Description

Claims (20)
- 組織を治療する装置であって、
プローブと、
流体循環システムと、
を含み、
前記プローブは、
前記組織の直近に位置付け可能で、超音波エネルギーを放射し、超音波エネルギーを感知するように構成されたトランスジューサと、
前記トランスジューサに接続され、前記組織に対して前記トランスジューサを位置付けるように構成された位置付け部材と、
前記トランスジューサの正面の隣接エリアを含む流体経路と流体連通している、流体注入口と流体排出口と、を含み、
前記流体循環システムは、前記プローブの前記流体注入口と前記流体排出口とに流体連通しており、前記流体循環システムは、
前記流体循環システム及び前記プローブの前記流体経路全体にわたって流体を循環させるように構成されたポンプと、
前記流体の温度を下げるように構成された冷却装置と、
前記流体より溶存ガスを除去するように構成された脱気装置(degasser)と、
流体貯蔵部を含み、追加流体を前記流体循環システムに追加し、且つ前記流体循環システムより流体を除去するように構成された流体調整部材と、
を含む、
組織を治療する装置。 - 前記流体循環システムは、さらに、前記流体が入る貯蔵容器を含み、前記流体調整部材は、前記貯蔵容器に流体連通している、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記流体循環システムは、第1の流体回路と第2の流体回路とを含み、前記第2の回路中の流体は、前記貯蔵容器を通って前記第1の回路に入り、前記第1の回路中の流体は、前記貯蔵容器を通って前記第2の回路に入れるように、前記第1の流体回路は、前記プローブの流体経路と前記貯蔵容器とに流体連通し、前記第2の流体回路は、前記脱気装置と前記貯蔵容器とに流体連通している、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記ポンプは、前記第1の流体回路の一部であり、第2のポンプは、前記第2の回路の一部であり、前記第2のポンプは、前記第2の回路に前記流体を循環させる、請求項3に記載の装置。
- さらに、前記トランスジューサと前記位置付け部材とに操作可能に接続されたコントローラを含み、
前記コントローラは、前記位置付け部材で前記トランスジューサを位置付けし、かつ前記トランスジューサを、前記トランスジューサで感知される超音波エネルギーから前記組織の画像が得られる撮像モードと、複数の治療部位が前記トランスジューサによるHIFU療法で治療される治療モードで、動作させるように構成されている、請求項4に記載の装置。 - 前記ポンプ、前記第2のポンプ、及び前記真空ポンプは、それぞれが略同時に電力を供給されるように、電気的に一緒に接続される、請求項4に記載の装置。
- 前記脱気装置は、前記プローブの前記流体注入口と前記排出口とに直列に配置される、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記脱気装置は、前記流体が通過する複数の空気透過性の流体管を有するフィルターと、前記フィルターに接続される真空ポンプとを含み、前記真空ポンプは、前記空気透過性の流体管の外側の部分にかかる圧力を削減し、前記空気透過性の流体管より前記流体中の溶解空気を取り出す、請求項7に記載の装置。
- 前記流体調節部材は、注射器である、請求項8に記載の装置。
- 前記プローブは、前記トランスジューサの前記正面に隣接する前記エリアを含めて前記プローブの第1の部分を取り囲む伸張性の膜をさらに含む、請求項8に記載の装置。
- 前記位置付け部材は、前記トランスジューサを、前記プローブの長軸に沿って、かつ前記プローブの長軸の周りに回転的に位置付し、前記伸張性の膜は、前記トランスジューサを、前記長軸に直交する方向に沿って前記組織に対して位置付ける、請求項10に記載の装置。
- さらに、前記トランスジューサと前記位置付け部材とに操作可能に接続されたコントローラを含み、
前記コントローラは、前記位置付け部材で前記トランスジューサを位置付けし、かつ前記トランスジューサを、前記トランスジューサで感知される超音波エネルギーから前記組織の画像が得られる撮像モードと、複数の治療部位が前記トランスジューサによるHIFU療法で治療される治療モードで、動作させるように構成されている、請求項11に記載の装置。 - 前記ポンプ、及び前記真空ポンプは、それぞれが略同時に電力を供給されるように、電気的に一緒に接続される、請求項11に記載の装置。
- 前記流体調節部材は、注射器である、請求項4に記載の装置。
- 経直腸プローブを有するHIFUシステムを準備し、患者の前立腺領域に治療を提供する方法であって、前記経直腸プローブは、治療用トランスジューサの正面の隣接エリアを含む流体経路を含み、
前記方法は、
前記経直腸プローブの前記流体経路に流体連通している流体循環システムを設けるステップと、
真空ポンプとポンプとを電気的に接続し、各々が略同時に電力を供給されるステップと、
を備え、
前記流体循環システムは、流体循環システムと前記経直腸プローブの前記流体経路とに亘って流体を循環させるように構成された前記ポンプと、自身を通過する前記流体より溶存ガスを除去するように構成された、前記真空ポンプを含む脱気装置とを含む、HIFUシステムを準備する方法。 - 前記流体は、前記流体循環システムに導入される時には、非脱ガスの流体である、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記流体は、水道水である、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記真空ポンプと前記ポンプとに電力を供給後、前記流体が約3ppm未満のレベルまで脱ガスされるのに少なくとも十分な時間待つステップと、
HIFU治療を提供するために、前記経直腸プローブを前記患者の前立腺に対して位置付けるステップと、
前記患者の前記前立腺を撮像するステップと、
前記HIFUシステムで、前記HIFU治療を提供するステップと、
をさらに含む、請求項16に記載の方法。 - 患者の直腸内の位置より前立腺を治療する装置であって、
前記装置は、
プローブの少なくとも一部を覆う伸張性の音響膜と、前記伸張性の音響膜の背後に配置され、超音波エネルギーを放射し超音波エネルギーを感知するように構成されているトランスジューサと、を含む経直腸プローブと、
前記トランスジューサに操作可能に接続され、前記トランスジューサを、前記トランスジューサで感知される超音波エネルギーから前記組織の少なくとも1つの画像が得られる撮像モードと、複数の治療部位が前記トランスジューサによるHIFU療法で治療される治療モードで、動作させるように構成されているコントローラと、
前記トランスジューサと前記音響膜との間にあるトランスジューサの正面に隣接するエリアを含む流体経路に、流体連通している流体循環システムと、
を含み、
前記流体循環システムは、
前記流体循環システムと前記プローブの前記流体経路全体に亘って流体を循環させるように構成されたポンプと、
前記流体の温度を下げるように構成された冷却装置と、
真空ポンプを含み、前記流体より溶存ガスを除去するように構成された脱気装置と、
流体貯蔵部を含み、前記流体循環システムより流体を除去しかつ追加流体を前記流体循環システムに加えるように構成された流体調節部材と、
を含み、
前記追加流体の第1の部分は、前記プローブが患者の直腸に配置される時、前記流体に導入され、前記伸張性の音響膜を膨張させ、前記患者の直腸に接触し、前記追加流体の第2の部分は、前記流体に導入され、さらに前記伸張性の音響膜を膨張させ、前記経直腸プローブの長軸に略直交する方向に、前記トランスジューサを前記患者の前立腺に対して位置付ける、
前記患者の直腸内の位置より前立腺を治療する装置。 - 前記脱気装置は、前記流体が通過する空気透過性の複数の流体管を有するフィルターを含み、
前記真空ポンプは、前記空気透過性の流体管の外側部分に加わる圧力を削減し、それによって、前記空気透過性の流体管より、前記流体内の溶解空気を取り出す、請求項19に記載の装置。
