Abstract

例えば任意の脳卒中、脳出血、外傷性脳損傷、脳術後、パーキンソン、多発性硬化症、先天異常、ALS、脳性麻痺、核上性麻痺、あるいは他の神経疾患または損傷、および随意運動制御に影響を及ぼす他の任意の神経障害、ならびに先天異常を経験した、ヒトおよび動物を含む、多種多様な患者を、本明細書において企図されるデバイスおよび方法を用いて治療することができる。「運動制御」という用語は、意のままに筋活動を制御する能力を意味する。例えば、一実施形態では、本発明は、意のままに嚥下する能力に適応可能である。したがって、嚥下する能力の完全なまたは部分的な喪失である嚥下困難のある患者を、本発明の方法を用いて治療することができる。
本発明の方法は、当業者に知られる任意のタイプの刺激の使用を企図する。そのような刺激は、振動刺激、圧力刺激、聴覚刺激、温度刺激、視覚刺激、電気刺激、嗅覚刺激、味覚刺激、および/またはそれらの組合せを含むがそれらに限定されない。刺激は、電気的、機械的、化学的、生物学的に制御しても、当業者に知られる他の任意の方法によって制御してもよい。
刺激のための部位は、所望の運動制御に応じて調整される。運動障害を引き起こす疾患の経験のある治療医師または他の関連保健専門家などの当業者なら、刺激をどこに位置付けるべきかを理解するであろう。嚥下困難の場合、喉頭の上の喉部に対する刺激が企図される。
本発明の方法によれば、神経障害によって影響を受けた患者が、スイッチを活性化して、代替部位を刺激し始める。例えば、嚥下困難のある患者では、患者が、喉頭部分の上の頸部に対して振動または圧力、あるいはその両方をもたらすデバイスを作動させるスイッチを活性化することができる。そのような活性化は、患者の嚥下の随意制御を促進するために、患者が嚥下しようとしている間である嚥下の直前および嚥下中に行うことができる。しかし、デバイスの活性化の正確なタイミングは、患者および疾患に応じて変化してよい。当業者なら、活性化を必要に応じてどのように修正するかについて理解されよう。一実施形態では、スイッチが、運動の随意的な試行の0〜5秒前、別の実施形態では10ミリ秒(「ms」)〜1.5秒前、別の実施形態では50ms〜750ms前、別の実施形態では100ms〜500ms前、好ましくは200ms〜400ms前に活性化される。
本発明の一実施形態は、図11に示す振動刺激器システムである。このデバイスの目的は、患者/利用者の随意制御下で、振動触覚刺激を喉上の皮膚、ならびに舌骨喉頭筋および喉頭筋にもたらすことである。感覚刺激を喉部にもたらすことによって、患者/利用者は、脳幹内にも皮質内にもある中枢神経系の中心への感覚入力を開始して、嚥下、発語および/または発声の開始の随意制御を強化することができる。
一実施形態では、嚥下または話すことなど、生理学的に障害のある機能を動かすまたは実施しようとする随意的な試みの直前に、刺激がアサートされる。一実施形態では、その試みの1〜10秒前、0.1〜1秒前、0.2秒〜0.5秒前、または0.2〜0.4秒前に、刺激がアサートされる。刺激は、同時にアサートされてよいが、好ましくは、影響を受けた体部位に対して定位置に保持されたデバイスを介して、この定められた時間によって予め行われる。他の時間およびデバイスが、本発明の当業者(すなわち、神経生理学研究者と共に働き、神経生理学研究者から情報が与えられる生物医学エンジニア)には理解されよう。
圧力および/または電気刺激は、望ましくは、1〜100Hz、5〜50Hzの周波数で印加され、より望ましくは、30〜50Hzの周波数で印加される。電気刺激が使用される場合それは、舌骨を下方に頸部内に引っ張るので嚥下に有害な、皮膚の下に潜在する筋肉の活性化を惹起しないように、低レベルであるべきである(Ludlow等、2006年)。電気刺激は、広い面積(10cm2)にわたって25mA未満でなければならず、あるいは面積がより狭い場合は、0.01〜10mA、0.1〜7mA、0.5〜5mA、または1〜3mAなど、より少なくなければない。10mA、7mA、5mA、4mA、3mA、より望ましくは2mAを超えないレベルが、特に有用である。20〜70Hzの刺激が、いくつかの低コストの実施形態では望ましい。というのも、その要件の場合、機器が容易に入手可能なためである。
