Abstract
Description
本発明は、ポリオレフィン繊維を製造するための方法およびこれにより得ることのできるポリオレフィン繊維に関する。本発明は同様に、このポリオレフィン繊維の利用分野にも関する。
ポリオレフィン繊維は、典型的に、押出しダイからポリオレフィンを含む流体組成物を紡糸することにより製造される。この要領で作られるポリオレフィン繊維は、例えば、複数の繊維を撚合することにより、マルチフィラメント糸にされてよい。同様にポリオレフィン繊維を、モノフィラメント様の繊維を含めたさらなる製品を作るための前駆体として使用してもよい。これを行なう1つの方法は、複数の前駆体ポリオレフィン繊維を1つの最終製品に融合させることにある。欧州特許第0740002B1号明細書では、フィラメント材料の糸から釣り糸を製造するプロセスにおいて、ゲル紡糸ポリオレフィンフィラメントの糸から作られた編組、加撚、または加撚かつ諸撚りされた釣り糸が、1.01〜2.5の範囲内の伸張比で伸張される一方で、隣接するフィラメントを少なくとも部分的に融合させるのに充分な時間前記ポリオレフィンの融点範囲内の温度に曝露されるプロセスが記述されている。このプロセスにおいて利用される糸は、連続マルチフィラメント糸、より具体的には、超高モル質量ポリエチレン(UHMwPE)のいわゆるゲル紡糸により作られた糸、例えばSpectra(登録商標)またはDyneema(登録商標)などの名称で市販されている糸である。
本発明の目的は、上述の制限および/またはその他の制限が削減されている、ポリオレフィン繊維を製造する新規方法を提供することにある。
ポリオレフィン繊維の製造方法において、少なくとも1つのポリオレフィンテープを提供するステップと;少なくとも1つのポリオレフィンテープを長手方向に加撚するか折畳むことによって前駆体繊維を得るステップと;前駆体繊維の2つ以上の部分を少なくとも部分的に融合させるのに充分な時間、前駆体繊維を張力下でポリオレフィンの融点範囲内の温度に曝露するステップと、を含む方法が提供されている。
・ IV:固有粘度は、異なる濃度で測定した粘度をゼロ濃度に対し外挿することによって、デカリン中135℃でPTC−179方法(Hercules Inc.Rev.Apr.29、1982)にしたがって判定され、ここで溶解時間は16時間、酸化防止剤としてのDBPCの量は溶液1lあたり2gであった。
・ dtex:繊維の線密度(dtex、g/10km)は、長さ10mの繊維片を秤量することによって測定した。mg単位の測定重量がdtexである。
・ 引張り特性:引張り試験は、500mmという繊維の公称ゲージ表を用いて、ASTMD885Mにしたがい、1kNのロードセルおよびInstron放物線繊維グリップの備わったInstron Z010引張り試験装置上で実施された。引張り強度は、各々の個別試料について測定された破壊時の力および線密度から決定された。引張り係数は、0.3〜1.0%歪のコードモジュラスとして決定された。破壊時の伸長および歪は、ゼロ歪で0.08Nの張力で100mmのゲージ長を使用することによって決定された。このゲージ長は、平坦空気圧グリップ区分(flat pneumatical grip section)の始めまで放物線グリップ区分上の全繊維長を内含していた。引張り試験中の歪速度は50mm/分であった。
[1.1 ゲル紡糸されたUHMwPEモノフィラメントテープの製造]
[実施例1]
ゲル紡糸プロセスを介して、UHMwPEモノフィラメントテープを作った。デカリン中のIV20dl/gのUHMwPEの8wt%溶液を、約160℃で、1つのスピンホールをもつスピンプレートを通して溶液モノフィラメントテープへと紡糸した。溶液モノフィラメントテープを72mm×0.8mmのスロットから5mmのエアギャップに出し、水浴中に入れた。溶液モノフィラメントテープを、約30℃に保たれた水浴中で冷却してゲルテープを得、エアギャップに1.8という延伸比が適用されるような速度でこれを巻き取った。スピン速度は、2.8m/分で一定に保たれた。ゲルテープをその後さらに、125℃の平均温度で20の延伸比で延伸して、部分延伸テープを得た。部分延伸テープを、その幅より小さい幅のスロットを有する巻回装置を用いて、ボビンに巻回した。こうして部分延伸テープは長手方向に折畳まれることになった。スピン仕上げは適用されなかった。この折畳まれた部分延伸テープをその後、151℃の平均温度で3.5の延伸比で延伸して、完全延伸テープを得た。
実験を実施例1と類似の要領で実施したが、部分延伸テープは、実施例2ではさらに延伸させず、完全延伸テープを得るための第2の延伸ステップの延伸比は、実施例3、4および5についてそれぞれ2.5、3.0および4.0であった。糸の引張り特性を、以上で記述された方法にしたがって測定し、結果を表1に示す。
実施例1と類似の要領で実験を実施したが、部分延伸テープは、スロット無しで巻回装置を用いて巻回した。こうして長手方向の折畳み無しでテープを得た。
[実施例7〜10]
