Claims (22)
- メディアデバイスによって、電子番組ガイド(EPG)情報にアクセスする方法であって、前記方法が、
番組コンテンツストリームのデータチャネル内のEPG情報の第一部分を受信することと、
前記メディアデバイスとリモートEPGコンテンツシステムとの間の通信リンクを確立することと、
前記確立された通信リンクを介して前記リモートEPGコンテンツシステムからEPG情報の第二部分を受信すること、
を含む方法。 - 前記データチャネル内の前記EPG情報が、周期的に反復されるシリアルフォーマットにて通信され、前記EPG情報の前記第二部分が、デジタルビデオ放送(DVB)規格及び米国テレビ規格委員会(ATSC)規格のうちの少なくとも1つにしたがったムービング・ピクチャー・エクスパーツ・グループ(MPEG)フォーマットにて通信される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記EPG情報の前記第二部分を前記リモートEPGコンテンツシステムから前記メディアデバイスに押し出すことをさらに含み、前記EPG情報の前記第二部分が予め画定されている、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記メディアデバイスを開始時刻に開始することをさらに含み、前記EPG情報の前記第二部分を前記メディアデバイスへ押し出すことが、実質的な前記開始時刻に始まり、予め画定された期間を包含する番組情報を含む、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記EPG情報の第二部分を前記リモートEPGコンテンツシステムから前記メディアデバイスに引き出すことをさらに含み、前記EPG情報の前記第二部分が前記メディアデバイスによって選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 対象となる番組チャネルを識別することをさらに含み、前記EPG情報の前記第二部分が、前記対象となる識別された番組チャネルで利用できる番組に対応する、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記対象となる番組チャネルが、現在、前記メディアデバイスからメディアプレゼンテションデバイスに通信される、現在の番組チャネルに対応する、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 対象となる時刻を識別することをさらに含み、前記EPG情報の前記第二部分が、前記対象となる時刻に始まり、予め画定された期間を包含する、利用可能な番組に対応する、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記対象となる時刻が、現在の時刻に対応する、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記対象となる時刻が、前記EPG情報の前記第一部分における前記EPG情報の終了時刻に対応する、請求項8に記載の方法。
- チューナをチャネル合わせして、前記EPG情報の前記データチャネルを有する前記番組コンテンツストリームを受信することをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記リモートEPGコンテンツシステムから対象となる補足的EPG情報を引き出すことをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 少なくとも1つの番組チャネルと、その中にEPG情報の第一部分を有するEPGデータチャネルとを受信するように構成された番組コンテンツストリームインターフェースと、
リモートEPGコンテンツシステムへの通信リンクを確立するように構成され、かつ、EPG情報の第二部分を受信するように構成されたバックチャネルインターフェースと、
前記番組コンテンツストリームインターフェース及び前記バックチャネルインターフェースと通信可能に結合され、前記EPG情報の前記第一部分と前記EPG情報の前記第二部分からEPGを構成するプロセッサシステムと、
を含む、メディアデバイス電子番組ガイド(EPG)アクセスシステム。 - 前記プロセッサシステムに通信可能に結合され、リモートコントロールから番組チャネル選択を受信するように構成されたリモートインターフェースをさらに含み、
前記プロセッサシステムが、前記選択された番組チャネルに基づいて対象となるEPG情報を識別し、
前記識別された対象となるEPG情報が、前記リモートEPGコンテンツシステムへ通信され、前記リモートEPGコンテンツシステムが、前記通信リンクで前記識別された対象となるEPG情報に対応する前記EPG情報の前記第二部分を前記メディアデバイスに通信する、請求項13に記載のメディアデバイスEPGアクセスシステム。 - 前記バックチャネルインターフェースがモデムであって、前記通信リンクが前記リモートEPGコンテンツシステムにあるサーバに対してインターネット上で確立される、請求項13に記載のメディアデバイスEPGアクセスシステム。
- 前記受信された少なくとも1つの番組チャネルと、前記EPGデータチャネルとが衛星信号内にある、請求項13に記載のメディアデバイスEPGアクセスシステム。
- 電子番組ガイド(EPG)情報をデータチャネルでEPG情報の第一部分を受信するメディアデバイスに通信する方法であって、
リモートEPGコンテンツシステムと前記メディアデバイスとの間の通信リンクを確立することと、
EPG情報の第二部分を、前記確立された通信リンクを介して前記リモートEPGコンテンツシステムから前記メディアデバイスへ通信することを
含む方法。 - 前記メディアデバイスから特定されたEPG情報に関するリクエストを受信することをさらに含み、前記EPG情報の前記第二部分が、前記特定されたEPG情報を含む、請求項17に記載の方法。
- データチャネルでEPG情報の第一部分を受信するメディアデバイスへEPG情報を提供する電子番組ガイド(EPG)アクセスシステムであって、
前記メディアデバイスへの通信リンクを確立するように構成され、かつ、前記通信リンクでEPG情報の第二部分を前記メディアデバイスに通信するように構成された、バックチャネルインターフェースと、
記憶された現在のEPG情報を有するメモリと、
前記バックチャネルインターフェース及び前記メモリと通信可能に結合したプロセッサシステムであって、前記通信リンクで受信された前記メディアデバイスから受信した情報に基づいて、前記EPG情報の前記第二部分を構成するプロセッサシステムを含む電子番組ガイド(EPG)アクセスシステム。 - 前記バックチャネルインターフェースがサーバであり、前記通信リンクが前記メディアデバイスにあるモデムに対してインターネット上で確立され、前記サーバが前記メディアデバイス内で実行するウェブブラウザエージェントからのハイパーテキスト・トランスファー・プロトコル(HTTP)リクエストに対応する、請求項19に記載のEPGアクセスシステム。
- メディアデバイスによって電子番組ガイド(EPG)情報にアクセスするための方法であって、前記方法が、
番組コンテンツストリームインターフェースを介して番組コンテンツストリームを受信することと、
メディアデバイスとリモートEPGコンテンツシステムとの間の通信リンクを確立することと、
EPG情報の一部分を前記確立された通信リンクを介して前記リモートEPGコンテンツシステムから受信すること、
を含む方法。 - 前記番組コンテンツストリームを受信することが、前記番組コンテンツストリームをその中に有する衛星信号を受信することを含む、請求項21に記載の方法。