一実施形態では、本発明は、喉頭など、影響を受けた体部位に接触して配置されるように適合された少なくとも1つの刺激デバイスと、患者によって活性化されるスイッチと、使用に関する指示と、デバイス用の容器とを含むキットに関する。指示は、望ましくは、本明細書に列記される1つまたは複数の方法ステップに対応する少なくとも1つの指示を含む。一実施形態では、バッテリなどの電源が、刺激デバイス内にある。一実施形態では、使用中に刺激器を覆う使い捨てカバーが含まれる。一実施形態では、刺激デバイスが、1つまたは複数のバルーンあるいは1つまたは複数のチューブなど、チャンバ内の圧力を増大させる少なくとも1つのポンプを含む。デバイスはさらに、デバイスによって作用された圧力を監視するための、圧力、伸張、体積、電力、または他のセンサを含むことができる。一実施形態では、デバイスは、所望の圧力または運動、ならびに/あるいは電気刺激の量を設定するためのスイッチをさらに含む。スイッチは、刺激の周波数および/または振幅を設定するためにあってもよい。別の実施形態では、皮膚に接触するデバイスは、温度、皮膚色、ヘマトクリット、酸素化、血圧など、1つまたは複数の生理学センサをさらに含む。一実施形態では、デバイスは、ディスプレイおよび/または電磁伝送によって、結果を報告する。一実施形態では、デバイスは、嚥下事象を監視および/または記録する。例えば、デバイスは、望ましくは嚥下事象の存在(および任意選択で深さ)を、頸部周囲の帯上または帯内にあり、かつ/または喉頭の上の表面のところの、圧電伸張受容器または他のセンサを介して監視する(HolzerおよびLudlow、1996年;Burnett等、2005年を参照されたい)。
(実施例1)
嚥下の時点でボタンを押圧するように患者を訓練することにより、患者の安全に嚥下する能力が高まったことを示す研究
嚥下中に筋刺激するこれまでの手法では、筋疲労を引き起こすことがある、嚥下訓練中の長期間の連続刺激を使用し(Freed、Freed、ChatburnおよびChristian、2001年)、またはオトガイ下筋の表面筋電図検査(EMG)を使用して、活動を検出しようと試みてきた(Leelamanit、LimsakulおよびGeater、2002年)。しかし、オトガイ下EMG信号はしばしば、嚥下の口腔期中に行われる咀嚼活動によって混乱する。我々は、正常なボランティアにおいて、筋肉内刺激が舌骨喉頭複合体の挙上をもたらし得ること(Burnett、Mann、CornellおよびLudlow、2003年)、ならびに正常なボランティアが、筋肉内刺激を誘発させるためのボタン押圧を、嚥下の咽頭期の開始と同時に正確に同期させることを容易に学習できること(Burnett、Mann、StoklosaおよびLudlow、2005年)をこれまでに示してきた。
本研究は、次の、a)訓練後に、嚥下中の筋肉内刺激を用いて気道保護が改善する、b)嚥下訓練により、刺激なしで嚥下中の患者の気道保護が改善する、またc)訓練後に、刺激を受けた嚥下中の方が、疑似刺激嚥下に対して気道保護が改善される、という仮説についてテストした。
経口栄養補給のできない、重度の慢性嚥下困難のある10人の患者が、嚥下中の気道侵入および誤嚥に対する筋肉内刺激の影響の実現可能性を研究するために選択された。患者は、この研究に参加する前に、注射器から少量(2〜3ml)の水を嚥下しようとする間に、ボタンを押圧する、または咽頭期の開始時間を合図することができるかどうかを判定するためのテストを受けた。
慢性咽頭嚥下困難のある患者全員が、少なくとも5回の連続試行に対して、ボタン押圧を患者が嚥下の咽頭期を開始しようとする試みに正確に同期させるという実験前の基準を満たすことができ、20回の訓練試行中に80%の精度を有した。
これらの結果は、筋肉内刺激を患者自身の嚥下と調和させるように患者を訓練することが、重度の慢性嚥下困難において、嚥下中の気道保護の改善をもたらすことを示す。これらの患者はそれぞれ、その嚥下困難が開始した直後(脳卒中後、パーキンソン病中、外傷性脳損傷、または脳腫瘍の手術後)に、嚥下困難の徹底的な治療を以前に受けていた。早期の介入にも関わらず、各患者は、開始後6ヶ月間、誤嚥の大きなリスクにさらされたままであり、経腸栄養補給を必要とし続けていた。大多数の人は、その人自身の唾液に対処することができず、一部の人は、唾液を制御するために、吸引することが必要であった。ベースライン嚥下と比較した、筋肉内刺激による気道保護の改善は、改善した軽度の患者を除く全員において有望であった。ベースライン嚥下の測定に比べて、訓練後の刺激なしの嚥下の改善が低めであったことが予想外であった。これは、慢性咽頭嚥下困難のある人において、刺激と、患者が嚥下の咽頭期の随意制御をしようとする試みとの間の調整を改善するための5回の訓練試行で、筋肉内刺激による舌骨喉頭運動の改善の増大に加えて、ある程度の治療上の利点が生じた可能性があることを示唆した。
