また、異なる種類の光ディスクの各トラックピッチの違いに対して、同一形状かつ同一格子ピッチの各格子領域間で容易に調整可能な位相シフトで、それぞれのトラッキング制御に用いることができるビームを生成することができる。

Claims (2)
- 光ディスクの種類に対応して異なる波長の第1及び第2のレーザ光を互いに平行に出射するレーザ光源と、前記レーザ光源から出射された前記第1及び第2のレーザ光をそれぞれ0次光と±1次光とに回折してトラッキング制御に用いるビームを生成する回折格子とを有し、
前記回折格子は、第1のレーザ光を回折する第1の格子領域と、格子が前記第1の格子領域と同一の形状でありかつ前記第1の格子領域に対して格子ピッチ方向に偏倚して配設された第2の格子領域とを有する単板からなり、
前記第1の格子領域と前記第2の格子領域との両方により前記第2のレーザ光を回折し、
CD用の前記±1次光の前記0次光に対するトラック方向の偏倚は略1.5トラックであり、
DVD用の前記±1次光の前記0次光に対するトラック方向の偏倚は、DVD±R/RWで略2.5トラックであり、DVD−RAMで略1.5トラックであることを特徴とする光ピックアップ装置。 - 前記第1のレーザ光がCD用であり、前記第2のレーザ光がDVD用であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光ピックアップ装置。
