Abstract

第1電極層190は、複数の第1電極193を含む第1電極アレイ191、第1電極アレイ191の上に形成されている絶縁層180、及び絶縁層180の上に形成されて、複数の第2電極197を含む第2電極アレイ195を含む。
共通電極291は、第2基板210の全面の上に形成されており、共通電圧Vcomなどの決められた電圧の印加を受ける。共通電極291はITO、IZOなどの透明導電物質で形成することができる。
本実施形態に係る液晶回折レンズは、図5及び図6に示した液晶回折レンズと殆ど同一であるが、第1電極層190の構造が異なる。
処理された2次元画像信号(Dout_2D)または処理された3次元画像信号(Dout_3D)を受信した表示パネル制御部620は、表示パネル制御信号(CONT1)、及び2次元画像データ(DAT_2D)または3次元画像データ(DAT_3D)を生成し、これを表示パネル300に送信する。表示パネル制御信号(CONT1)は、表示パネル300が3次元モード及び2次元モードのうちのいずれで動作するかを制御する。
表示パネル300は、表示パネル制御信号(CONT1)によって2次元モードまたは3次元モードで動作する。2次元モードで動作する時には2次元画像データ(DAT_2D)を表示し、3次元モードで動作する時には3次元画像データ(DAT_3D)を表示する。

Claims (10)
- 画像を表示する表示パネル、及び
前記表示パネルの画像を2次元画像または3次元画像と認知されるようにするための回折レンズを含み、
前記回折レンズはフレネルゾーンプレートの光学原理を利用して光の経路を変更する画像表示装置。 - 前記回折レンズは、
互いに対向する第1基板と第2基板、
前記第1基板上に形成される第1電極層、
前記第2基板上に形成される第2電極層、及び
前記第1基板と前記第2基板との間に介される液晶層を含み、
前記第1電極層は、複数の第1電極を含む第1電極アレイ、複数の第2電極を含む第2電極アレイ、及び前記第1電極アレイと前記第2電極アレイとの間を絶縁する絶縁層を含み、
前記第2電極層は共通電極を含む、請求項1に記載の画像表示装置。 - 前記第1電極と前記第2電極は交互に配置されて、互いに重畳しない、請求項2に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記第1基板、前記第2基板、及び前記液晶層は、前記フレネルゾーンプレートの中心を基準として外側に順次に位置する複数のゾーン(zone)を含み、
各ゾーンは、少なくとも一つの前記第1電極、及び少なくとも一つの前記第2電極を含み、
前記各ゾーンで前記第1電極及び前記第2電極に印加される電圧は、前記フレネルゾーンプレートの前記中心側に向かうほど段階的に変化する、請求項2に記載の画像表示装置。 - 各ゾーンは複数のサブゾーンを含み、
前記複数のゾーンで同一のサブゾーンに該当する前記第1電極または前記第2電極の電圧は、前記液晶層を通過した光に同一の位相遅延を起こすように印加される、請求項4に記載の画像表示装置。 - 前記第1基板、前記第2基板、及び前記液晶層は、前記フレネルゾーンプレートの中心を基準として外側に順次に位置する複数のゾーンを含み、
前記第1電極と前記第2電極の幅は、前記フレネルゾーンプレートの全てのゾーンで同一である、請求項2に記載の画像表示装置。 - 前記第1電極、前記第2電極、及び前記共通電極に同一の電圧が印加されて、前記回折レンズの機能がオフされ、2次元画像が認知される、請求項2に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記回折レンズは異方性回折レンズを含み、
前記表示パネルと前記異方性回折レンズとの間に位置し、前記表示パネルの画像の偏光を調節して、前記異方性回折レンズの機能をスイッチオン/オフする偏光スイッチング部をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の画像表示装置。 - 前記回折レンズは、位相変調型フレネルゾーンプレートの光学原理を利用して光の経路を変更する、請求項1に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記回折レンズは、マルチレベル位相変調型フレネルゾーンプレートの光学原理を利用して光の経路を変更する、請求項9に記載の画像表示装置。
