Abstract
【解決手段】製袋包装機100は、プルダウンベルト機構23と、縦シール機構2と、制御部29とを備える。プルダウンベルト機構は、筒状フィルムFmを搬送する。縦シール機構は、プルダウンベルト機構によって搬送されている筒状フィルムに圧力および超音波振動を与えて、筒状フィルムをシールする。制御部は、プルダウンベルト機構によって搬送される筒状フィルムの速度、および、縦シール機構によって筒状フィルムに与えられる超音波振動の振幅を制御する。制御部は、プルダウンベルト機構によって筒状フィルムの搬送が開始される第1時点に移行する直前の時間領域において、筒状フィルムに超音波振動を与える。制御部は、第1時点に移行した後の時間領域において、筒状フィルムの速度に応じた振幅を有する超音波振動をフィルムに与える。

Description
本発明の実施形態に係る製袋包装機100の概略構成図を図1に示す。製袋包装機100は、ポテトチップスなどの被包装物を筒状に成形したフィルムで覆い、フィルムを縦方向および横方向にシールして、被包装物が入った袋を製造する機械である。
成形機構1は、チューブ11と、フォーマー12とを有している。チューブ11は、円筒形状の部材であり上下端が開口している。チューブ11の上端の開口部には、被包装物であるポテトチップスCが投入される。フォーマー12は、チューブ11を取り囲むように配置されている。フォーマー12は、フィルム供給部から送られたシート状のフィルムFが、フォーマー12とチューブ11との間を通るときに筒状フィルムFmに成形されるような形状を有している。筒状フィルムFmは、フィルムFの水平方向の両端部が互いに重なっている重なり部分を有する。チューブ11およびフォーマー12は、製造する袋の大きさに応じて取り替えることができる。
縦シール機構2は、プルダウンベルト機構23によって下方に搬送される筒状フィルムFmの重なり部分に、超音波振動および圧力を与えて縦方向にシールする機構である。縦シール機構2の外観図を図2に示す。縦シール機構2は、ホーン21とアンビル22とを有している。ホーン21は、超音波振動子21aおよびエアシリンダ21bに連結されている。アンビル22は、チューブ11の外周面に取り付けられ、ホーン21の先端面と対向して配置される。ホーン21は、超音波振動子21aが発振した超音波に基づいて、超音波振動を引き起こす。ホーン21は、エアシリンダ21bの内部の空気圧に基づいて、アンビル22に向かって進退する。ホーン21は、アンビル22との間に筒状フィルムFmを挟持した状態で、筒状フィルムFmを超音波振動によって加熱して溶融させ、筒状フィルムFmをアンビル22に向かって押し当てて加圧する。これにより、筒状フィルムFmの重なり部分が溶着してシールされる。
横シール機構3は、成形機構1および縦シール機構2の下方に配置されている。横シール機構3は、ヒータを内蔵する一対のシールジョー31を有している。一対のシールジョー31は、それぞれ、製袋包装機100の正面から見て筒状フィルムFmの前側および後側に配置されている。一対のシールジョー31は、それぞれ、前後対称の略D字状の軌跡Tを描くように旋回する。一対のシールジョー31は、旋回の途中で、互いに押しつけ合う状態で筒状フィルムFmを挟持し、袋の上下の端部となる筒状フィルムFmの部分に圧力および熱を加えてシールする。
被包装物であるポテトチップスCは、製袋包装機100の上方に設けられた計量機(図示せず)によって所定の量だけ計量され、成形機構1のチューブ11の内部に投入される。フィルムFは、フィルム供給部からシート状で送られてきて、成形機構1によって筒状に成形される。成形された筒状フィルムFmは、縦シール機構2によって、プルダウンベルト機構23によって下方に搬送されながら、縦方向にシールされる。
本発明の実施形態に係る製袋包装機100において、縦シール機構2が筒状フィルムFmを超音波でシールする際の制御部29の動作について、図4のタイムチャートを参照しながら説明する。図4は、縦シール機構2が、筒状フィルムFmの搬送を開始して、筒状フィルムFmをシールして、筒状フィルムFmの搬送を停止するまでの時刻t0〜t6における、筒状フィルムFmの搬送速度および筒状フィルムFmに与えられる超音波振動の振幅の時間変化を表す。図4において、「フィルム搬送速度」は、プルダウンベルト機構23によって下方に搬送される筒状フィルムFmの速度を表し、「超音波の振幅」は、超音波発信器24によって筒状フィルムFmに与えられる超音波振動の振幅を表す。製袋包装機100は、袋Bを連続的に製造する過程において、図4に示される時刻t0〜t6のサイクルを繰り返す。なお、時刻t0〜t6において、筒状フィルムFmには、エアシリンダ21b内部の空気圧に基づく所定の圧力が加えられている。以下、時刻t0〜t6のそれぞれの時点における制御部29の制御について説明する。