重度の慢性咽頭嚥下困難のある患者における、喉部への低レベルの感覚刺激が、患者の安全に嚥下する能力を強化するが、喉の筋肉を活性化させる高レベルの電気刺激が、それらの患者において嚥下を強化しないことを示した研究
慢性咽頭嚥下困難において、表面電気刺激を使用して、刺激が1)安静時に印加されたとき、舌骨および/または喉頭を低下させる、また2)嚥下中の誤嚥、侵入、または咽頭の貯留を増加させるという2つの仮説についてテストした。双極表面電極を、下顎下部および喉頭部を覆う皮膚上に配置した。患者が安静時にその口を閉じた状態に保つ間、最大許容レベルの刺激を印加した。ビデオ蛍光透視記録を使用して、刺激がオンおよびオフの間に、上下方向(s-i)寸法および前後方向(a-p)寸法における舌骨の運動、ならびに声門下の 気柱の(s-i)位置を測定した。患者は、刺激がオフのとき、低感覚刺激レベル時、および最大許容レベル(運動)時に、5mlの液体を嚥下した。状態に対して盲検化された医療言語聴覚士が、嚥下のビデオフルオログラフィ記録から、誤嚥、侵入、貯留、および食道への侵入の頻度を記録した。安静時刺激中に、大幅な(p=0.0175)舌骨沈下だけが生じた。誤嚥および貯留は、低感覚しきい値レベルの刺激を用いてのみ大幅に低減され(p=0.025)、最大レベルの表面電気刺激中には大幅に低減されなかった。刺激を用いて嚥下中の誤嚥および侵入が低減したこれらの患者には、安静時刺激中に、舌骨のより大きな沈下があった(p= 0.006)。刺激は、嚥下中の患者の舌骨挙上に抵抗するように作用した可能性がある。
表面電気刺激は、近年、嚥下困難における嚥下治療を補助するものとして、さらに高く注目されてきている(Freed、Freed、ChatburnおよびChristian、2001年;Leelamanit、LimsakulおよびGeater、2002年;Park、O'NeillおよびMartin、1997年;Power等、2004年)が、嚥下の生理学に対する経皮刺激の影響については、ほとんど知られていない。電気刺激は、舌骨喉頭挙上を増大させることによって(Freed、Freed、ChatburnおよびChristian、2001年;Leelamanit、LimsakulおよびGeater、2002年)、または中枢神経系への感覚入力を増大させて、嚥下の惹起を強化することによって(Park、O'NeillおよびMartin、1997年;Power等、2004年)、嚥下を助けることができると仮説が立てられてきた。
参加者の選択基準は、慢性安定咽頭嚥下困難があること、6ヶ月以上誤嚥のリスクにさらされていること、ミニメンタルステート検査(Folstein、FolsteinおよびMcHugh、1975年)上で21点以上の得点があること、厳しく食事制限されていること、および/または経腸栄養補給を通じて栄養を受けていること、ならびに研究の時点で医学的に安定していることを含んでいた。研究に対して加えられるためには、全ての参加者は、研究のスクリーニング部分の間に、ビデオ蛍光透視検査上で、液体の場合の誤嚥のリスクを実演しなければならなかった。
参加前に、参加者には説明と同意が施され、参加者は、同意内容を理解していることを示すために、10の質問に正確に答えなければならなかった。VitalStim(登録商標)電極(Chattanooga Group、テネシー州ヒクソン、#59000)およびVitalStim(登録商標) Dual Channel Unitを、この研究のために使用した。2セットの電極を使用し、上部セットを、顎舌骨筋部の上のオトガイ下部内の、舌骨の上方に水平に配置した(図5)。底部セットを、甲状軟骨の上の皮膚上の、正中線の両側の、甲状舌骨筋中央から胸鎖乳突筋までの部分の上に配置した。この電極アレイは、最初の2人の著者(WijtingおよびFreed、2003年)の認定訓練中に効果的であるとして推奨されたものであった。直径19mmのボールベアリングを、測定の較正のために、頸部の側面にテープ留めした。
