Abstract
【解決手段】本実施形態の液晶光学素子は、第1基板と、前記第1基板の第1面上に設けられた絶縁層と、前記絶縁層上に設けられ第1方向に延在し前記第1方向と直交する第2方向に配列された一対の第1電極と、前記第1面上の前記一対の第1電極間に設けられ前記第1方向に延在し前記第2方向に配列された一対の第2電極と、前記第1基板の前記第1面に対向する第2面を有する第2基板と、前記第2基板の前記第2面上に設けられた対向電極と、前記第1基板と前記第2基板との間に設けられた液晶層と、を備え、前記絶縁層は、前記第2電極直下の前記絶縁層の領域に近接して設けられ前記第1方向に延在する溝を有する。

Claims (8)
- 第1面を有する第1基板と、前記第1基板の前記第1面に対向する第2面を有する第2基板と、前記第1基板と前記第2基板との間に挟持された液晶層と、を有し、前記液晶層への電圧印加により前記液晶層にフレネルレンズとして作用する屈折率分布を発生する液晶光学素子であって、
前記第1基板の前記第1面上に設けられた絶縁層と、
前記絶縁層上に設けられ第1方向に延在し前記第1方向と直交する第2方向に配列され前記フレネルレンズの端部に対応する位置に設けられた一対の第1電極と、
前記第1面上の前記一対の第1電極間に設けられ前記第1方向に延在し前記第2方向に配列され前記フレネルレンズの段差部に対応する位置に設けられた一対の第2電極と、
前記第2基板の前記第2面上に設けられた対向電極と、
を備え、
前記絶縁層は、前記第2電極直下の前記絶縁層の領域に近接して設けられ前記第1方向に延在する溝を有する液晶光学素子。 - 前記溝は前記一対の第2電極のそれぞれに対して設けられ、
前記一対の第1電極のそれぞれの前記第2方向における中心を結ぶ線分の中点を通り前記第1方向に平行となる第1中心軸に平行で前記第1中心軸に近い前記溝の第1側面は、前記第1方向に平行となる、対応する前記第2電極の前記第1中心軸上に近い側面とほぼ同じ位置に位置する請求項1記載の液晶光学素子。 - 前記溝は、底面と、前記第1方向に沿い前記第1中心軸から遠い第2側面とを有する請求項2記載の液晶光学素子。
- 前記溝の第2側面は、前記底面に対して傾いて交差する請求項3記載の液晶光学素子。
- 前記溝は、前記第1方向に沿い前記第1中心軸から遠い第2側面を有し、前記第2側面は前記第1側面と交差する請求項2記載の液晶光学素子。
- 前記溝は、前記第1方向に直交する面で切断した断面形状が四角形である請求項2または3記載の液晶光学素子。
- 前記溝の深さは、1μmから5μmの範囲にある請求項1乃至6のいずれか1項に記載の液晶光学素子。
- 請求項1乃至7のいずれか1項に記載の液晶光学素子と、
前記液晶光学素子と積層され画像情報を含む光を前記液晶層に入射させ画像を表示する画像表示部と、
を備えた画像表示装置。
