Claims (19)
- バッテリーセルアセンブリであって、
(a)2以上のバッテリーセルを含むバッテリーセルアレイであって、その各々が、密閉された状態で電解質と一緒にバッテリーケースに配置され、横方向に配列される、カソード/セパレーター/アノード構造の電極アセンブリを有する、バッテリーセルアレイ、及び
(b)バッテリーパックの動作を制御するため前記バッテリーセルアレイの上側端部に接続される、保護回路モジュール(PCM)であって、バッテリーセルの外側又はバッテリーセルアレイの外側が、バッテリーセルの電極端子を除いて、インサート射出成形により樹脂でコートされる、保護回路モジュール、
を具備するバッテリーセルアセンブリ。 - 前記樹脂が、ゴム又はプラスチックである請求項1に記載のバッテリーセルアセンブリ。
- 前記バッテリーセルアレイの外側及び前記防止回路モジュールの外側が、インサート射出成形により、ゴム又はプラスチックで完全にコートされる、請求項1に記載のバッテリーセルアセンブリ。
- 前記保護回路モジュールは、抵抗溶接により前記バッテリーセルの電極端子に接続された接続端子、バッテリーセルを互いに電気的に接続するために金属プレート、及びバッテリーパックの動作を制御するために保護回路、を具備する請求項1に記載のバッテリーセルアセンブリ。
- 前記バッテリーセルを互いに電気的に接続するために前記金属プレートは、保護回路モジュールの上で形成される請求項4に記載のバッテリーセルアセンブリ。
- 前記バッテリーセルのカソード端子の間の電気接続領域及び保護回路モジュールは、保護回路モジュールのそれぞれの接続端子の上に取り付けられた導電性プレートが溶接されて、導電性プレートがバッテリーセルのそれぞれのカソード端子を包むようにされる、構造を有するように構成される請求項4に記載のバッテリーセルアセンブリ。
- 各導電性プレートは、前記保護回路モジュールの接続端子のうちの対応する1つの上に取り付けられる第1接続部分と、前記バッテリーセルの対応する1つのカソード端子の上に取り付けられる第2接続部分と、を具備する請求項6に記載のバッテリーセルアセンブリ。
- 各導電性プレートは、ニッケルプレートであり、前記バッテリーセルの各カソード端子は、アルミニウム端子である請求項7に記載のバッテリーセルアセンブリ。
- 前記バッテリーセルのそれぞれは、ポーチ形状の二次バッテリーである請求項1に記載のバッテリーセルアセンブリ。
- 前記バッテリーセルアセンブリに電流を入力する、前記バッテリーセルアセンブリから電流を出力する、及び情報を送信及び受信する、外部入力及び出力端子が、窪んだ形態で、保護回路モジュールの前部に取り付けられる、請求項1に記載のバッテリーセルアセンブリ。
- 請求項1によるバッテリーセルアセンブリ及びそのバッテリーセルアセンブリが配置されるパックケースを具備するバッテリーパック。
- 前記パックケースは、バッテリーセルアレイ及び保護回路モジュールが配置される下側ケースと、バッテリーセルアレイと保護回路モジュールを適所に固定するように下側ケースを覆うための上側ケースと、を具備する請求項11に記載のバッテリーパック。
- 下側ケースは、前記バッテリーセルが配置されるバッテリーセル取り付け部分と、前記保護回路モジュールが配置される保護回路モジュール取り付け部分と、に区分けされることができ、
仕切り壁が、前記バッテリーセル取り付け部分と前記保護回路モジュール取り付け部分との間の境界で形成され、一方、前記バッテリーセルの電極端子が保護回路モジュールに向かって露出されてそこを通る開口部が、前記バッテリーセルの電極端子と前記保護回路モジュールの間の電気的接続領域に対応する仕切り壁の部分に形成される、請求項12に記載のバッテリーパック。 - 保護回路モジュール取り付け部分は、バッテリーセルの電極端子と保護回路モジュールの間の電気的接続領域を支持するための支持部を具備する請求項13に記載のバッテリーパック。
- 電力源として、請求項11に記載のバッテリーパックを具備するラップトップコンピューター。
- バッテリーパックを製造する方法であって、
(a)2以上のバッテリーセルを配列するステップであって、それらの各々は、バッテリーセルを形成するため横方向で、密閉された状態で電解質と一緒にバッテリーケースに配置されたカソード/セパレーター/アノードの電極アセンブリを有する、ステップと、
(b)バッテリーパックの動作を制御するため保護回路モジュール(PCM)の接続端子を、抵抗溶接により、前記バッテリーセルアレイの上側端部に配置された前記バッテリーセルの電極端子に結合するステップと、
(c)下側ケース上に前記バッテリーセルアレイ及び前記保護回路モジュールを配置し、バッテリーセルアレイと保護回路モジュールを適所に固定するため上側ケースで前記下側ケースを覆うステップと、
を含む、バッテリーパックを製造する方法。 - ステップ(a)は、さらに、各バッテリーセルをモールドに配置するステップと、バッテリーセルの外側を、バッテリーセルの電極端子を除いてインサート射出成形により樹脂でコートするステップとを含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
- ステップ(a)は、さらに、バッテリーセルアレイをモールドに配置するステップと、バッテリーセルアレイの外側を、バッテリーセルの電極端子を除いてインサート射出成形により樹脂でコートするステップとを含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
- ステップ(b)は、さらに、PCMが抵抗溶接により接続されるバッテリーセルアレイをモールドに配置するステップと、バッテリーセルアレイ及びPCMをインサート射出成形により樹脂でコートするステップとをさらに含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
