Abstract
【解決手段】420nm以上480nm未満の波長領域に発光ピークを持つ青色光を発する青色固体発光素子と、当該青色固体発光素子を覆い、600nm以上680nm未満の波長領域に発光ピークを持つ赤色光を発する第1の赤色蛍光体を含む第1の赤色蛍光体層とを有する第1の半導体発光体素子、及び500nm以上550nm未満の波長領域に発光ピークを持つ緑色光を発する緑色固体発光素子と、当該緑色固体発光素子を覆い、600nm以上680nm未満の波長領域に発光ピークを持つ赤色光を発する第2の赤色蛍光体を含む第2の赤色蛍光体層とを有する第2の半導体発光体素子を備える発光装置とする。

Description
(1)蛍光体を照射する青色光に対する緑色光の光子変換効率が低いため、緑色蛍光体の使用量が増してコスト高になる。
(2)青色光の波長に対する緑色蛍光体の吸収特性が一般に急峻なため、青色LEDと緑色蛍光体の双方の僅かな特性差によって、前記青緑色光の分光分布が変動しやすい。
(3)緑色蛍光体の選択枝が限られており、緑色光の発光スペクトル半値幅が広いものになるため、出力光の青緑色と黄色の光成分割合が増して、赤、緑、青の色分離が不明瞭になり、RGBカラーフィルター透過後の輝度が下るだけでなく、RGBの各光の色純度が悪くなる。
500nm以上550nm未満の波長領域に発光ピークを持つ緑色光を発する緑色固体発光素子と、当該緑色固体発光素子を覆い、600nm以上680nm未満の波長領域に発光ピークを持つ赤色光を発する第2の赤色蛍光体を含む第2の赤色蛍光体層とを有する第2の半導体発光体素子を備えることを特徴とする。

Claims (16)
- 420nm以上480nm未満の波長領域に発光ピークを持つ青色光を発する青色固体発光素子と、当該青色固体発光素子を覆い、600nm以上680nm未満の波長領域に発光ピークを持つ赤色光を発する第1の赤色蛍光体を含む第1の赤色蛍光体層とを有する第1の半導体発光体素子、及び
500nm以上550nm未満の波長領域に発光ピークを持つ緑色光を発する緑色固体発光素子と、当該緑色固体発光素子を覆い、600nm以上680nm未満の波長領域に発光ピークを持つ赤色光を発する第2の赤色蛍光体を含む第2の赤色蛍光体層とを有する第2の半導体発光体素子を備える発光装置。 - 前記第1の半導体発光体素子は、前記青色固体発光素子が発する青色光の少なくとも一部を前記第1の赤色蛍光体が波長変換した青/赤混色光を出光し、前記第2の半導体発光体素子は、前記緑色固体発光素子が発する緑色光の少なくとも一部を前記第2の赤色蛍光体が波長変換した緑/赤混色光を出光する請求項1に記載の発光装置。
- 前記青/赤混色光と、前記緑/赤混色光とをさらに混色する請求項2に記載の発光装置。
- 前記第1及び第2の赤色蛍光体層が、前記青色固体発光素子及び緑色固体発光素子の少なくとも主光取出し面をそれぞれ覆うように配置されている請求項1に記載の発光装置。
- 前記第1の半導体発光素子と前記第2の半導体発光素子とが、空間を隔てて配置されている請求項1に記載の発光装置。
- 前記第1及び第2の赤色蛍光体はそれぞれ、Eu2+で付活されたアルカリ土類金属窒化物蛍光体及びEu2+で付活されたアルカリ土類金属酸窒化物蛍光体からなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種である請求項1に記載の発光装置。
- 480nm以上500nm未満の波長領域に発光ピークを持つ光を発する固体発光素子及び蛍光物質、ならびに550nm以上600nm未満の波長領域に発光ピークを持つ光を発する固体発光素子及び蛍光物質のいずれも含まない請求項1に記載の発光装置。
- 前記青色固体発光素子及び前記緑色固体発光素子が、無機材料を発光層とする注入型のエレクトロルミネッセンス素子である請求項1に記載の発光装置。
- 前記無機材料が、InGaN系の半導体化合物である請求項8に記載の発光装置。
- 前記第1の半導体発光素子と前記第2の半導体発光素子において、蛍光体層の厚み及び/又は蛍光体層中に含まれる赤色蛍光体の濃度が異なっている請求項1に記載の発光装置。
- 前記第1の半導体発光素子が、前記青色固体発光素子と前記第1の赤色蛍光体層との間に光拡散体をさらに有し、かつ前記第2の半導体発光素子が、前記緑色固体発光素子と前記第2の赤色蛍光体層との間に光拡散体をさらに有する請求項1に記載の発光装置。
- 請求項1〜11のいずれかに記載の発光装置を備える照明光源。
- バックライトである請求項12に記載の照明光源。
- 請求項1〜11のいずれかに記載の発光装置が複数、分散して配置されてバックライトが構成されている請求項13に記載の照明光源。
- 請求項13又は14に記載のバックライトを備える表示装置。
- 請求項15に記載の表示装置を備える電子機器。
