Abstract
Description

(上記式中m及びnは独立して整数1〜20であり、Rは、炭素原子数2〜20のアルキレン基、当該アリーレン鎖内炭素原子数6〜14のアリーレン基、ピラン基、又はフラン基であり、そしてXは−OH又は−NYZであり、Y及びZは独立して水素又はアルキル基である);又は
(2)糖、糖誘導体、ポリアルキレングリコール、又はグリセロール化合物;又は
(3)N−メチルピロリドン、ピロリドン、カプロラクタム、N−メチルカプロラクタム、ジメチルスルホキシド、又はN−オクチルピロリドンから成る群から選択された化合物;又は
(4)上記のものの組合わせ
である。
図7は、5線式タッチスクリーンに適用されるものとして、またこれから派生された7線又は9線式変更形(図示せず)にも適用可能な本発明のスイッチング形態の実施形を示している。図3と比較して、デバイス側電極の各コーナーは、スイッチング・デバイス313及び論理信号C及びDを付加することにより正の電源又は地面への独立して選択的な経路を備えており、文字の表示は、4位置検出モード、及び前例の説明と同様の、関連する電圧勾配方向を示す。各スイッチング・デバイスは、検出モードのうちの2モードにおいて導電性、又はONであり、ひいては制御信号は、制御ゲートに印加されるOR論理を用いて示される。
大型導電性ウェブからカットされた8mm幅×38mm長の試料を、図8に示されているように電極固定具内に装入することにより、導電性塗膜の直列抵抗を評価した。試料を、フェノール樹脂固定ベース403上に、導電側401を上にして置き、選択された材料から成る2つの畝付き電極404によってクランプした。これらの電極はそれぞれ、試料を横切って平行線コンタクトを提供する2つの半円筒形の下面を有した。導体試料のいずれかの側で小ねじによって、電極を固定ベースに向かって引っ張った(図示せず)。可撓性銅リード線によって、Keithley Model 2400 Source-Meter 405を2線式抵抗形態の電極に接続した。試料抵抗をモニタリングして記録しながら、電源電圧及び/又は電流が予め定義された試験プロトコルに従って修正されるのをコンピュータ・インターフェイス(図示せず)が可能にした。瞬間電流の絶対値を数値積分することにより、導体を通る総電荷移動を見いだした。
図10は、同様の初期シート抵抗を有し、そして同じ一方向電圧勾配下で試験されたPEDOT塗布基板のコンダクタンスを示す。コンダクタンスは、これらの駆動条件下で不所望に減少することが明らかである。
図11は、一定の1ボルト差が印加された、図10におけるのと同じ組成から成るPEDOT塗布基板の電荷移動の関数としてのコンダクタンスを示す。電流(すなわち:電荷移動の時間速度)がオームの法則に従って減少するものの、プロットされたデータの勾配によって示されているような劣化速度は、より高い電圧の事例とほぼ同じである。このように、導体寿命のいかなる改善も、より低い電流フローの結果にすぎない。崩壊と関連する電気化学的故障メカニズムが回避されているという証拠はない。
図12は、米国特許出願公開第2006/0274049号明細書に教示されているように、カーボンナノチューブ上塗り層を有するチオフェン含有ポリマーから成る多層導電性構造の総電荷移動の関数としてのコンダクタンスを示す。導電性構造に、5ボルト差によって形成された一方向電圧勾配を施した。コンダクタンスは、これらの駆動条件下で望ましくなく減少することが明らかである。
図13は、比較例2と同じ組成から成るPEDOT塗布基板の総電荷移動の関数としてのコンダクタンスを示しており、PEDOT塗布基板には、1秒当たり一回の割合で逆転される5ボルト差によって形成された双方向電圧勾配を施した。観察されたコンダクタンスは、同様の材料から成る比較例と比較すると実質的により安定であり、また、試験継続時間全体にわたってITOの性能に匹敵する。
図14は、比較例2と同じ組成から成るPEDOT塗布基板の総電荷移動の関数としてのコンダクタンスを示しており、PEDOT塗布基板には、1秒当たり一回の割合で逆転される10ボルト差によって形成された双方向電圧勾配を施した。観察されたコンダクタンス対電荷性能は、より低い電圧差下にある前の例における同じ材料から成る比較例に匹敵し、このように、デバイス寿命を長くするために、低減されたRMS駆動電圧を使用することの必要性をなくするときの、本発明の効果を示す。
図15は、米国特許出願公開第2006/0274049号明細書に教示されているような多層導電性構造の総電荷移動の関数としてのコンダクタンスを示しており、多層導電性構造には、1秒当たり一回の割合で逆転される5ボルト差によって形成された双方向電圧勾配を施した。観察されたコンダクタンスは、同様の材料から成る比較例と比較すると実質的により安定であり、また、試験継続時間全体にわたってITOの性能に匹敵する。

- 導電性ポリマーを用意し、直流電流を前記ポリマーに通し、そして有機ポリマー導体内の電圧勾配を逆転させることを含んで成るデバイス内の導電性ポリマーの寿命を長くする方法。
- 前記導電性ポリマーが、ポリエチレンジオキシチオフェンを含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記導電性ポリマーが、チオフェン含有ポリマーを含む請求項1に記載の方法。
