Abstract

Description
ネットワーク20はFDM法を用いて、接続する各作業区域に対して典型的に(図2の23a及び23bのような)2個のモデムを必要とする。そのようなモデムは複雑で費用がかかる。さらに、典型的な電話線は、低周波(電話)信号のみを伝送するように設計された低質伝送により、データ・レートとデータ通信距離の両方により制限されている。
上記バンドルの端部に接続するための第一の接続部、
少なくとも1台のデジタル装置に接続するための第二の接続部、
少なくとも1台の電話装置に接続するためにの第三の接続部、から成り、
上記バンドル内の導体の各ペアの両端に上記第一の接続部のそれぞれのひとつにより接続された2個の上記回路(32a、32b)が、協力して少なくとも1個の仮想チャンネルを形成し、バンドルの両端で、上記回路のそれぞれのひとつの第二の接続部にそれぞれ接続した各デジタル装置の間でのデジタル通信と同時に第三の接続部のそれぞれのひとつを介してその両端に接続された各電話装置の間で電話通信を行えるようにしたことを特徴としている。
(a)一次巻き線の各端部がケーブルの各導体に接続されていて、ケーブルの第一の端部にセンター・タップ付き一次巻き線を有する第一のペアの信号変換器を挿入すること、及び、
(b)一次巻き線の各端部がケーブルの各導体に接続されていて、ケーブルの第二の端部にセンター・タップ付き一次巻き線を有する第二のペアの信号変換器を挿入すること、
から成っている。