各試行のビデオを、2次元運動測定システムであるPeak Motus 8(ViconPeak、コロラド州センテニアル、80112)を使用して、オフラインで取り込んだ。このシステムには、〜60フィールド/s(〜30フレーム/s)の、またフレームサイズが608×456ピクセルのビデオキャプチャボードが装備されていた。ボールベアリングの半径(9.5mm)が、水平方向および垂直方向のあらゆる測定の較正に使用された。研究者が、各ビデオフレーム上で、カーソルを使用して第2および第4椎骨の最前下コーナの点を特定し、これらの2点間に直線を引いてy軸を定義した。第2または第4椎骨が見えない場合、第1および第3椎骨の底部前下コーナを、同じようにして使用した。下部椎骨の前下コーナのところでy軸に垂直な線が、x軸となった。全ての点に関するx座標およびy座標を、起点である第2椎骨の前下コーナに対して、舌骨の運動方向に関して前点および上点が正となり、後点および下点が負となる状態で、mm単位で決定した。4つの点、すなわち2つの点在する椎骨それぞれの前下点、舌骨の前下点、および声門下の気柱内の最後上点(喉頭の位置を追跡するため)を、各フレームについて印付けした。
4人の経験を積んだ認定医療言語聴覚士が、評点システムを決定するために、ランダムに選択された被験者のスクリーニングビデオテープを初めに検査した。いくつかの嚥下を、Rosenbek Penetration-Aspiration Scale(Rosenbek、Robbins、Roecker、CoyleおよびWood、1996年)(Pen-Asp)を用いて評価した後、その誤嚥のリスクのため経腸栄養補給状態にある参加者の多くが、正常範囲内で、すなわちそのスケール上で得点1を得点できることが指摘された。これは、梨状陥凹内に極度の残留貯留があっても侵入または誤嚥が発生せず、またボーラスが少しも食道に入らない場合に生じた。これらの参加者は、試行後に残留物質があればそれを口中に吐き戻し、液体を少しも嚥下しなかったが、物質が気道に入らなかったため、正常として得点した。Pen-Aspスケール上での得点1は上限(正常)であり、改善の測定を可能にしないため、このスケールでは、これらの患者において、嚥下の悪化を測定することしかできなかった。したがって、上限の影響のないもう1つのスケールが開発された。NIH Swallowing Safety Scale(SSS)は、この患者グループに見られる、侵入および誤嚥を伴う、またそれらを伴わない、貯留と食道への侵入の欠如とが関係する異常を捕らえた。嚥下を採点する際、得点1を、次の異常、すなわち喉頭蓋谷内の貯留、下咽頭から前庭内への侵入、梨状口内の貯留、および梨状口から喉頭前庭内への後退侵入(back up penetration)のそれぞれの発生に対して割り当てた。上部食道から入り、そこから除去するボーラス物質の量を、上部食道を通じて何も入らなかった場合に3、最少量が入った場合に2、中程度の量が入った場合に1、および全てのボーラスが除去された場合に0として評点した。さらに、各嚥下サンプルにおける誤嚥の合計数を計数した。正常な嚥下だけに、このスケール上で合計0が与えられ、最大得点は、単一の嚥下中に発生した誤嚥回数または他のボーラス流の異常に応じて、13もの高得点に達し得た。
位置測定の信頼性を判定するために、2人の検査員が、10人の被験者のうち4人に対して、x軸およびy軸上の舌骨、ならびにy軸上の喉頭に関する位置を各フレーム上で測定し、次いで、刺激を受けた状態および刺激されない状態の間の、それぞれについての平均値を計算した。General Linear Model Systat 11(Systat Software, Inc.、カリフォルニア州リッチモンド)からの出力を使用して、被験者因子内、および被験者因子間に関する平均平方差を計算した。被験者間の平均平方差を得て、被験者内の平均平方差を減算し、次いでその結果を、被験者間の平均平方差と被験者内の平均平方差との和で除算することによって、級内相関係数(ICC)を計算した(Fleiss、1999年)。
参加者
11人の参加者全員に、慢性長期嚥下困難があった(表1)。参加者の障害は、6人がCVA後(6ヶ月超後)、2人が良性腫瘍のための開頭術後(2および4年後)、または2人が外傷性脳損傷後(2および3年後)であった。1人の患者だけが、慢性進行性神経疾患、20年を上回るパーキンソン病、および2年を上回る持続期間にわたる嚥下困難を有していた。
オン刺激状態およびオフ刺激状態における、y軸上での舌骨の運動に関するICCはそれぞれ、0.99および0.94であり、x軸上での舌骨の運動に関しては、0.94および0.87であった。刺激「オン」および「オフ」位置における、y軸上での喉頭に関するICCはそれぞれ、0.58および0.66であり、それらの測定に対して信頼性がずっと少ないことを示した。喉頭の運動は極めて小さく、刺激「オン」における0.4mmの平均位置から「オフ」状態における0.18mmの範囲であるので、測定の変動性が、この測定上の変動の一因となった。
