Abstract
【解決手段】
本発明の一実施形態による液晶表示装置は、ハーフトーンマスクを用いて周辺領域の有機膜をパターニングすることにより、周辺領域に突出部を含むことができる。これにより、薄膜トランジスタ表示板と対向基板とが周辺領域で一時的に付着することを防止することにより、周辺領域に充填される液晶分子の密度を均一に維持し、液晶表示装置の表示品質を改善する。

Claims (13)
- 表示領域及び周辺領域を含む基板、
前記周辺領域に位置する突出部材パターン、及び
前記周辺領域に位置し、第1領域及び第2領域を有する有機膜を含み、
前記有機膜の第1領域の高さが前記周辺領域の前記有機膜の第2領域の高さより1.5μm以上高く、前記有機膜の第1領域は前記有機膜と前記突出部材パターンとが重畳する部分であり、前記有機膜の第2領域は前記有機膜と前記突出部材パターンとが重畳しない部分である液晶表示装置。 - 前記有機膜上に位置し、第1領域及び第2領域を有する遮光部材をさらに含み、
前記遮光部材の第1領域の高さが前記周辺領域の前記遮光部材の第2領域の高さより0.7μm以上高く、前記遮光部材の第1領域は前記遮光部材と前記突出部材パターンとが重畳する部分であり、前記遮光部材の第2領域は前記遮光部材と前記突出部材パターンとが重畳しない部分である、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記遮光部材の第1領域の高さが前記遮光部材の第2領域の高さより1.0μm以上高く、前記突出部材パターンは柱状である、請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記有機膜の下に無機絶縁膜が位置する、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記周辺領域の前記有機膜の開口部の大きさと、前記無機絶縁膜の開口部の大きさとが実質的に同一である、請求項の4に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記表示領域に位置し、前記突出部材パターンと同一の物質を含み、前記突出部材パターンと同一の層に位置する隔壁パターン、及び
前記隔壁パターンによって定義された領域に形成されたカラーフィルタをさらに含む、請求項5に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 表示領域及び周辺領域を含む基板、
前記周辺領域に位置する柱状の突出部材パターン、及び
前記周辺領域に位置する有機膜を含み、
前記有機膜は第3領域を含み、前記有機膜の第3領域は前記突出部材パターンを取り囲む凹部である液晶表示装置。 - 前記有機膜は第1領域を含み、前記有機膜の第1領域の高さが前記有機膜の第3領域の高さより1.0μm以上高く、前記有機膜の第1領域は前記有機膜と前記突出部材パターンとが重畳する部分であり、
前記突出部材パターンは柱状である、請求項7に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記有機膜上に位置し、第1領域及び第2領域を有する遮光部材をさらに含み、
前記遮光部材の第1領域の高さが前記遮光部材の第2領域の高さより0.7μm以上高く、前記遮光部材の第1領域は前記遮光部材と前記突出部材パターンとが重畳する部分であり、前記遮光部材の第2領域は前記遮光部材と前記有機膜の第3領域とが重畳する部分である、請求項8に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記遮光部材の第1領域の高さが前記遮光部材の第2領域の高さより1.0μm以上高い、請求項9に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記有機膜上に位置する密封材をさらに含み、
前記有機膜は第2領域を含み、前記有機膜の第2領域で前記密封材と重畳する部分の高さは、前記有機膜の第2領域で前記密封材と重畳しない部分の高さより高く、前記有機膜の第2領域は前記有機膜と前記突出部材パターンとが重畳しない部分である請求項8に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記表示領域に位置し、前記突出部材パターンと同一の物質を含み、前記突出部材パターンと同一の層に位置する隔壁パターン、及び
前記隔壁パターンによって定義された領域に形成されている少なくとも1つのカラーフィルタをさらに含む、請求項7に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 表示領域及び周辺領域を含む基板、
前記周辺領域に位置する柱状の突出部材パターン、
前記表示領域に位置し、前記突出部材パターンと同一の物質を含み、前記突出部材パターンと同一の層に位置する隔壁パターン、及び
前記隔壁パターンによって定義された領域に位置する少なくとも1つのカラーフィルタを含む液晶表示装置。
