Abstract
Description
− ASTM法D1238により測定される、400℃、2.16kgの荷重下で8g/10分以上のメルトフローレート(MFR)を有する重量で0.1〜99.8%(重量%)の少なくとも1つのポリ(アリールエーテルケトン)ポリマー[本明細書では、以下、(PAEKHMF)ポリマー]、
− 10μm以下のD50粒径を有し、324℃以下の融解温度を有する0.1〜30重量%の少なくとも1つのポリ(テトラフルオロエチレン)ポリマー[本明細書では、以下、(PTFE)ポリマー]、
− 0.1〜30%重量%の少なくとも1つの炭素繊維
を含み、すべての%が組成物(C)の総容積を基準とする、
組成物[組成物(C)]に関する。
[式中:
− 各R’は、互いに等しいか又は異なり、ハロゲン、アルキル、アルケニル、アルキニル、アリール、エーテル、チオエーテル、カルボン酸、エステル、アミド、イミド、アルカリ金属又はアルカリ土類金属スルホネート、アルキルスルホネート、アルカリ金属又はアルカリ土類金属ホスホネート、アルキルホスホネート、アミン及び第四級アンモニウムからなる群から選択され;
− j’は、ゼロ、又は0〜4の整数である]
からなる群から選択される。
前記のように、組成物(C)は、10μm以下のD50粒径を有し、324℃以下の融解温度を有する少なくとも1つの(PTFE)ポリマーを含む。
任意選択的に、本発明の組成物(C)は、例えば、ポリマー組成物のある種の特性、とりわけ:短期の機械的性能(すなわち、機械的強度、靱性、硬度、剛性)、熱伝導性、クリープ強度及び破壊抵抗、高温寸法安定性、疲労抵抗などを改善するような添加物などの一又は複数の原料(I)を更に含み得る。前記他の原料(I)の非限定的な例は、とりわけ、ガラス繊維;ガラスビーズ;石綿繊維;ホウ素繊維(例えば、タングステン又はカーボネート糸上へのホウ素微粒剤の堆積により得られる)、金属繊維;窒化ケイ素Si3N4のようなセラミック繊維;タルク−ガラス繊維;ウォラストナイト・マイクロファイバーのようなケイ酸カルシウム繊維;炭化ケイ素繊維;窒化ホウ素、グラフェン、カーボンナノチューブ(CNT)、金属ホウ化物繊維(例えば、TiB2)二酸チタン及びそれらの混合物を含んでもよい。
− ASTM法D1238により測定され、400℃、2.16kgの荷重下で38g/10分〜45g/10分のメルトフローレート(MFR)を有する55〜75重量%の上述の少なくとも1つの(PEEKHMF)ポリマー、
− 3μm〜6μmのD50粒径を有し、320℃〜323℃の融解温度を有する、12〜18重量%の上述の少なくとも1つの(PTFE)ポリマー、
− 10〜20重量%の上述の炭素繊維
を含み、ここで、すべての%は組成物(C)の総重量を基準とする。
− 上に詳述されたような、少なくとも1つの(PAEKHMF)ポリマー;
− 上に詳述されたような、少なくとも1つの(PTFE)ポリマー;
− 上に詳述されたような、少なくとも1つの炭素繊維;
− 任意選択的に、上に詳述されたような、少なくとも1つの任意選択の他の原料(I)
を混合する工程を含む方法に関する。
KETASPIRE(登録商標)KT−880[MFR(400℃/2.16kg)は39.5g/10分であり;MV(400℃、1000s−1)は、0.15kPa・sであり;IVは0.75dl/g〜0.77dl/gである]は、Solvay Specialty Polymers USA,LLCから商業的に入手可能な芳香族ポリエーテルエーテルケトン(PEEK)ポリマーである。
PTFE:Polymist(登録商標)XPP−511は、20μmのD50粒径、329℃の融点Tm(II)を有するSOLVAY SPECIALTY POLYMERS ITALY S.p.A.から入手されるポリテトラフルオロエチレン粉末樹脂である。溶融粘度(MV)は、修正ASTM D1238−52T法により測定され、372℃で1×105Pa・s以下である。
PTFE:Algoflon(登録商標)L203は、6μmのD50粒径、328℃の融点Tm(II)を有するSOLVAY SPECIALTY POLYMERS ITALY S.p.A.から入手されるポリテトラフルオロエチレン粉末樹脂である。溶融粘度(MV)は、修正ASTM D1238−52T法により測定され、372℃で1×105Pa・s以下である。
PTFE:Polymist(登録商標)F5−Aは、4μmのD50粒径、326℃の融点Tm(II)を有するSOLVAY SPECIALTY POLYMERS ITALY S.p.A.から入手されるポリテトラフルオロエチレン粉末樹脂である。溶融粘度(MV)は、修正ASTM D1238−52T法により測定され、372℃で1×105Pa・s以下である。
PTFE:3MTM DyneonTM J14は、3MTM DyneonTMから入手されるポリテトラフルオロエチレン粉末樹脂であり、平均粒径は6μmであり、321℃の融点Tm(II)である。溶融粘度(MV)は、修正ASTM D1238−52T法により測定され、372℃で1×105Pa・s以下である。
炭素繊維:PAN−CF;刻まれたSGL Carbon Fibers Ltd.からSIGRAFIL(登録商標)C30 006 APSとして入手される長さ3〜6mm。
メルトフローレート(MFR)
両方ともASTM法D1238により、(PTFE)ポリマーのメルトフローレート(MFR)は、372℃、10kgの荷重下で測定し、PEEKポリマーのメルトフローレート(MFR)は、400℃で及び2.16kgの荷重下で測定する。ポリマー組成物のメルトフローレート(MFR)は、ASTM法D1238により、400℃、5kgの荷重下で測定する。