第1の仮説について取り上げると、「オフ」刺激状態と「オン」刺激状態の間の平均位置を比較する片側方向性t検定により、y軸上での舌骨位置の大幅な低下が示された(t=-2.523、df=9、p=0.016)(図5を参照されたい)。図6では、刺激器が「オン」にされ、次いで「オフ」にされ、次いで再度「オン」にされたときの、各患者における舌骨の運動の個々のトレーシングが示してあり、刺激器が「オフ」にされたとき、舌骨が挙上することが示されている。安静時刺激を用いて舌骨が後方に移動するという第2の仮説について取り上げると、被験者内の「オフ」刺激状態および「オン」刺激状態における平均位置を比較する方向性t検定が、有意ではなかった(t=-0.102、df=9、p=0.460)。同様に、方向性t検定では、刺激中のy軸上での喉頭位置の下降がないことが分かった(t=0.696、df=9、p=0.748)。
21回繰り返し行われた評点からなる第1組の後、ICCはPen-Aspスケール上で0.965であり、NIH-SSS上で0.764であった。NIH-SSSの信頼性に関する懸念のため、我々は、不一致が生じた各項目について、より詳細な判定ルールを実施した。新しい判定ルールを使用した18回の信頼性測定からなる第2組は、NIH-SSSに関して0.925のICCをもたらし、判定ルールが開発され、実施された後にそのスケールを使用する際の十分な信頼性を示した。
時間の制約のため、10人の参加者のうち8人だけが感覚状態を完了した。感覚レベルの刺激を用いて嚥下が改善するという第4の仮説について取り上げると、参加者内の刺激されない嚥下と刺激を受けた嚥下との間の評点の平均変化を比較するように、1サンプル方向性t検定を計算した。結果は、0.05/2=0.025のボンフェローニ補正されたp値を使用して、Pen-Aspスケール上では有意ではなかった(t=0.336、df=7、p=0.373)が、NIH-SSS上では有意であった(t=.2.355、df=7、p=0.025)。これは図7に示してある。8人の参加者のうち6人が、嚥下中の感覚刺激によってNIH-SSS上で低減を示し、一方8人の参加者のうち5人が、Pen-Aspスケール上で低減を示した。
刺激中に誤嚥のリスクおよび嚥下の安全性が悪化するという第5の仮説について取り上げると、参加者内の刺激されない嚥下と刺激を受けた嚥下との間の評点の平均変化を調べるように、1サンプル方向性t検定を計算した。結果は、0.05/2=0.025のボンフェローニ補正されたp値において、Pen-Aspスケール(t=0.363、df=9、p=0.637)上でもNIH-SSS (t=-0.881、df=9、p=0.201)上でも有意ではなかった。NIH-SSSスケール上では、10人の参加者のうち5人が、運動レベルの刺激でリスクを増大させ(図8A)、一方Pen-Asp上では、等しい数の参加者が、運動レベルの刺激で増大または低減した(図8B)。
Pen-Aspスケール上での参加者の初期重度と、感覚刺激を用いた嚥下の変化との間のピアソン相関係数は、有意ではなかった(r=0.142、p=0.737)。同様に、NIH-SSS上での患者の初期重度および感覚刺激を用いた嚥下の変化(r=0.701、p=0.053)も、統計的有意性を得る目的で0.025のボンフェローニ補正されたα値を使用して有意ではなかった。統計的有意性を得る目的で0.025のボンフェローニ補正されたα値を使用して、Pen-Aspスケール上での参加者の初期重度と運動刺激を用いた嚥下の変化との間のピアソン相関係数は、有意ではなく(r=-0.501、p=0.140)、NIH-SSS上での参加者の初期重度と、運動刺激を用いた嚥下の変化との間の相関もまた、有意ではなかった(r=-0.190、p=0.599)。
ピアソン相関係数を、統計的有意性を得る目的で0.025のボンフェローニ補正されたα値を使用して、安静時刺激中に舌骨が頸部内に引き下げられる程度と、Pen-AspおよびNIH-SSS上での嚥下の変化との間で計算した。NIH-SSS上での改善の程度と、運動レベルの安静時刺激中に舌骨が沈下する程度との間に、有意な関係は見い出されなかった(r=-0.388、n=9、p=0.302)。運動刺激中のPen-Aspスケール内での改善は、運動レベルの安静時刺激中に舌骨が沈下する程度に対して、有意に逆相関した(r= -0.828、n=9、p=0.006)。この関係は、安静時に最も大きな舌骨沈下のある人が、嚥下する間の運動レベルの刺激中に、Pen-Aspスケール上で最も大きな低減を有することを示した。