本実施形態に係る製袋包装機100では、縦シール機構2が筒状フィルムFmをシールする過程において、筒状フィルムFmの搬送が開始される時刻t2の直前の予備動作の時間帯t1〜t2において、振幅a1の超音波振動が筒状フィルムFmに与えられる。すなわち、本実施形態では、筒状フィルムFmを搬送しながら筒状フィルムFmに超音波振動を与えてシールする本動作の時間帯t2〜t6より前に、筒状フィルムFmに超音波振動のエネルギーが与えられる。これにより、本動作の時間帯t2〜t6において、筒状フィルムFmがスムーズに溶着される。従って、本実施形態に係る製袋包装機100は、筒状フィルムFmを安定してシールすることができる。
本実施形態に係る製袋包装機100では、縦シール機構2が筒状フィルムFmをシールする過程において、筒状フィルムFmの速度が減少し始める時刻t5より前の時刻t4において、筒状フィルムFmに与えられる超音波振動の振幅が減少し始める。ここで、筒状フィルムFmの速度が減少し始める時刻t5と同じ時刻に、筒状フィルムFmに与えられる超音波振動の振幅が減少し始める場合(すなわち、筒状フィルムFmに与えられる超音波振動の振幅が時刻t5まで減少しない場合)を仮定すると、筒状フィルムFmの速度が減少する時刻t5〜t6の時間帯において、筒状フィルムFmに超音波振動のエネルギーが必要以上に与えられるおそれがある。また、超音波振動のエネルギーに基づくホーン21の温度の上昇によってホーン21の物理的特性が変化することにより、筒状フィルムFmに与えられる超音波振動の振幅が増加して、筒状フィルムFmに超音波振動のエネルギーが必要以上に与えられるおそれがある。
本実施形態に係る製袋包装機100では、筒状フィルムFmの速度に応じた振幅を有する超音波振動が、筒状フィルムFmに与えられる。すなわち、縦シール機構2が筒状フィルムFmをシールする過程において、制御部29は、筒状フィルムFmに与えられるエネルギーが適切に制御する。従って、本実施形態に係る製袋包装機100は、筒状フィルムFmを安定してシールすることができる。
以上、本発明の実施形態について説明したが、本発明の具体的構成は、本発明の要旨を逸脱しない範囲内で変更可能である。次に、本実施形態に対する適用可能な変形例について説明する。
本実施形態に係る製袋包装機100では、図4に示されるように、制御部29は、筒状フィルムFmの速度に応じた振幅を有する超音波振動を筒状フィルムFmに与える制御を行うが、制御部29は、上記制御と共に、図5に示されるように、筒状フィルムFmの速度に応じた圧力を筒状フィルムFmに加える制御を行ってもよい。図5は、縦シール機構2が、筒状フィルムFmの搬送を開始して、筒状フィルムFmをシールして、筒状フィルムFmの搬送を停止するまでの時刻t0〜t6における、筒状フィルムFmの搬送速度および筒状フィルムFmに与えられる圧力の時間変化を表す。図5において、「空気圧」は、電空レギュレータ25によって制御される、エアシリンダ21b内部の空気圧を表す。筒状フィルムFmに与えられる圧力は、エアシリンダ21b内部の空気圧に応じて変化する。
本実施形態に係る製袋包装機100では、図4に示されるように、制御部29は、筒状フィルムFmの速度に応じた振幅を有する超音波振動を筒状フィルムFmに与える制御を行うが、制御部29は、フィルム搬送速度が一定になる時間帯t3〜t5において、筒状フィルムFmに与えられる超音波振動のパワーが一定になるような制御を行ってもよい。これにより、筒状フィルムFmの速度が一定になる時間帯t3〜t5において、超音波振動のエネルギーが必要以上に筒状フィルムFmに与えられて、筒状フィルムFmが過度に溶着してしまうことを防ぐことができる。従って、本変形例に係る製袋包装機100は、筒状フィルムFmを安定してシールすることができる。
本実施形態に係る製袋包装機100では、袋Bの連続製造工程において、図4および図5に示される時刻t0〜t6のサイクルが繰り返されるが、2回目以降のサイクルにおいて筒状フィルムFmに与えられる超音波振動の振幅が、1回目のサイクルにおいて筒状フィルムFmに与えられる超音波振動の振幅よりも小さくなるように、制御部29が超音波発信器24を制御してもよい。通常、2回目以降のサイクルの開始時点(時刻t0)では、1回目のサイクルにおいて筒状フィルムFmに与えられた超音波振動のエネルギーの一部が、筒状フィルムFmに残留している。すなわち、本変形例では、2回目以降のサイクルにおいて筒状フィルムFmに与えられる超音波振動の振幅(図4におけるa1およびa2)の値を低く設定することによって、2回目以降のサイクルにおいて筒状フィルムFmに超音波振動のエネルギーが必要以上に与えられて、筒状フィルムFmが過度に溶着してしまうことを防ぐことができる。従って、本変形例に係る製袋包装機100は、筒状フィルムFmを安定してシールすることができる。

Claims (4)
- 筒状のフィルムを搬送する搬送部と、
前記搬送部によって搬送されている前記フィルムに圧力および超音波振動を与えて、前記フィルムをシールするシール部と、
前記搬送部によって搬送される前記フィルムの速度、および、前記シール部によって前記フィルムに与えられる超音波振動の振幅を制御する制御部と、
を備え、
前記制御部は、前記搬送部によって前記フィルムの搬送が開始される第1時点に移行する直前の時間領域において、前記フィルムに超音波振動を与え、かつ、前記第1時点に移行した後の時間領域において、前記フィルムの速度に応じた振幅を有する超音波振動を前記フィルムに与える、
製袋包装機。 - 前記制御部は、前記第1時点から、前記フィルムの速度が一定になる第2時点までの時間領域において、前記フィルムの速度が増加するに従って、前記フィルムに与えられる超音波振動の振幅が増加するように、前記搬送部および前記シール部を制御する、
