色増強剤は、色増強剤の不在下にて測定される成形品の硬度より高い硬度を有する材料を含む、という点において本発明によって達成される。
a)UHMWPE、着色剤、及び色増強剤を供給する工程と、
b)UHMWPEを成形して成形品にする工程と、
c)成形工程の前又は間に、色増強剤をUHMWPEに加える工程と、
d)成形工程の前、間、又は後に、着色剤をUHMWPEに加える工程と、を含む。
固有粘度(IV)は、ASTM−D1601/2004に従い、デカリン中135℃にて、溶解時間は16時間で、2g/lの量の溶液における抗酸化剤であるDBPCを用いて、濃度がゼロまでの異なる濃度において測定される粘度を推定することによって、求められる。IVとMwとの間には、いくつかの経験的関係が存在するが、このような関係は、モル質量分布に大きく依存する。式Mw=5.37×104[IV]1.37(欧州特許出願公開第0504954A1号明細書を参照されたい)に基づき、4.5dl/gのIVは、約422kg/モルのMwに等しくなるであろう。
Dyneema(登録商標)440−SK65を、平編みの13ゲージのShima Seiki編機にて、単一のジャージ構造において平方メートル当たり260グラムの面密度を有する布地に編んだ。引き続き、布地を、20分間、70℃で、1g/lのInvadine DA(Huntsman)及び1g/lの炭酸ナトリウムで洗浄し、その後、70℃で熱水にて、15℃で冷水にて洗い流した。次いで、洗浄し洗い流した布地に対して、Blue Cibacet EL−B(布地A)、Turquoise Cibacet G(布地B)、及びBlack Cibacet EL−FGL(布地C)をそれぞれ用いて、着色プロセスを実施した。25℃で染料助剤Univadine PBを水に加えることによって、染色槽を調製した。pHを、酢酸を用いて5.5に設定した。5分後、それぞれの染料を溶液に加えた。乾燥した布地に基づいてそれぞれ2重量%である助剤及び染料の量。洗い流した布地を染色槽に浸漬させ(100gの布地に対して約1リットル)、染色槽の温度を110℃の温度に上昇させ、60分間、一定温度に維持した。液体を排水する前に、染色槽を60℃に冷却する。引き続き、染色した布地を、熱水(70℃)及び冷水(15℃)で洗い流した。こうして得られた布地を、環境条件にて、24時間、風乾した。
欧州特許第0873445B1号明細書に記載の超臨界二酸化炭素下での乾燥プロセスを、布地に対して実施した違い以外は、比較実験Aを繰り返した。ここで、オートクレーブに置く前に、洗浄し洗い流した布地を、24時間、風乾した。オートクレーブに、乾燥布地に基づいて2重量%のBlue Cibacet EL−Bを投入し、二酸化炭素にて置換洗浄し、2℃/分の速度で120℃に加熱した。操作温度に達した後、撹拌し操作温度を維持しながら、二酸化炭素を用いてオートクレーブを25MPaまで加圧した。圧力及び温度を、60分の乾燥時間の間、維持した。乾燥時間の後、分当たり1MPaの速度で、圧力を解放しながら、オートクレーブを室温に冷却した。引き続き、染色した布地を、熱水(70℃)及び冷水(15℃)にて洗い流し、室温で24時間、風乾した。得られたDyneema(登録商標)440−SK65の着色された布地を、表1に表される色強度を求めるために評価した。
布地を編むために使用される糸が、5.5ミクロンの鉱物繊維の平均直径、及び27.0dl/gのIVを備える95重量%のUHMwPEを有するRB215−Roxul(商標)1000の商標名にて販売される、5重量%の鉱物繊維からなる乾燥ブレンド物からゲル紡糸技術によって調製された違い以外は、比較実験A、B、及びCと同一の実験を実施した。ここで、乾燥ブレンド物を、9重量%の濃度で、デカリンと混合させた。こうして得られたスラリーを、ギアポンプを備え25mmのスクリュー径を有する2軸押し出し成形機に送り込んだ。溶液を、こうして180℃の温度に加熱した。溶液を、それぞれの孔が1ミリメートルの直径を有する、64の孔を有する紡糸口金を通してポンプ圧送した。こうして得られたフィラメントを、全体で80の係数で延伸し、熱風オーブンにて乾燥した。乾燥後、フィラメントは、前述の布地に更に加工された。3つの染色した布地を、比較例A、B、及びCの乾燥プロセスによって調製し、布地1(Blue Cibacet EL−B)、布地2(Turquoise Cibacet G)、及び布地3(Black Cibacet EL−FGL)が得られた。布地1、布地2、及び布地3を、比較実験と同一の試験条件に供した。結果を表1に表す。EN ISO 105に従い、布地1に対して、耐変色性試験を更に実施した。結果を表2に表す。
実施例1〜3によって調製した布地を用いて、比較実験Dによる超臨界二酸化炭素の乾燥プロセスを繰り返した。結果を表1に更に表す。
Claims (15)
- a)UHMWPE、着色剤、及び色増強剤を供給する工程と、
b)前記UHMWPEを成形して成形されたUHMWPE物品にする工程と、
c)前記成形工程の前又は間に、前記色増強剤を前記UHMWPEに加える工程と、
d)前記成形工程の前、間、又は後に、前記着色剤を前記UHMWPEに加える工程と、
を含み、前記色増強剤は、前記色増強剤の不在下にて測定される前記成形された物品の硬度より高い硬度を有する材料である、着色され成形されたUHMWPE物品の色強度を増強する方法。 - 前記成形工程b)は、ゲル紡糸プロセスによって実施される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記着色剤は、溶液を含む着色剤によって前記成形工程の後に前記方法に加えられる、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 前記色増強剤の直径は、多くとも25ミクロンであることを特徴とする、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記成形品は、0.1〜20体積%の色増強剤を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記色増強剤の少なくとも一部は、少なくとも3のアスペクト比を有する硬質繊維であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記色増強剤は、ガラス、鉱物、若しくは金属から生成されるか、炭素繊維であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記硬質繊維は、紡糸繊維であることを特徴とする、請求項6又は7に記載の方法。
- 前記色増強剤を生成するために用いられる材料は、少なくとも2.5のモース硬度を有する、請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記成形品は繊維であり、前記繊維の力価は、多くとも15dtexである、請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記着色剤は、染料、好ましくは分散染料であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜10のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記着色剤は、多くとも2000g/モルの分子量を有することを特徴とする、請求項1〜11のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記着色剤は、アゾ染料、キノフタロン染料、及びアントラキノン染料からなる群から選択されることを特徴とする、請求項1〜12のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 請求項1〜13に記載の方法によって得られる、色強度が増強した、着色され成形されたUHMWPE物品。
- 請求項14に記載の着色され成形されたUHMWPE物品を含む製品。