本研究の第1の目的は、頸部内の舌骨および喉頭の位置に対する、表面電気刺激の生理学的な影響を明らかにすることであった。我々は、オトガイ下電極対と喉頭電極対の両方が、参加者の最大許容レベルで刺激しているとき、恐らく胸骨舌骨筋の刺激のため、舌骨が下方に引っ張られると予測した。データにより、この仮説が支持され、参加者のうち2人を除き全員に、安静時刺激中に5〜10mmほどもの舌骨の沈下があった(図6Aおよび6B)。我々は、舌骨が後方に引っ張られる可能性があるとも予測したが、舌骨では、限られた前後方向の運動が発生した。3人の参加者に、一事例では5mmもの舌骨の前方運動があったが、残りの参加者では、後方に最小限の運動があった。2人の参加者の喉頭において、最小限の上昇運動(2〜3mm)が発生したが、他の参加者のだれもが、少しの評価可能な喉頭の運動も経験せず(図6D)、この2〜3mmの変化は、場合によっては測定変動によるものであった。これらの知見をまとめると、表面電気刺激の唯一評価可能な運動の影響は、舌骨を頸部内に下降させて、嚥下に必要な方向とは反対方向の運動をもたらすことであった。
具体的に列記されていない参考文献は、著者を検索することによって文献内で探し出すことができる。2005年3月28日出願の、Methods and Devices for Intramuscular Stimulation of Upper Airway and Swallowing Muscle Groupという名称の米国特許出願公開第10/529,401号明細書が、参照によりその全体が組み込まれる。その特許出願内に見られる参考文献は、本明細書において呈示された諸実施形態で使用することが企図される刺激デバイスおよび方法の詳細に関して特に関連するものであり、それらに関して参照により組み込まれる。

Claims (22)
- 被験者の喉部に対する刺激を提供するためのシステムにおいて、
振動触覚刺激器と、
被験者の喉部の上で前記振動触覚刺激器を位置決めするように構成されているストラップと、
被験者によって随意操作されるように構成されているボタンと、
前記振動触覚刺激器およびボタンと通信して、被験者によるボタンの随意操作時に振動触覚刺激器に対して刺激信号を送信するように構成されているコントローラと
を備えていることを特徴とするシステム。 - 前記振動触覚刺激器は、20Hzから1000Hzまでの間の振動周波数を有していることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記振動触覚刺激器は、50Hzから2000Hzまでの間の振動周波数を有していることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記振動触覚刺激器は、30Hzから60Hzまでの間の振動周波数を有していることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記振動触覚刺激器は、30Hzから50Hzまでの間の振動周波数を有していることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記振動触覚刺激器は、刺激信号を受信すると約2秒から6秒の間動作するように構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1から5のうちのいずれか一項に記載のシステム。
- 前記振動触覚刺激器は、刺激信号を受信すると約0秒から5秒の間動作するように構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1から5のうちのいずれか一項に記載のシステム。
- 振動触覚刺激器の速度および持続時間のうちの少なくとも1つの選択を可能にするように構成されているコントロールボックスを更に備えていることを特徴とする請求項1から7のうちのいずれか一項に記載のシステム。
- 前記コントローラは、振動触覚刺激器と有線で通信することを特徴とする請求項1から8のうちのいずれか一項に記載のシステム。
- 前記コントローラは、振動触覚刺激器と無線で通信することを特徴とする請求項1から8のうちのいずれか一項に記載のシステム。
- 前記コントローラは、ボタンと有線で通信することを特徴とする請求項1から10のうちのいずれか一項に記載のシステム。
