Abstract
Description

Claims (17)
- 組織をアブレーションする方法であって、
少なくとも一つの超音波エミッタを、一つのビーム経路に沿った高強度超音波エネルギーであって、前記ビーム経路内の1又は複数の位置において少なくとも約1000W/cm2の瞬時出力密度の高強度超音波エネルギーを発生させるように励振させる工程と、
前記高出力超音波エネルギーを、前記ビーム経路内に位置決めされ前記少なくとも一つの超音波エミッタと音響的に結合された少なくとも一つのポリマー超音波レンズを用いて少なくとも一つの方向を指向させる工程と、
前記指向された高強度超音波エネルギーを、前記少なくとも一つの超音波エミッタと前記少なくとも一つのポリマー超音波レンズとの間に生じる熱膨張の不整合の応力を緩和する少なくとも一つの応力緩和機構を用いて、アブレーションされる組織に送波する工程と、
を備える、方法。 - 前記高強度超音波エネルギーを、前記ビーム経路内に位置決めされた少なくとも一つの低減衰ポリマー超音波レンズで少なくとも一つの方向を指向させる工程は、少なくとも一つの低減衰ポリマー超音波レンズで少なくとも一つの焦点に前記高強度超音波エネルギーを集束させることを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- さらに、前記少なくとも一つの超音波エミッタ及び前記少なくとも一つの超音波レンズの一つ又は複数の操作温度を監視する工程と、
熱損傷点未満となるように前記操作温度を調節する工程と、
を備える、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記少なくとも一つ応力緩和機構は、音響整合層、ヒートシンク機構、切込み溝及びこれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 複数のトランスデューサを備える高密度焦点式超音波組織アブレーション装置であって、前記複数のトランスデューサの少なくとも一部が、
実質的に平坦な第1の表面を有する少なくとも1つの超音波エミッタであって、前記第1の表面からビーム経路に沿って伝播し、前記ビーム経路内の1つ又は複数の場所で少なくとも約1000W/cm2の出力密度を有する超音波エネルギーを発生する少なくとも1つの超音波エミッタと、
少なくとも1つの超音波レンズが前記第1の超音波エミッタから伝播する前記超音波エネルギーを少なくとも1つの方向に指向させることができ、それによって前記超音波エネルギーが焼灼対象の組織に送波されるように、前記第1の表面から伝播する前記超音波エネルギーの前記ビーム経路上で前記第1の表面と音響的に結合された少なくとも1つの超音波レンズと、
を備え、前記少なくとも1つの超音波レンズの減衰が、前記組織アブレーション装置の動作時における前記少なくとも1つの超音波レンズの熱損傷を防止するのに十分な低さである、装置。 - 前記少なくとも1つの超音波エミッタ及び前記少なくとも1つの超音波レンズの少なくとも一方に少なくとも1つの切込み溝をさらに備え、前記少なくとも1つの切込み溝が、前記複数のトランスデューサの動作中に前記少なくとも1つの超音波エミッタと前記少なくとも1つの超音波レンズとの間に生じる熱膨張の不整合による応力を緩和するよう働く、請求項5に記載の装置。
- 少なくとも1つのヒートシンクをさらに備え、前記少なくとも1つのヒートシンクが、前記複数のトランスデューサにおける熱勾配及びピーク温度の少なくとも一方を緩和するように働く、請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つの超音波エミッタと前記少なくとも1つの超音波レンズとの間に配置された少なくとも1つの音響整合層をさらに備え、前記少なくとも1つの超音波エミッタと前記少なくとも1つの超音波レンズとが、前記少なくとも1つの音響整合層を挟んで音響的に結合され、及び、前記少なくとも1つの音響整合層が、前記複数のトランスデューサの動作中に前記少なくとも1つの超音波エミッタと前記少なくとも1つの超音波レンズとの間に生じる熱膨張の不整合による応力を緩和するように働く、請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記複数のトランスデューサのうちの隣接するものによって放射されるエネルギーが重なり合うように、前記少なくとも1つの超音波レンズが前記高強度超音波エネルギーを少なくとも1つの方向に拡散させる、請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記複数のトランスデューサが、肺静脈の少なくとも一部分の周りを包み込むように配置される、請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記高強度超音波エネルギーの周波数が約2MHz〜約7MHzであり、出力が約80W〜約150Wである、請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記周波数が約3.5MHzであり、前記出力が約130Wである、請求項11に記載の装置。
- 前記高強度超音波エネルギーの周波数が約2MHz〜約14MHzであり、出力が約20W〜約80Wである、請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記周波数が約6MHzであり、前記出力が約60Wである、請求項13に記載の装置。
- 前記高強度超音波エネルギーの周波数が約3MHz〜約16MHzであり、出力が約2W〜約20Wである、請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記周波数が約6MHzであり、前記出力が約15Wである、請求項15に記載の装置。
- 複数のトランスデューサを備える高密度焦点式超音波組織アブレーション装置であって、前記複数のトランスデューサの少なくとも一部が、
単調曲線状の第1の表面を有する少なくとも1つの超音波エミッタであって、前記第1の表面からビーム経路に沿って伝播し、前記ビーム経路内の1つ又は複数の場所で少なくとも約1000W/cm2の出力密度を有する超音波エネルギーを発生する少なくとも1つの超音波エミッタと、
少なくとも1つの超音波レンズが、前記第1の超音波エミッタから伝播する前記超音波エネルギーを少なくとも1つの方向に指向させることができ、それによって前記超音波エネルギーが焼灼対象の組織に送波されるように、前記第1の表面から伝播する前記超音波エネルギーの前記ビーム経路上で前記第1の表面と音響的に結合された少なくとも1つの超音波レンズと、
