Abstract
【解決手段】本発明の有機電界発光表示装置は、走査線に走査信号を順次供給するための走査駆動部と、データ線に前記走査信号が供給される期間のうち、第1期間に初期電源を供給し、前記第1期間を除いた第2期間にデータ信号を供給するためのデータ駆動部と、前記走査線及びデータ線の交差部に位置する画素とを備え、i(iは自然数)番目の水平ラインに位置する前記画素は、有機発光ダイオードと、第1トランジスタと、第2トランジスタと、第3トランジスタと、第4トランジスタと、第1キャパシタとを備える。

Claims (11)
- 走査線に走査信号を順次供給するための走査駆動部と、
データ線に前記走査信号が供給される期間のうち、第1期間に初期電源を供給し、前記第1期間を除いた第2期間にデータ信号を供給するためのデータ駆動部と、
前記走査線及びデータ線の交差部に位置する画素と、
を備え、
i(iは自然数)番目の水平ラインに位置する前記画素は、
カソード電極が第2電源と接続される有機発光ダイオードと、
第1電源から前記有機発光ダイオードを経由して前記第2電源に流れる電流量を制御する第1トランジスタと、
前記データ線及びi番目の走査線に接続され、前記i番目の走査線に前記走査信号が供給される時にターンオンされる第2トランジスタと、
前記第1トランジスタのゲート電極と接続される第1ノードと前記第2トランジスタとの間に接続され、前記第2トランジスタがターンオンされる時にターンオフ状態に設定される第3トランジスタと、
前記第1ノードと基準電源との間に接続され、前記i番目の走査線に走査信号が供給される時にターンオンされる第4トランジスタと、
前記第3トランジスタ及び第2トランジスタの共通ノードである第2ノードと前記有機発光ダイオードのアノード電極との間に接続される第1キャパシタと、
を備えることを特徴とする有機電界発光表示装置。 - 前記データ信号の電圧は前記基準電源の電圧と同一であるか、高い電圧に設定されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記初期電源の電圧は前記データ信号の電圧よりも高い電圧に設定されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記第1ノードと前記第2ノードとの間に前記第3トランジスタと並列に接続される第2キャパシタを更に備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記第3トランジスタは、i+1番目の走査線に走査信号が供給される時にターンオンされることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記走査駆動部は、前記走査線と平行に位置する発光制御線に発光制御信号を順次供給することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- i番目の発光制御線に供給される発光制御信号は前記i番目の走査線に供給される走査信号と重なり、トランジスタがターンオフされ得る電圧に設定されることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記第3トランジスタのゲート電極は、前記i番目の発光制御線と接続されることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 有機発光ダイオードのアノード電極に電流を供給するための駆動トランジスタと、第1端子が前記有機発光ダイオードのアノード電極に接続される第1キャパシタを備える有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法において、
走査信号が供給される期間に前記駆動トランジスタのゲート電極に基準電源を供給する段階と、
前記走査信号が供給される期間のうち、第1期間にデータ線を経由して前記第1キャパシタの第2端子に初期電源を供給する段階と、
前記走査信号が供給される期間のうち、第1期間を除いた第2期間に前記データ線を経由して前記第1キャパシタの第2端子にデータ信号を供給して前記有機発光ダイオードのアノード電極の電圧を前記基準電源から前記駆動トランジスタの閾値電圧を差し引いた値に設定する段階と、
前記駆動トランジスタのゲート電極と前記第1キャパシタの第2端子を電気的に接続させて前記有機発光ダイオードに電流を供給する段階と、
を含むことを特徴とする有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記データ信号の電圧は前記基準電源の電圧と同一であるか、高い電圧に設定されることを特徴とする請求項9に記載の有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。
- 前記初期電源の電圧は前記データ信号の電圧よりも高い電圧に設定されることを特徴とする請求項9に記載の有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。
