本発明の譲受人に譲渡された、同時係属中の、Levey他によって2007年6月22日に出願された「OLED Display with Aging and Efficiency Compensations」と題する米国特許出願第11/766,823号(米国特許出願公開第2008/0315788号)、及び本発明の譲受人に譲渡された、同時係属中の、Leon他によって2007年12月21日に出願された「Electroluminescent Display Compensated Analog Transistor Drive Signal」と題する米国特許出願第11/962.182号(米国特許出願公開第2009/0160740号)が参照され、それらの開示は参照により本明細書に援用される。

Claims (19)
- エレクトロルミネッセント(EL)デバイスであって、
a)1つ又は複数の主ELエミッターを有する照明エリアと、
b)基準ELエミッターを有する基準エリアと、
c)該ELデバイスが動作している間に、前記基準ELエミッターに光を放射させるための基準ドライバー回路と、
d)前記基準ELエミッターによって放射された光を検出するためのセンサーと、

を備える、エレクトロルミネッセント(EL)デバイス。 - 前記コントローラーは、前記個々の主ELエミッターの効率の損失を補償する補正済み入力信号を形成するように構成される、請求項1に記載のELデバイス。
- 前記センサーは、前記コントローラーに色データを与えるための測色計、分光光度計又は分光放射計を含み、前記コントローラーは、経時変化に起因する前記個々の主ELエミッターの色度シフトを補償する補正済み入力信号を形成するように構成される、請求項1に記載のELデバイス。
- 前記基準エリアは、複数の基準ELエミッターと、前記個々の基準ELエミッターに光を放射させるための複数の対応する基準ドライバー回路と、前記個々の基準ELエミッターによって放射される光を検出するための複数の対応するセンサーと、前記個々の基準ELエミッターが光を放射している間に、該個々の基準ELエミッターの個々の経時変化関連電気パラメーターを検出するための複数の対応する測定ユニットとを有し、前記コントローラーは、複数の前記検出された光及び前記経時変化関連電気パラメーターのうちの1つ又は複数を用いて、各入力信号から補正済み入力信号を形成する、請求項1に記載のELデバイス。
- 前記基準ELエミッターが光を放射している間に、該基準ELエミッターの温度に関連する温度パラメーターを測定するための温度測定ユニットを更に備え、前記コントローラーは、前記測定された温度パラメーターを用いて、前記補正済み入力信号を形成する、請求項1に記載のELデバイス。
- 前記基準ドライバー回路は、前記基準ELエミッターに、異なる時点において2つのレベル、すなわち、測定レベル及びフェードレベルにおいて光を放射させ、前記基準ELエミッターが前記測定レベルにおいて光を放射する間に、該基準ELエミッターの測定が行われる、請求項1に記載のELデバイス。
- 前記フェードレベルは前記測定レベルよりも高い、請求項6に記載のELデバイス。
- 各入力信号は、対応する前記主ELエミッターの個々の放射レベルを制御し、前記フェードレベルは前記個々の放射レベルの最大値よりも大きい、請求項6に記載のELデバイス。
- 検出された光測定値及び対応する経時変化関連電気パラメーター測定値を格納するためのメモリを更に備え、前記コントローラーは、前記メモリに格納された前記値を用いて前記補正済み入力信号を形成する、請求項1に記載のELデバイス。
- 前記基準ドライバー回路は、前記基準ELエミッターに、複数の測定レベルにおいて連続して光を放射させ、前記基準ELエミッターの個々の測定は、前記基準ELエミッターが各測定レベルにおいて光を放射する間に行われる、請求項1に記載のELデバイス。
- 前記基準ELエミッター及び全ての主ELエミッターは同一である、請求項1に記載のELデバイス。
- 前記基準ドライバー回路は、前記基準ELエミッターに試験電流を与え、該基準ELエミッターに光を放射させる、請求項1に記載のELデバイス。
- 前記ELデバイスが動作している間に作動するタイマーを更に備え、前記基準ELエミッターの測定は、前記タイマーによって決定された間隔で行われる、請求項1に記載のELデバイス。
- 前記基準ELエミッターの測定は、前記ELデバイスが熱平衡状態にある間に行われる、請求項1に記載のELデバイス。
- 前記基準ELエミッターの測定は、前記ELデバイスが動作している間に行われる、請求項1に記載のELデバイス。
- 第2の基準ELエミッターを有する第2の基準エリアを更に含む、請求項1に記載のELデバイス。
- 前記ELデバイスはELディスプレイである、請求項1に記載のELデバイス。
- 前記経時変化関連電気パラメーターは電圧又は電流である、請求項1に記載のELデバイス。
- 各主ELエミッター及び基準ELエミッターは有機発光ダイオードエミッターである、請求項1に記載のELデバイス。
