Abstract
【解決手段】密封装置7がシール板10とスリンガ11からなり、シール部材13が、径方向外方に傾斜して立板部11bに摺接するサイドリップ13b、13cと、この内径側に径方向内方に傾斜して円筒部11aに摺接するグリースリップ13dを備え、各リップ13d、13b、13cの摺接部にグリース15が塗布され、グリースリップ13dの先端部に軸受内方側に突出する環状の舌片17が一体に形成されると共に、円筒部11aの端部に径方向外方に延びる環状の屈曲部16が形成され、これと舌片17が僅かなすきまを介して対向しラビリンスシール18が構成され、グリース15を溜める環状の保持部19が形成されている。

図1は、本発明に係る密封装置を備えた車輪用軸受の一実施形態を示す縦断面図、図2(a)は、図1の密封装置を示す要部拡大図、(b)は、(a)の要部拡大図、図3は、図2の密封装置の変形例を示す要部拡大図、図4は、図3の密封装置の組立状態を示す説明図である。なお、以下の説明では、車両に組み付けた状態で車両の外側寄りとなる側をアウター側(図1の左側)、中央寄り側をインナー側(図1の右側)という。

Claims (6)
- 内周に複列の外側転走面が一体に形成された外方部材と、
外周に前記複列の外側転走面に対向する内側転走面が形成された内方部材と、
この内方部材と前記外方部材のそれぞれの転走面間に転動自在に収容された複列の転動体とを備えた車輪用軸受に装着され、前記外方部材と内方部材との間に形成される環状空間の開口部を密封する車輪用軸受の密封装置であって、
前記密封装置が、断面が略L字状に形成されて互いに対向配置された環状のシール板とスリンガとからなるパックシールで構成され、
前記シール板が、前記外方部材の端部内周に圧入される円筒状の嵌合部と、この嵌合部の端部から径方向内方に延びる内径部からなる芯金、およびこの芯金に加硫接着により一体に接合されたシール部材とを備え、
前記スリンガが、前記内方部材の外径に圧入される円筒部と、この円筒部から径方向外方に延びる立板部とからなり、
前記シール部材が、前記芯金の内周面を覆う基部と、この基部から径方向外方に傾斜して形成され、前記スリンガの立板部に摺接するサイドリップと、このサイドリップの内径側に径方向内方に傾斜して形成され、前記スリンガの円筒部に摺接するグリースリップを備えた車輪用軸受の密封装置において、
前記グリースリップとサイドリップの摺接部に予めグリースが塗布されると共に、
当該グリースリップの先端部に軸受内方側に突出する環状の舌片が一体に形成され、前記グリースを溜めるための環状の保持部が形成されていることを特徴とする車輪用軸受の密封装置。 - 前記スリンガの円筒部の端部が径方向外方に折り曲げられて環状の屈曲部が形成され、この屈曲部と前記舌片が僅かなすきまを介して対向し、ラビリンスシールが構成されている請求項1に記載の車輪用軸受の密封装置。
- 前記屈曲部の端面が軸受外方側に漸次拡径するテーパ面に形成されている請求項2に記載の車輪用軸受の密封装置。
- 前記屈曲部のテーパ面の小径側の外径が前記スリンガの円筒部の外径よりも小径に形成されている請求項3に記載の車輪用軸受の密封装置。
- 前記各リップの摺接部に塗布されるグリースが、軸受部の潤滑のために封入されるグリースと少なくとも同じ基油からなる請求項1に記載の車輪用軸受の密封装置。
- 前記グリースの混和ちょう度が260〜300の範囲に設定されている請求項1または5に記載の車輪用軸受の密封装置。
