Abstract
Description
液晶ディスプレイは、サンプルホールドディスプレイ装置であり、任意の特定の点での画像は、その点又はピクセルが次の画像リフレッシュ時間、通常は1/60秒又はそれより速い時間内で更新されるまで安定している。そのようなサンプルホールド式のシステムにおいて、ディスプレイの順次的なリフレッシュ期間中に、異なる画像、具体的には、3Dディスプレイ用の交互に入れ替わる左用画像と右用画像を表示するには、例えば、左目用光源が右目用のデータのディスプレイ中にはオンとならず、逆もまた同様となるように、バックライト光源の綿密なシーケンスが要求される。
本発明の実施形態は、連続プリズムを有する、特定の種類の両面フィルムの、上記で認識された欠点を低減するのに役立つ。プリズムの頂点は、良好なオートステレオスコピック光学効果を定めるための重要な要素であるため、本発明の実施形態は、プリズムの底部間の平坦部、つまり空隙をもたらし、プリズムを非連続的にする。この機構は、ランド部の厚みを増加させ、また、フィルム基材付近の機構の鋭度を低減するように調整でき、具体的には、プリズムとランド部との移行部を鋭角的ではなく、湾曲させ、フィルムの機械的安定性を向上し、亀裂及び層間剥離を防止し、フィルムのゆがみを低減する。追加の実施形態は、黒色の又は不透明な(光吸収)機構を非連続プリズム間の構造に配置することを含み、これにより、軸外光線を低減できる。
Claims (16)
- 液晶ディスプレイパネルと、
前記液晶ディスプレイパネルに光を供給するように配置された指向性バックライトと、
前記液晶ディスプレイパネルと前記指向性バックライトとの間に設けられた両面プリズムフィルムとを含み、前記プリズムフィルムが、前記液晶ディスプレイパネルに隣接する複数の円筒形レンズを有する第1表面と、前記指向性バックライトに隣接する複数の非連続プリズムを有し、前記第1表面に対して反対側を向く第2表面とを含む、ステレオスコピック3D液晶ディスプレイモジュール。 - 前記非連続プリズムが各プリズム間に平坦な透過性部分を含む、請求項1に記載のディスプレイモジュール。
- 前記非連続プリズムが各プリズム間に不透明部分を含む、請求項1に記載のディスプレイモジュール。
- 前記非連続プリズム及び前記円筒形レンズが一定のピッチを有する、請求項1に記載のディスプレイモジュール。
- 前記非連続プリズム及び前記円筒形レンズが異なるピッチを有する、請求項1に記載のディスプレイモジュール。
- 前記プリズムの中心が前記円筒形レンズの中心に揃っている、請求項1に記載のディスプレイモジュール。
- 前記プリズムの中心が前記円筒形レンズの中心からずれている、請求項1に記載のディスプレイモジュール。
- 液晶ディスプレイパネルと、
前記液晶ディスプレイパネルに光を供給するように配置された指向性バックライトであって、前記指向性バックライトが、
第1側面、前記第1側面に対して反対側を向く第2側面、前記第1側面と前記第2側面との間に延びる第1表面、及び前記第1表面に対して反対側を向く第2表面を有する光ガイドであって、前記第1表面が実質的に光を方向転換し、前記第2表面が実質的に光を前記液晶ディスプレイパネルへと透過する、光ガイドと、
前記光ガイドの前記第1側面に沿って設けられる第1光源と、
前記光ガイドの前記第2側面に沿って設けられる第2光源とを含む、指向性バックライトと、
前記第1光源及び前記第2光源に電気的に接続されている同期駆動素子であって、前記第1光源又は前記第2光源のそれぞれを交互にオン又はオフに切り替えて前記第1側面と前記第2側面とを同期させる同期駆動素子と、
前記液晶ディスプレイパネルと前記指向性バックライトとの間に設けられた両面プリズムフィルムとを含み、前記プリズムフィルムが、前記液晶ディスプレイパネルに隣接する複数の円筒形レンズを有する第1表面と、前記指向性バックライトに隣接する複数の非連続プリズムを有し、前記第1表面に対して反対側を向く第2表面とを含む、ステレオスコピック3D液晶ディスプレイ装置。 - 前記第1光源及び前記第2光源のそれぞれが1つ以上の発光ダイオードを含む、請求項8に記載のディスプレイ装置。
- 前記第1表面に隣接して配置された反射フィルム及び前記反射フィルムに取り付けられたヒートシンクを更に含む、請求項8に記載のディスプレイ装置。
- 前記非連続プリズムが各プリズム間に平坦な透過性部分を含む、請求項8に記載のディスプレイ装置。
- 前記非連続プリズムが各プリズム間に不透明部分を含む、請求項8に記載のディスプレイ装置。
- 前記非連続プリズム及び前記円筒形レンズが一定のピッチを有する、請求項8に記載のディスプレイ装置。
- 前記非連続プリズム及び前記円筒形レンズが異なるピッチを有する、請求項8に記載のディスプレイ装置。
