Abstract
レーザ接合方法において、熱可塑性樹脂と金属の界面の密着性を向上させることで、接合時の熱応力による剥離を抑止し、信頼性の高い熱可塑性樹脂と金属のレーザ接合方法を提供する。
【解決手段】
接合前に、少なくとも熱可塑性樹脂の接合界面側には、表面改質処理を施すことによりバルク熱可塑性樹脂に比べ酸素官能基を多く含有した酸化層を形成する工程を有し、酸化層を形成した熱可塑性樹脂の表面エネルギーに比べ、接合面の金属の表面エネルギーを大きくした状態で、加圧し、レーザ照射して熱可塑性樹脂と金属を接合する。

Claims (16)
- 熱可塑性樹脂の界面に酸素官能基を生成・増加させる表面改質処理を行う工程と、
前記表面改質処理を行った熱可塑性樹脂の界面と金属とをレーザ照射で加熱することにより接合する工程とを有することを特徴とするレーザ接合方法。 - 請求項1において、
前記表面改質処理は、UVオゾン、プラズマ、コロナ処理、短パルスレーザ処理のいずれかのドライ処理であることを特徴とするレーザ接合方法。 - 請求項1または請求項2において、
前記接合する工程は、前記表面改質処理を行った界面の表面エネルギーに比べ、接合する面の金属の表面エネルギーを大きくした状態で行うことを特徴とするレーザ接合方法。 - 請求項1乃至3のいずれかにおいて、
前記レーザを、前記熱可塑性樹脂を介して前記金属の接合面に照射することを特徴とするレーザ接合方法。 - 請求項1乃至3のいずれかにおいて、
レーザ照射を前記金属側から行い、前記金属と前記熱可塑性樹脂との接合部に伝熱させることを特徴とするレーザ接合方法。 - 請求項1乃至5のいずれかにおいて、
前記熱可塑性樹脂の表面粗さに比べ、前記金属の表面粗さを大きい状態で前記接合を行うことを特徴とするのレーザ接合方法。 - 請求項1乃至6のいずれかにおいて、
前記熱可塑性樹脂は、その主鎖に極性基を含まないことを特徴とするレーザ接合方法。 - 請求項4において、
前記熱可塑性樹脂の接合面とは反対面に、前記表面改質処理を施し、
当該反対面を加圧材で押圧するとともに、前記熱可塑性樹脂と前記加圧材との間に水を介在させ、前記加圧材、前記水及び前記熱可塑性樹脂を介してレーザ照射することを特徴とするレーザ接合方法。 - 請求項1乃至8において、
前記熱可塑性樹脂または金属に凸部を形成してあり、当該凸部と接着対象である前記熱可塑性樹脂または金属とを接触させ、
前記接触させた部分に前記凸部の幅より大きいレーザスポットの前記レーザ光を照射することを特徴とするレーザ接合方法。 - 請求項9において、
前記凸部は前記金属に設けられていることを特徴とするレーザ接合方法。 - 請求項9において、
前記凸部は前記熱可塑性樹脂に設けられており、
前記金属側は、前記凸部よりも幅が広い凹部を設けられており、
前記凸部を凹部内に挿入した状態でレーザ照射することを特徴とするレーザ接合方法。 - 請求項1乃至8のいずれかにおいて、
前記金属は、前記レーザを照射される部分に溝を有していることを特徴とするレーザ接合方法。 - 請求項1乃至3のいずれかにおいて、
前記熱可塑性樹脂の接合面とは反対面を、金属製の加圧材で押圧するとともに、前記金属製の加圧材にレーザ照射して、前記金属と前記熱可塑性樹脂との接合部に伝熱させて接合することを特徴とするレーザ接合方法。 - 請求項5において、
前記熱可塑性樹脂の前記金属とは反対面を前記表面改質処理を行い、
当該反対面に接合部材が接した状態で、前記金属側から前記レーザ照射を行って、前記熱可塑性樹脂と前記接合部材とを接合することを特徴とするレーザ接合方法。 - 請求項14において、
前記接合部材は、金属または熱可塑性樹脂であることを特徴とするレーザ接合方法。 - 請求項4において、
前記金属の両面に、前記表面改質処理を行った熱可塑性樹脂を設け、
一方の前記熱可塑性樹脂を介してレーザ照射を行うことにより、前記金属の両面に前記熱可塑性樹脂を接合することを特徴とするレーザ接合方法。
