Claims (18)

  1. 静脈グラフトの採取された静脈の外表面への配置用のステントを選択する方法において、該方法が、
    採取された静脈を測定されるべく提供する段階と、
    採取された静脈の最小径と最大径とを測定する作業と、
    ステントを静脈の外表面に配置することに伴う静脈に対する最大縮径量とステントを静脈の外表面に配置することに伴う静脈に対する最小縮径量とを選択する作業と、
    選択した最大量と選択した最小量との間の縮径量を成すステント径範囲を計算する作業と、
    該計算範囲内に収まる径を有する単一ステントを選択する作業とを含む、静脈グラフト用のステントを選択する方法。
  2. 更に、静脈を平滑化するための縮径度を計算する作業を含む、請求項1記載の方法。
  3. 前記平滑化する作業が、静脈の少なくとも一部の外径を変更して、静脈の他の部分の外径と事実上等しくする作業を含む、請求項2記載の方法。
  4. 前記単一ステントが、前記計算範囲内で可能な最小のステントであり、その結果、最大縮径量を有している、請求項1記載の方法。
  5. 前記単一ステントが、前記計算範囲内で可能な最大のステントであり、その結果、最小縮径量を有している、請求項1記載の方法。
  6. 前記ステントが約2.7mmから約4.0mmの直径を有している、請求項1記載の方法。
  7. 前記ステントが約3.0mmから4.0mmの直径を有している請求項5記載の方法。
  8. 静脈に対する最大縮径量が、静脈を事実上平滑化するための縮径度である、請求項1記載の方法。
  9. 静脈を事実上平滑化する前記作業が静脈の不規則部分を平滑化する作業を含む、請求項8記載の方法。
  10. 患者の動脈の一区間を、患者の健康な動脈のコンプライアンス特性を模す形での弾力的な半径方向拡張能を有する静脈グラフトと置換する方法において、
    置換される動脈の前記区間の血流を制限する作業と、
    前記動脈の前記区間を、患者の利用可能な第1動脈端部と利用可能な第2動脈端部とを残して切除する作業と、
    第1端部と第2端部とを有する静脈片を得る作業と、
    静脈片の前記第1端部を前記利用可能な第1動脈端部に結合する作業と、
    3‐30%/100mmHgの範囲のコンプライアンス内での静脈片の半径方向拡張を許容するのに十分に弾力的な半径方向拡張能を備えた概して管状のフレキシブルで弾力的な編成繊維メッシュ外側支持ステントを得る作業と、
    静脈片の前記第2端部を前記ステント内へ導入し、静脈片の事実上全体がステント内に収まるまで、ステントを静脈片の外表面上でスライドさせることによって、前記静脈片に前記ステントをはめ込む作業と、
    静脈片の前記第2端部を利用可能な前記動脈第2端部と結合して、前記静脈グラフトを得る作業とが含まれ、
    しかも、前記静脈グラフトが、前記動脈への血流回復時に、健康な動脈のコンプライアンス特性を模した形での弾力的な半径方向拡張能を備えている、患者の動脈の一区間を、患者の健康な動脈のコンプライアンス特性を模した形での弾力的な半径方向拡張能を有する静脈グラフトと置換する方法。
  11. 前記ステントが、有意な軸方向寸法の変化なしに前記弾力的な半径方向拡張能を発揮する、請求項10記載の方法。
  12. 前記繊維メッシュが金属ワイヤ製である、請求項10記載の方法。
  13. 前記金属ワイヤが形状記憶合金である、請求項12記載の方法。
  14. 前記繊維メッシュがポリマーである、請求項10記載の方法。
  15. 前記静脈片の前記外表面が前記ステントに接着される、請求項10記載の方法。
  16. 静脈グラフトの静脈の外表面への配置用のステントを選択する方法であり、該方法が、
    生理的圧力に静脈を拡張させる段階と、
    拡張された静脈の最大外径を測定する段階と、
    それぞれが独自の内径を有する複数の概して管状のステントのセットを提供する段階と、
    複数の概して管状のステントから、静脈の外表面に配置された時に40%まで静脈を縮径させるに適当な内径を有するステントを選択する段階と、を有する方法。
  17. 拡張された静脈の最小外径を測定する段階を有し、前記選択されたステントは拡張された静脈の最小外径以下の内径を有する、請求項16に記載の方法。
  18. 生理的圧力は、約120mmHgである、請求項16に記載の方法。