Claims (26)
- 建物内において少なくとも第1および第2撚り線対を持つローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・ケーブルに情報装置およびデジタルデータ装置を結合するための回路であるとともに、全二重パケットベースデジタルデータ信号および情報信号を同時に伝送するための回路であって、
前記ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・ケーブルに接続可能な第1ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・コネクターと、
前記全二重パケットベースデジタルデータ信号を前記デジタルデータ装置に入出力するために、前記デジタルデータ装置に接続可能な第2ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・コネクターと、
前記情報信号を前記情報装置に入出力するために、前記情報装置に接続可能な情報ポートと
を有し、
前記第1および第2撚り線対のそれぞれは、パケットベースデジタルデータ信号を伝送するように構成されており、
前記少なくとも2つの撚り線対は、前記情報信号を伝送する動作をするように協力して仮想チャンネルを形成することを特徴とする回路。 - センター・タップ接続部を有する一次巻き線と二次巻き線とを有する第1信号変換器であって、前記第1ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・コネクターと前記第2ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・コネクターとの間に接続されている第1信号変換器と、
センター・タップ接続部を有する一次巻き線と二次巻き線とを有する第2信号変換器であって、前記第1ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・コネクターと前記第2ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・コネクターとの間に接続されている第2信号変換器と
をさらに有し、
前記第1信号変換器は、前記ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・パケットベースデジタルデータ信号を通すように動作し、
前記第2信号変換器は、前記ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・パケットベースデジタルデータ信号を通すように動作し、
前記第1および第2信号変換器の前記センタ−・タップ接続部は、前記情報ポートに接続されている、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の回路。 - 前記第1および第2ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・コネクターは、RJ−45タイプであり、
前記ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・パケットベースデジタルデータ信号は、IEEE802.3規格に適合した10BaseT又は100BaseTに準拠した信号である、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の回路。 - アウトレットの外形寸法を持っている、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の回路。
- アウトレットのためのプラグイン形として構成された、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の回路。
- 建物の表面に取付可能に構成されている、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の回路。
- 前記情報信号はアナログ信号であり、前記情報ポートはアナログコネクターである、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の回路。
- 前記情報信号はアナログ音声信号であり、前記情報ポートはアナログ音声コネクターである、ことを特徴とする請求項7に記載の回路。
- 前記アナログ音声信号は電話信号であり、前記アナログ音声コネクターは電話コネクターである、ことを特徴とする請求項8に記載の回路。
- 直流電力信号が前記仮想チャネルに同時に伝送される、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の回路。
- 前記ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・ケーブルは、N−1の仮想チャンネルを協力して形成するN対の撚り線対を有し、Nは3以上である、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の回路。
- 前記情報信号は、前記第1ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・コネクターと前記情報ポートとの間で双方向に伝送される、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の回路。
- それぞれ請求項1に記載の回路である第1および第2回路を有するキットであって、
少なくとも2つの撚り線対を有するローカル・エリア・ネットワークを介して情報信号およびデジタルデータ信号を同時に転送するために、前記第1および第2回路の第1ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・コネクターの間を結合可能なローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・ケーブルを使用するためのキットであるとともに、
前記仮想チャネルを形成する前記撚り線対を介して、前記第1回路の情報ポートに結合可能な第1情報装置から前記第2回路の情報ポートに結合可能な第2情報装置に情報信号を転送するためのキットであるとともに、
前記撚り線対を介して、前記第1回路の前記第2ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・コネクターに結合可能な第1デジタルデータ装置から前記第2回路の前記第2ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・コネクターに結合可能な第2デジタルデータ装置に、全二重パケットベースデジタルデータ信号を同時に伝送する、ことを特徴とするキット。 - 第1および第2デジタルデータユニットの間で全二重パケットベースデジタルデータ信号を伝送し、同時に、第1および第2情報ユニットの間で情報信号を伝送する、建物内のローカル・エリア・ネットワークであって、
前記ネットワークは、
第1および第2端部を有するとともに、少なくとも2つの撚り線対を有して、少なくとも一部が前記建物の壁の中に配置されるとともに、アウトレットを介してアクセスされるローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・ケーブルと、
前記ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・ケーブルの第1端部に接続された第1装置と、
前記ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・ケーブルの第2端部に接続された第2装置と
を有し、
前記ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・ケーブルのそれぞれの撚り線対は、前記パケットベースデジタルデータ信号を伝送するものであるとともに、同時に、前記少なくとも2つの撚り線対は、前記情報信号を伝送する動作をする仮想チャンネルを協力して形成するものであり、
前記第1装置は、前記パケットベースデジタルデータ信号を前記第1デジタルデータユニットに供給するために、前記第1デジタルデータユニットに結合可能であるとともに、前記情報信号を前記第1情報ユニットに供給するために、前記第1情報ユニットにさらに結合可能であり、
前記第2装置は、前記パケットベースデジタルデータ信号を前記第2デジタルデータユニットに供給するために、前記第2デジタルデータユニットに結合可能であるとともに、前記情報信号を前記第2情報ユニットに供給するために、前記第2情報ユニットにさらに結合可能である、ことを特徴とするネットワーク。 - 前記第1および第2装置の少なくとも一つは、
センター・タップ接続部を有する一次巻き線と二次巻き線とを持つ第1信号変換器であって、前記ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・ケーブルと前記デジタルデータユニットとの間に接続されている第1信号変換器と、
センター・タップ接続部を有する一次巻き線と二次巻き線とを持つ第2信号変換器であって、前記ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・ケーブルと前記デジタルデータユニットとの間に接続されている第2信号変換器と
を有し、
前記第1信号変換器は、前記ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・パケットベースデジタルデータ信号を通すように動作し、
前記第2信号変換器は、前記ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・パケットベースデジタルデータ信号を通すように動作し、
前記第1および第2信号変換器のセンター・タップ接続部は、前記情報ユニットに接続されている、ことを特徴とする請求項14に記載のネットワーク。 - 前記第1および第2装置は、RJ−45タイプのコネクターを介して前記ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・ケーブルに接続されており、
前記ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・パケットベースデジタルデータ信号は、IEEE802.3規格に適合した10BaseT又は100BaseTに準拠した信号である、ことを特徴とする請求項14に記載のネットワーク。 - 前記第1および第2装置の少なくとも一つは、アウトレットの外形寸法を持っている、ことを特徴とする請求項14に記載のネットワーク。
- 前記第1および第2装置の少なくとも一つは、アウトレットのためのプラグイン形として構成されている、ことを特徴とする請求項14に記載のネットワーク。

- 前記アナログ音声信号は電話信号であり、前記情報ユニットの少なくとも一つはアナログ電話装置である、ことを特徴とする請求項21に記載のネットワーク。

- 前記ローカル・エリア・ネットワーク・ケーブルは、N−1の仮想チャンネルを協力して形成するN対の線対を有し、Nは3以上である、ことを特徴とする請求項14に記載のネットワーク。