全体として円形断面を有するモノフィラメント繊維を、実施例1にしたがって作ったテープを再整形することにより製造した。テープを300t/mで加撚し、151℃の温度で再度伸張させた。パラフィン油といった融合助剤は、パラフィン油が機械的特性の低下を導くことが判明したため、適用しなかった。伸張中、実施例7〜10についてそれぞれ、1.5、1,6、1.7および1.8の延伸比を得るため、各例について表2に記されている通りに張力を加えた。加撚したテープは、モノフィラメント繊維を結果としてもたらした。テープの引張り特性を、上述の方法にしたがって測定し、結果を表2に示す。強度は非常に高く、一つの実施例においては、38.9cN/dtexという高い強度が得られた。この強度は、多数のフィラメントから得られる公知の融合系よりも高いものである。この強度が高いことの理由は、融合多重フィラメント由来の糸が本発明に係る繊維に比べ融合により作られる界面がさらに多いという点にあると考えられるが、それに限定されない。
UHMWPEの細かい粉末床を圧縮成形し圧延することにより調製したテープを、本発明にしたがった繊維製造プロセスに付した。当初のテープの幅は110mm、厚みは45μmであった。テープの強度は、16cN/dTexと測定された。テープをまず最初に細断して、幅を3mmにした。得られたテープを300t/mおよび450t/m(1メートルあたりの巻回数)で加撚した。加撚テープならびに非加撚テープの引張り特性を上述の方法にしたがって測定し、結果を表3に示す。
実施例11〜14についてそれぞれ、1.1、1.2、1.3および1.4の延伸比で150.6℃で、300t/mで加撚したテープを延伸した。延伸比は、被動ロールの速度間の比から計算する。パラフィン油のような融合助剤は一切適用しなかった。加撚したテープは、モノフィラメント繊維を結果としてもたらした。以上で記述した方法にしたがって繊維の引張り特性を測定し、結果を表4に示す。
450t/mで加撚したテープを、表5に示されたそれぞれの温度および延伸比で延伸した。パラフィン油などの融合助剤は一切適用しなかった。加撚したテープは、モノフィラメント繊維を結果としてもたらした。以上で記述した方法にしたがって繊維の引張り特性を測定し、結果を表5に示す。
Claims (15)
- ポリオレフィン繊維の製造方法において、
a) 少なくとも1つのポリオレフィンテープを提供するステップと;
b) 前記少なくとも1つのポリオレフィンテープを長手方向に加撚するか折畳むことによって前駆体繊維を得るステップと;
c) 前記前駆体繊維の2つ以上の部分を少なくとも部分的に融合させるのに充分な時間、前記前駆体繊維を張力下でポリオレフィンの融点範囲内の温度に曝露するステップと、
を含む方法。 - 前記ポリオレフィン繊維が1本のポリオレフィンテープで作られている、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ポリオレフィンテープがHMwPEまたはUHMwPEテープである、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 前記ステップa)が、
− HMwPEおよび/またはUHMwPEを含む流体組成物を提供するステップと;
− 異方性形状を有するスピンホールを通して、前記流体組成物から流体テープを紡糸するステップと;
− 前記流体テープを冷却して固化テープを得るステップと;
− 少なくとも1つの延伸ステップにおいて少なくとも1方向に前記固化テープを延伸するステップと;
を含む、請求項3に記載の方法。 - 前記延伸ステップが、少なくとも1.5、好ましくは少なくとも5、より好ましくは少なくとも10の延伸比で、長手方向にのみ実施される、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記延伸ステップが、少なくとも10という面積延伸比で少なくとも2方向に実施される、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記流体組成物が溶媒中のUHMwPE溶液であり、少なくとも部分的に前記溶媒を除去するステップを含む、請求項4、5または6に記載の方法。
- 前記流体組成物が、最高800,000の分子量を有するHMwPEおよび/またはUHMwPEの溶融体である、請求項4、5または6に記載の方法。
- 前記ステップa)が、組合せたエンドレスベルト間にHMwPEおよび/またはUHMwPEを含むポリマー粉末を供給するステップと、前記ポリマー粉末をその融点より低い温度で圧縮成形するステップと、前記結果として得られた圧縮成形ポリマーを圧延しその後延伸するステップとを含んでいる、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記ステップc)が実施される間、前記加撚されたまたは折畳まれたテープは延伸比1.01〜5.0、好ましくは1.1〜3.0、より好ましくは1.2〜2.5、さらに一層好ましくは1.4〜2.0、さらに一層好ましくは1.5〜1.8で延伸されている、請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 好ましくは、実質的に円形の断面を有する、請求項1〜10のいずれか一項に記載の方法により得ることのできる繊維。
- 前記繊維が少なくとも30cN/dtex、好ましくは少なくとも35cN/dtexの強度を有する請求項11に記載の繊維。
- 前記繊維が実質的に円形の断面および少なくとも100μm、好ましくは少なくとも120μm、より好ましくは少なくとも150μmの直径を有する請求項11または12に記載の繊維。
- 前記繊維が少なくとも0.5μm好ましくは少なくとも1μmの表面粗度Raを有する、請求項11、12または13に記載の繊維。
- 請求項11〜14のいずれか一項に記載の繊維を含む釣り糸。
