じて作製した。
ここで、被着体ゴムおよび接着用ゴムにおける有機過酸化物およびカーボンブラックの含有量ならびにこれらの比率などについても、下記第2表に示す。
室温(23℃)および150℃の条件で、はく離試験をJIS K6256−1:2006の「布とのはく離強さ」に準じて行い、はく離力(N/mm)を測定した。
これに対し、被着体ゴムの有機過酸化物(X1)の含有量が0.011〜0.020モル当量であり、接着用ゴムの有機過酸化物(X2)の含有量が0.017〜0.022モル当量であり、かつ、有機過酸化物(X1)および有機過酸化物(X2)の量比(X2/X1)が、1.20〜2.00であると、室温および150℃におけるはく離力が高くなり、ゴム製品同士の接着性が良好となることが分かった(実施例1〜5)。
Claims (4)
- エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体と有機過酸化物(X1)とカーボンブラック(Y1)とを含有するゴム組成物からなる被着体ゴム同士を、エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体と有機過酸化物(X2)とカーボンブラック(Y2)とを含有するゴム組成物からなる接着用ゴムを接着界面に使用して接着させる接着方法であって、
前記被着体ゴムの前記有機過酸化物(X1)の含有量が、前記被着体ゴムにおける前記エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体に対して0.011〜0.020モル当量であり、
前記接着用ゴムの前記有機過酸化物(X2)の含有量が、前記接着用ゴムにおける前記エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体に対して0.017〜0.022モル当量であり、
前記有機過酸化物(X1)および前記有機過酸化物(X2)の量比(X2/X1)が、1.20〜2.00である、接着方法。 - 前記被着体ゴムの前記カーボンブラック(Y1)の含有量が、前記被着体ゴムにおける前記エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体100質量部に対して40〜60質量部であり、
前記接着用ゴムの前記カーボンブラック(Y2)の含有量が、前記接着用ゴムにおける前記エチレン・α−オレフィン共重合体100質量部に対して30〜50質量部であり、
