(工程1(表面処理))
この実施例において、A36鋼板が基板として使用された。このA36鋼板は、低コストであり、大きなシートで入手可能な低炭素鋼である。この鋼板は、シートから約76.2cm×76.2cmの寸法に切断された。このタイプの鋼は、それが、遠洋航行船の貨物倉に使用される鋼板と同様の特性を有するので選択された。“Sulzer cleaning blast media Metcolite(登録商標)C”が、20グリットの粒径とアルミニウム酸化物組成とを有して使用された。噴出銃は、汚染物を除去し、次の層の付着を促進するために基板上に噴出媒体を噴射した。
結合層は、サルツァーメトコスマートアーク(登録商標)アドバンスト電気ワイヤアーク溶射システム(Sulzer Metco SmartArc(登録商標) advanced electric wire arc thermal spray system)を用いて形成された。この溶射システムは、サルツァーメトコ社のスマートアーク(登録商標)PPCコンソール(SmartArc(登録商標)PPC Console)及び350RU電源(350RU Power Supply)も備えていた。この銃は、微細な溶射空気キャップ(air cap)を用いて組み立てられ、当業者に知られるようなこの工程で利用された。
抵抗層は、工程2において記載されたものと同一の装置を用いて形成された。しかしながら、この工程において、鉄ベースのワイヤを用いた電気アークワイヤ溶射が使用された。より具体的には、サルツァーメトコロイ(登録商標)2電気アークワイヤ溶射/鉄ベース(Sulzer Metcoloy(登録商標)2 electric arc wire spray/iron base)が使用された。サルツァーメトコロイ(登録商標)2電気アークワイヤ溶射/鉄ベースは、Fe13Cr0.5Si0.5Ni0.5Mn0.35Cの化学組成、約1.6mm(14ゲージ)のワイヤサイズ、及び、合金ワイヤ形態を有した。

Claims (21)
- 結合層が付着することを可能にする、所定の様式で前処理された基板の第1の表面に形成された前記結合層であって、基板表面及び非基板表面を有する前記結合層と、
船の貨物倉の腐食環境によって生じる腐食及び衝撃力に対する抵抗性を有する所定の材料で作られた抵抗層であって、前記結合層の前記非基板表面に形成され、結合表面及び非結合表面を有する抵抗層と、
前記抵抗層の前記非結合表面に形成されたシーラント層と、
を備える多層保護被覆。 - 前記船が、船舶、航空機、宇宙船、鉄道輸送車両及び陸上車両のうちの少なくとも1つである、請求項1に記載の被覆。
- 前記結合層が、金属及び金属合金のうちの少なくとも1つを含み、前記抵抗層が、金属及び金属合金のうちの少なくとも1つを含み、前記シーラント層が、ウレタンベースのシーラント及びエポキシのうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項1に記載の被覆。
- 前記シーラント層が、ウレタンベースのシーラント及びエポキシのうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項1に記載の被覆。
- 前記シーラント層が、前記抵抗層の微細孔を密閉する、請求項1に記載の被覆。
- 前記抵抗層が、ニッケルベースの合金及び鉄ベースの合金のうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項1に記載の被覆。
- 前記鉄ベースの合金が、Fe13Cr0.5Si0.5Ni0.5Mn0.35Cの組成を有する、請求項6に記載の被覆。
- 前記抵抗層が、約0.1mmから約2mmの範囲、約0.5mmから約2mmの範囲、及び、約0.7mmから約1.1mmの範囲からなる群から選択される厚さの範囲を有する、請求項1に記載の被覆。
- 前記結合層が、ニッケルベースの合金を含む、請求項1に記載の被覆。
- 前記ニッケルベースの合金が、Ni5Alの組成、Ni20Alの組成、Ni20Al20Fe4Crの組成、及び、それらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される組成を有する、請求項9に記載の被覆。
- 前記結合層が、約0.02mmから約0.3mmの範囲の厚さを有する、請求項1に記載の被覆。
- 前記基板が、遠洋航行船の貨物倉板である、請求項1に記載の被覆。
- 前記抵抗層が、Ni16Mo15.5Cr5Fe3.7Wの組成を有する、請求項1に記載の被覆。
- 衝撃力及び腐食に対する抵抗性を有する多層保護被覆を有する基板であって、
前記基板に結合する結合層であって、汚染物が除去されている基板の第1の側部に形成された結合層と、
前記結合層に直接形成された抵抗層であって、船の貨物倉内の腐食環境によって生じる腐食及び衝撃力に対する抵抗性を有する前記抵抗層と、
前記抵抗層の微細孔を密閉するために前記抵抗層に直接形成されたシーラント層と、
を備える基板。 - 前記抵抗層が、ニッケルベースの合金及び鉄ベースの合金のうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求コ14に記載の基板。
- 前記抵抗層が、Ni16Mo15.5Cr5Fe3.7Wの組成を有する、請求項14に記載の基板。
- 基板上に多層保護被覆を形成する方法であって、
第1基板の表面から腐食した材料を除去し、前記第1基板の表面を粗くすることによって前記第1基板を前処理し、
前記第1基板の表面に結合層を形成し、
前記結合層に抵抗層を形成する段階であって、前記抵抗層が、船の貨物倉の腐食環境によって生じる腐食及び衝撃力に対する抵抗性を有し、鉄ベースの合金及びニッケルベースの合金のうちの少なくとも1つを含む前記抵抗層を形成し、
前記抵抗層にシーラント層を形成する段階であって、前記シーラント層が、前記抵抗層の微細孔に浸透する、
ことを含む方法。 - 前記基板が、船の貨物倉の鋼板である、請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記船が、船舶、航空機、宇宙船、鉄道輸送車両及び陸上車両のうちの少なくとも1つである、請求項18に記載の方法。
- 前記抵抗層を形成することが、熱溶射被覆を用いて前記抵抗層を形成することを含む、請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記熱溶射被覆が、電線ワイヤアーク溶射システムを用いて形成され、前記抵抗層が、ニッケルベースの合金及び鉄ベースの合金のうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項20に記載の方法。
