Abstract
【解決手段】回折格子11を、第1の格子領域11aと第2の格子領域11bとに分け、それぞれの格子を同一形状かつ格子ピッチが同一となる溝12により形成し、第1の格子領域の溝に対して第2の格子領域の溝を格子ピッチ方向に所定量ずれて配設する。第1及び第2のレーザ光のそれぞれの0次光(メインビーム)と±1次光(サブビーム)との各ビームを異なる回折状態で光ディスクに照射することができ、異なるトラックピッチの光ディスクに対してそれぞれに対応した各サブビームを照射することができ、トラックピッチが大きく異なる光ディスクをアクセスの対象とする光ピックアップ装置において1枚の回折格子で対応でき、装置のコンパクト化かつ低コスト化を促進し得る。

Claims (3)
- 光ディスクの種類に対応して異なる波長の第1及び第2のレーザ光を互いに平行に出射するレーザ光源と、前記レーザ光源から出射された前記第1及び第2のレーザ光をそれぞれ0次光と±1次光とに回折してトラッキング制御に用いるビームを生成する回折格子とを有し、
前記回折格子は、第1のレーザ光を回折する第1の格子領域と、格子が前記第1の格子領域と同一の形状でありかつ前記第1の格子領域に対して格子ピッチ方向に偏倚して配設された第2の格子領域とを有する単板からなり、
前記第1の格子領域と前記第2の格子領域との両方により前記第2のレーザ光を回折することを特徴とする光ピックアップ装置。 - CD用の前記±1次光の前記0次光に対するトラック方向の偏倚は略1.5トラックであり、
DVD用の前記±1次光の前記0次光に対するトラック方向の偏倚は、DVD±R/RWで略2.5トラックであり、DVD−RAMで略1.5トラックであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光ピックアップ装置。 - 前記第1のレーザ光がCD用であり、前記第2のレーザ光がDVD用であることを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2に記載の光ピックアップ装置。