(PTFE)ポリマーの溶融粘度(MV)は、とりわけ米国特許第4380618号に記載されるように修正された手順ASTM D−1238−52Tにより372℃で測定する:シリンダー、オリフィス及びピストンチップは、耐腐食性合金、Haynes Stellite Co.により製造されるHaynes Stellite 19製である。5.0gの試料を、372℃に維持されている9.53mm(0.375インチ)内径シリンダーに装入する。試料をシリンダーに装入して5分後に、それを、5000グラムの荷重(ピストンプラス重り)下で2.10mm(0.0825インチ)直径、8.00mm(0.315インチ)長さの正方形エッジオリフィスを通して押し出す。これは、44.8KPa(平方インチ当たり6.5ポンド)のせん断応力に相当する。ポアズ単位の溶融粘度を、1分当たりのグラム単位の観察された押出速度で割った53170として計算する。
第2の融解温度は、加熱及び冷却工程が以下の表1に示すように実施される方法で修正されたASTM D3418法により測定した。
調製されたPEEK/PTFE/CFポリマー組成物の機械的特性は、タイプ1A(ISO 3167)試験検体を使用してISO標準により試験した。
− 曲げ強度及び曲げ弾性率:ISO 178
− 引張強度及び引張弾性率:ISO 527
− ノッチ付アイゾット衝撃:ISO 180
試料の摩擦及び摩耗挙動は、その全体を出典明示により本明細書に援用されるTribometerを用いて、GMプラスチック材料規格試験により、特に摩耗試験の「シーケンスB」プロトコル(高速及び低圧)GMW16771により評価した。この試験は、その規格試験に規定される順番に各工程を行うことでならし運転後に実施した。各工程での継続時間は、規定の荷重及びスピードで5分であり、それに、次の試験工程に進む前に30分間の停止が続いた。試験検体は、0.938インチ平均試料直径円上に120°離れて置かれた3つの0.25インチ×0.25インチ×0.13インチ平方形ピンからなり、あわせ面は、ASTM D3702標準による標準ASTMワッシャであった。
PEEKポリマーと所望量のPTFEポリマーとの乾式混合を、先ず、タンブルブレンドすることにより調製した。プレブレンドした混合物を次に、Berstorff 25mm二軸スクリュー押出機のメインホッパー(バレル1)へ供給した。所望量の炭素繊維(CF)を、バレル5に固定されたサイドフィーダー1へ重量測定して供給した。押出機は、44のL/D比と合計8つのバレルセクション及びバレルセクション7に置かれた真空ベントとを有した。押出物をカットして成形用のペレットにした。
Claims (13)
- − ASTM法D1238により測定される、400℃、2.16kgの荷重下で8g/10分以上のメルトフローレート(MFR)を有する重量で0.1〜99.8%(重量%)の少なくとも1つのポリ(アリールエーテルケトン)ポリマー[(PAEKHMF)ポリマー]、
− 10μm以下のD50粒径を有し、324℃以下の融解温度(TmII)を有する0.1〜30重量%の少なくとも1つのポリ(テトラフルオロエチレン)ポリマー[(PTFE)ポリマー]、
− 0.1〜30%重量%の少なくとも1つの炭素繊維
を含み、すべての%が前記組成物(C)の総重量を基準とする、
組成物[組成物(C)]。 - 前記(PAEKHMF)ポリマーは、組成物(C)の総重量を基準として55〜75重量%の量で存在する、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の組成物(C)。
- 前記(PAEKHMF)ポリマーの前記メルトフローレート(MFR)は、ASTM法D1238により測定され、400℃、2.16kgの荷重下で38g/10分〜45g/10分である、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の組成物(C)。
- 前記(PTFE)ポリマーの前記D50粒径が3μm〜7μmである、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の組成物(C)。
- 前記炭素繊維は、PAN系炭素繊維(PAN−CF)、ピッチ系炭素繊維、グラファイト化ピッチ系炭素繊維、及びそれらの混合物からなる群から選択され、好ましくは前記炭素繊維がPAN系炭素繊維である、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の組成物(C)。
- 前記炭素繊維は、組成物(C)の総重量を基準として10〜20重量%の量で存在する、請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の組成物(C)。
- − 少なくとも1つの(PAEKHMF)ポリマー、
− 少なくとも1つの(PTFE)ポリマー、
− 少なくとも1つの炭素繊維、
− 任意選択的に少なくとも1つの他の原料(I)
を混合することを含む、請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載のポリマー組成物(C)の製造方法。 - 前記(PAEKHMF)ポリマー、前記(PTFE)ポリマー、前記炭素繊維、及び任意選択的に他の原料(I)を乾式混合及び/又は溶融配合することにより混合する工程を含む、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記(PAEKHMF)ポリマー、前記(PTFE)ポリマー、前記炭素繊維、及び任意選択的に他の原料(I)が、連続式又はバッチ式装置で溶融配合される、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の組成物(C)を含む物品であって、好ましくは前記物品が軸受物品である物品。
- 請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の組成物(C)の射出成形、押出成形、ブロー成形、発泡加工、圧縮成形、鋳込み成形及びコーティングの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項12に記載の物品の製造方法。
