Description
本発明は、リン酸塩を含む、改良された二酸化塩素溶液又は液混合物(液体混合物)に関し、及び二酸化塩素とリン酸塩混合物を形成するための組成物に関する。この改良された二酸化塩素溶液は、金属の腐食を防止する一方で、洗浄及び/又は消毒するのに使用される。二酸化塩素溶液の腐食特性は、組成物にリン酸塩を加えることによって低減される。
図1は、表5に示したデータのグラフで、溶液中リン酸塩の塩素種に対する質量比(質量割合)と、(リン酸塩濃度のための)平均腐食ポテンシャルとの関係を示したグラフである。
本発明は、リン酸塩(ホスフェイト:phosphate)を含む、改良された洗浄及び/又は消毒(清浄)二酸化塩素溶液混合物又は溶液(「液混合物」又は「溶液」)に関し、そしてリン酸塩を含む、改良された二酸化塩素液混合物を形成するための組成物(「形成組成物」)に関する。本発明の二酸化塩素を含むリン酸塩は、従来技術の二酸化塩素溶液と比較して、低腐食性である(すなわち、腐食性が低減されている)。従来技術の酸性二酸化塩素溶液は、高濃度(>10ppm)で長期間にわたり使用された場合、又は短時間で繰り返して使用した場合には、腐食性になることが知られている。ここで、二酸化塩素溶液中にリン酸塩が存在すると、金属の腐食が防止される。特に、従来技術の溶液の腐食性は、そのpHが低いと腐食するもの(腐食性が高いもの)になる。
タブレットの形成:
タブレット処方物の個々の化学成分を使用の前に乾燥させた。各成分の所望の量をプラスチックのバイアル瓶に注意深く計量導入した。以下の実施例で、処方物はこのベースの質量で与えられる。タブレットの処方物の全ての成分を含んでいるバイアル瓶を振って、成分を完全に混合した。バイアル瓶の内容物を適当なサイズのダイ(例えば、1gのタブレットのために13mmの直径)に移した。プランジャーをダイ中に置き、そして水力の実験室プレスを使用して、内容物をペレットに圧縮(プレス)した。プレスゲージで読み取って、最大力は(他に記載がなければ)2000ポンドであった。プランジャーの力の面積がインチ2としてわかっている場合には(代表例では、1gタブレットのために0.206インチ2)、タブレットパンチにおけるこの力は、ポンド/インチ2に変換されて良い。得られたタブレットは、ダイから除去され、そして使用されるまで(代表例では10分以内)、閉鎖したプラスチックのバイアル瓶中に置かれる。
タブレットを、水道水で満たした容積測定のフラスコ又は容器に導入した。二酸化塩素の放出が直ちに開始されたが、このことは、バブルの発生と黄色への変色によって明らかであった。タブレットは完了するまで反応された。反応の完了は、部分的にタブレットタイプとサイズに依存する。1gのタブレットが部分的に不溶性である場合には、反応時間は(典型例では)2時間以下であり、タブレットが完全に溶解性の場合には、0.5時間である。反応が完了したときに、内容物を混合するために、フラスコ/容器を振るか又は攪拌した。次に内容物を分析した。代表例では、二酸化塩素を、UV−Vis分光分析によって、4種類の波長を使って、二酸化塩素を測定した(平均値が記載されている)。典型的には、25mlの二酸化塩素溶液の滴定によって、文献Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater, 19th Edition(1995) 4−57頁及び4−58頁に記載されたものに対応する手順で、亜塩素酸塩と塩素を測定した。この文献は、American Public Health Association, The American Water Works Association及びthe Water Environment Federationによって共同で出版されている。出版社は、American Public Health Association, Washington,D.C.20005である。白金電極を備えたBrinkmann Autotitration System,716 DMS Titrino(Brinkmann Part No.6.0415.100)を使用し、酸化剤の合計を、滴定によって測定した。この方法は、ヨウ化物のヨウ素への酸化及び次の滴定剤、チオ硫酸ナトリウムとの反応に基づいた、酸性媒体におけるヨウ素滴定である。代表的な手順を以下に示す。100ミリリットルの二酸化塩素溶液及び攪拌棒をビーカー中に配置し、そして2gのヨウ化カリウム(Reagent Crystals)及び10mlの硫酸の1N溶液(Mallinckrodt)を攪拌させながら加えた。得られた溶液を0.1Nのチオ硫酸塩(Aldrich chemical Co.)で滴定した。Brinlmann Titrino softwareを使用して、終了点を自動的に決定した。この終了点を、試料中の合計酸化剤の濃度を計算するのに使用した。最初(オリジナル)の二酸化塩素溶液のpHを、「その状態の」容器及び/又は(二酸化塩素の濃度が約10ppmになる)十分な水での希釈状態で、pH電極を使用して測定した。
タブレット処方物が、以下の表に従って作成された。表1に、タブレットのための成分を示す。このタブレットは、亜塩素酸ナトリウム等の亜塩素酸金属塩、ジクロイソシアヌル酸のナトリウム塩等のハロゲン、重硫酸ナトリウムである、水素リン酸塩以外の酸、及びナトリウム二水素リン酸塩であるリン酸塩からなる。亜塩素酸金属塩、酸及びリン酸塩からなる第2のタブレットが、表3に示されている。
