Abstract
Description
ポリマーブロックAは、主に、ポリ(モノビニル芳香族炭化水素)ブロックである。本発明の目的のために、「主に」は、ポリマーブロックAについて、ポリマーブロックAが、少なくとも75重量%、好ましくは少なくとも90重量%のモノビニル芳香族炭化水素で構成されていることを意味する。ブロックの残りの部分は、典型的には、重合したオレフィン系モノマーである(定義には、他のビニル化合物およびジエンも含む。)。さらに好ましくは、ポリマーブロックAは、実質的に同じ重合したモノマーで構成されており、つまり、さらに好ましくは、ポリマーブロックAは、少なくとも95重量%のモノビニル芳香族炭化水素で構成されている。最も好ましくは、ポリマーブロックAは、100重量%のモノビニル芳香族炭化水素で構成されている。
硬化可能な機能性化合物(I)をブロックコポリマー(i)と組み合わせて用いることができる。硬化可能な機能性化合物(I)は、本明細書に開示するブロックコポリマー成分(i)のポリマー末端ブロックAと少なくとも部分的に相溶性である任意の化合物であってもよい。硬化可能な機能性化合物の溶解パラメーターは、典型的には、ポリマー末端ブロックAの溶解パラメーターに近い。
熱ラジカル開始剤の例は、ペルオキシド化合物およびアゾ化合物である。このような化合物の多くは、当分野でよく知られており、市販されている。具体的な化合物は、分解してラジカルを生成する温度が異なる。有用な温度範囲を決定するために、熱ラジカル開始剤の半減期を知ることが重要である。従って、例えば、ベンゾイルペルオキシドの半減期t1/2が1時間である温度は91℃であり、この半減期が10時間である温度は71℃である。過安息香酸 t−ブチルについて、t1/2が1時間または10時間である温度は、それぞれ125℃または105℃である。1,1’−アゾビス(シクロヘキサンカルボニトリル)について、t1/2が1時間または10時間である温度は、それぞれ105℃または88℃である。
例示的な実施形態では、ブロックコポリマー(i)を硬化可能な機能性化合物(I)、光開始剤、可塑剤と合わせ、ケーブル充填組成物中でゲルである硬化性ポリマー組成物を得る。一例は、光ファイバーケーブルを含め、ケーブルのための充填材料または保護材料であってもよい。得られたゲルは、チキソトロピー性ゲルおよび乾燥ケーブルにとって有利な特性を示す硬化性ポリマー組成物である。室温で、本明細書に開示する硬化可能な機能性化合物(I)は、ポリマー末端ブロックAの溶媒として作用し、硬化性ポリマー組成物は、凝集性を失い、流体となる。硬化前に、硬化性ポリマー組成物は、圧送、混合または塗布がしやすい。望ましい形状が作られたら、硬化性ポリマー組成物を硬化させ、硬化可能な機能性化合物(I)を重合させることができる。硬化中および硬化後に、硬化可能な機能性化合物(I)は、エラストマー性組成物またはブロックコポリマー(i)の強化樹脂として作用する。硬化が終了したら、得られた硬化性ポリマー組成物は凝集性となる。
表3は、表4に開示する比較ポリマー組成物7を作成するのに使用される比較ポリマーCの組成および分子構造を記載する。
表5は、表6に開示する比較ポリマー組成物8を作成するのに使用される比較ポリマーDの組成および分子構造を記載する。
Claims (20)
- (i)少なくとも1つのポリマーブロックBによって分割された少なくとも2つのポリマーブロックAを含み、それぞれのポリマーブロックAが、主にポリ(モノビニル芳香族炭化水素)ブロックであり、ポリマーブロックBが、水素添加された共役ジエンを含む炭化水素ポリマーブロックである、熱可塑性ブロックコポリマーと、
(ii)ポリマーブロックAと相溶性である硬化可能な機能性化合物と、
(iii)場合により開始剤と
を含む、硬化性ポリマー組成物。 - それぞれのブロックAが、約9,000以下の真の分子量を有する、請求項1に記載の硬化性ポリマー組成物。
- 硬化可能な機能性化合物が、8.72から12(cal/cm3)1/2の溶解パラメーターを有する、請求項1に記載の硬化性ポリマー組成物。
- 硬化可能な機能性化合物が、脂肪族ポリオールのアクリレートまたはメタアクリレートである、請求項1に記載の硬化性ポリマー組成物。
- 50重量%以上の可塑剤をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の硬化性ポリマー組成物。
- 開始剤が光開始剤である、請求項1に記載の硬化性ポリマー組成物。
- ブロックコポリマーが、構造A−B−Aまたは(A−B)nXを有し、Xが、カップリング剤の残基であり、nは、2以上である、請求項1に記載の硬化性ポリマー組成物。
- 請求項6に記載のポリマー組成物を含む光ファイバーケーブル。
- 請求項6に記載のポリマー組成物を含むシーラント。
- 充填材料を含むケーブルであって、当該充填材料はポリマー組成物を含み、当該ポリマー組成物が、
(i)少なくとも1つのポリマーブロックBによって分割された少なくとも2つのポリマーブロックAを含み、それぞれのポリマーブロックAが、主にポリ(モノビニル芳香族炭化水素)ブロックであり、ポリマーブロックBが、水素添加された共役ジエンを含む炭化水素ポリマーブロックである、熱可塑性ブロックコポリマーと、
(ii)ポリマーブロックAと相溶性である硬化可能な機能性化合物と、
(iii)パラフィン系またはナフテン系の増量油と、
(iv)場合により開始剤と
を含む、ケーブル。 - ケーブルが、光ファイバーを含む、請求項10に記載のケーブル。
- ポリマー組成物が硬化された、請求項10に記載のケーブル。
- それぞれのブロックAは、9,000以下の真の分子量を有する、請求項10に記載のケーブル。
- 硬化可能な機能性化合物が、8.72から12(cal/cm3)1/2の溶解パラメーターを有する、請求項10に記載のケーブル。
- 硬化可能な機能性化合物が、脂肪族ポリオールのアクリレートまたはメタアクリレートである、請求項10に記載のケーブル。
- 光ファイバーケーブルを充填する方法であって、充填材料が、ポリマー組成物を含み、当該ポリマー組成物が、
(i)少なくとも1つのポリマーブロックBによって分割された少なくとも2つのポリマーブロックAを含み、それぞれのポリマーブロックAが、主にポリ(モノビニル芳香族炭化水素)ブロックであり、ポリマーブロックBが、水素添加された共役ジエンを含む炭化水素ポリマーブロックである、熱可塑性ブロックコポリマーと、
(ii)ポリマーブロックAと相溶性である硬化可能な機能性化合物と、
(iii)パラフィン系またはナフテン系の増量油と、
(iv)場合により開始剤と
を含み、前記充填材料をケーブルに圧送することと、
前記ポリマー組成物を硬化させることを含む、方法。 - それぞれのブロックAが、9,000以下の真の分子量を有する、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 硬化可能な機能性化合物が、8.72から12(cal/cm3)1/2の溶解パラメーターを有する、請求項16に記載の方法。
