Description
本発明の第2の形態においては、a)エマルションポリマーの重量を基準にして0.5〜9重量%のエチレン性不飽和ジカルボン酸モノマーを共重合単位として含むエマルションポリマーと、前記エマルションポリマーの重量を基準にして0.5〜15重量%の量のポリオールとを含み;前記エマルションポリマーの重量を基準にして合計で0.5〜9重量%のカルボン酸モノマーを重合単位として含む硬化性水性組成物を形成し;b)前記硬化性水性組成物と可とう性の基体とを接触させ;並びに、c)120℃〜220℃の温度で前記硬化性水性組成物を加熱する;ことを含む基体を形成する方法が提供される。
本発明の第3の形態においては、本発明の第2の形態の方法によって形成される処理された基体を提供する。

共重合単位として、エマルションポリマーの重量を基準にして5重量%のイタコン酸を含むエマルションポリマーが、米国特許第5,451,432号の実施例1の教示に従って製造された。
サンプルAは、ビチューメン屋根用膜における使用のためのニードル孔あけされたポリエステル不織物についてのバインダーとして評価された。この用途のための鍵となる特性は、ビチューメンに浸けられた場合のまたはビチューメン膜が設置中に再加熱される場合の不織物の寸法安定性を示す、静的熱寸法安定性である。この溶液は、単純に混合および希釈することによって、以下の表(値はグラム単位)におけるように製造された。
顔料印刷ペーストが以下の表(値は重量%単位)におけるように調製された。これらは約25,000cps(LVD−4/6rpm)のブルックフィールド粘度を有していた。これらペーストはスクリーン印刷によって綿織物布地上に適用された。このサンプルは、次いで、150℃で3分間マチス強制空気再循環オーブン中で乾燥および硬化させられた。これらサンプルは、次いで、洗浄および乾燥を3サイクルさせられた。各サイクルにおいて、Dr.Lange Colour Pen(ドクターランゲカラーペン)モデルLMG159を用いて、その色(Lab値)が測定された。有意な色の変化は劣った洗浄耐久性の指標である。値は元の色に対する変化として表される。
共重合単位として、エマルションポリマーの重量を基準にして5重量%のイタコン酸を含むエマルションポリマーが、米国特許第5,451,432号の実施例1の教示に従って製造された。
飽和セルロール基体が水および溶媒耐性について評価された。比較例Cにおいては、サンプルBエマルションポリマーの中和されていない部分が使用された。比較例Dにおいては、水酸化カリウムで40%の程度まで中和されたサンプルBエマルションポリマーの部分が使用された。実施例3においては、TEAで40%の程度まで中和されたサンプルBエマルションポリマーの部分が使用された。これらサンプルは、次いで、マチスフーラードを用いてワットマン(Whatman)#4ペーパーに適用され、150℃で3分間硬化させられた。これらサンプルは、次いで、乾燥で、または水もしくはイソプロパノール中での10分間の浸漬後に、機械方向に引張強さについて試験された。
顔料印刷用途における硬化した水性組成物の洗浄耐久性が評価された。この配合物は以下の表4.1に示される。
実施例5並びに比較例FおよびGの製造について:ジエタノールアミン(DEA)、水およびポリアクリル酸(Mw10,000および固形分45%)が一緒に混合されたものに、サンプルBエマルションポリマー(35%固形分含量)を添加した。ポリアクリル酸(pAA)は、ジ亜リン酸ナトリウムを連鎖移動剤として使用することなく製造された。量は表5.1に示される。
Werner Mathis(ワーナーマチス)AGカレンダー上で、3barの圧力および3m/sの速度で、ワットマン#4濾紙がこのサンプルで飽和され、次いで、このサンプルはワーナーマチスAGオーブン内で3分間150℃で硬化させられた。添加量はサンプルあたり21%±1.5%であった。硬化したシートは2.5cm×10cmのストリップに切り出され、イソプロピルアルコールに10分間浸漬した後で引張強さを試験した。

- エマルションポリマーの重量を基準にして0.5〜9重量%のエチレン性不飽和ジカルボン酸モノマーを共重合単位として含むエマルションポリマーと、
前記エマルションポリマーの重量を基準にして0.5〜15重量%の量のポリオールと
を含む硬化性水性組成物であって;
当該水性組成物が、カルボン酸含有ポリマーの全重量を基準にして0.5〜9重量%のカルボン酸モノマーを重合単位として含むカルボン酸含有ポリマーを含む;
硬化性水性組成物。 - 前記ポリオールが少なくとも2つのヒドロキシル基を有し分子量が1000未満の化合物である、請求項1に記載の硬化性水性組成物。
- 前記ポリオールがジイソプロパノールアミン、2−(2−アミノエチルアミノ)エタノール、トリエタノールアミン、トリス(ヒドロキシメチル)アミノメタンおよびジエタノールアミンからなる群から選択されるヒドロキシルアミンである、請求項2に記載の硬化性水性組成物。