U.S.Patent6,699,404の実施例5の処方の1.5グラムのタブレットを1個、600mlの脱イオン水中に溶解させることによって4セットの溶液を製造した。各溶液に、210mgの重炭酸ナトリウム(NaHCO3)を加えた。379mgと758mgのナトリウム二水素リン酸塩(NaH2PO4)を第3と第4の溶液にそれぞれ加えた。第3と第4の溶液は、公称で(nominally)500ppmと1000ppmのリン酸塩をそれぞれもたらした。
異なる濃度のリン酸塩とラウリル硫酸塩を200ppmの二酸化塩素溶液に加え、そして実施例2に記載されたように、腐食ポテンシャルを測定した。データを最小二乗法を使用して、回帰方程式にあわせた。図2は、二酸化塩素溶液中のリン酸塩とラウリル硫酸の異なる濃度の(回帰方程式から得られた)腐食ポテンシャルを、グラフの曲線として示している。図2によれば、ラウリル硫酸は、有効な効果をほとんど有しておらず(すなわち、腐食ポテンシャルは変化しない)、界面活性剤は、それ自身は、ほとんど効果を有さず、そして、リン酸塩が単独で、腐食ポテンシャルを約0.6から約0.7ボルトに増加させている。しかしながら、界面活性剤がリン酸塩と組み合わされた場合には、2種類の個々の効果を合わせたよりも、かなり大きな積極的な効果が存在する。1000ppmのラウリル硫酸と1000ppmのリン酸塩の組合せは、腐食ポテンシャルを約1.2ボルトに増加させる、この値は、水の腐食ポテンシャルに近いものである。
表6に示したように、乾燥した粉状成分を使用してタブレットを製造した。表7に示したように、各乾燥成分の特定の質量を、琥珀色のガラス瓶中で結合し、瓶をシールし、そして粉を1時間回転させることによって混合した。直径が13mmのステンレス鋼ダイ中に公称1gの粉を置き、そして水力プレスを使用して2000lbの力で粉を圧縮し、これにより粉からタブレットをプレス(成形)した。
Claims (20)
- (a)亜塩素酸金属塩;
(b)前記亜塩素酸金属塩と酸供給源とを反応させて、水中で二酸化塩素を形成し、そして二酸化塩素混合物を形成させるための当該酸供給源;及び
(c)前記二酸化塩素液混合物の腐食性を低減するために有効な量のリン酸塩(但し、前記酸供給源が酸性リン酸塩の場合、この酸性リン酸塩は、亜塩素酸金属塩と反応して二酸化塩素を形成すると共に、前記有効な量を供給するのに十分な量で存在する。)、
を含むことを特徴とする二酸化塩素液混合物を製造するために使用される二酸化塩素形成混合物。 - 前記酸供給源が、リン酸又はその塩以外のものであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の混合物。
- 前記酸供給源が重硫酸ナトリウムであることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の混合物。
- リン酸塩が、リン酸アニオン、錯体リン酸アニオン、及び有機エステルを含むリン酸塩から成る群から選ばれることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の混合物。
- リン酸塩がリン酸アニオンであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の混合物。
- リン酸塩が、リン酸二水素ナトリウム塩であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の混合物。
- 前記二酸化塩素液混合物中のリン酸塩の塩素に対する質量比が、0.4を超えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の混合物。
- 更に、遊離ハロゲン供給源を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の混合物。
- 更に界面活性剤を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の混合物。
- 二酸化塩素形成混合物が固体の状態であり、リン酸塩が前記固体中に約10〜60質量%の量で存在することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の混合物。
- 二酸化塩素形成混合物が、少なくとも一部が膜で構成されている筐体内に含まれることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の混合物。
- 水中の二酸化塩素、及び液混合物の腐食性低減に有効な量のリン酸塩、任意に遊離ハロゲン供給源及び任意に界面活性剤を含むことを特徴とする二酸化塩素液混合物。
- リン酸塩が、前記液混合物の約0.1ppm〜95%の範囲で存在することを特徴とする請求項12に記載の液混合物。
- リン酸塩が、前記液混合物の約15%〜95%の範囲で存在することを特徴とする請求項13に記載の液混合物。
- pHが、約2.5を超え12.5未満であることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の液混合物。
- pHが、約3.5を超え12.5未満であることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の液混合物。
- 金属性物体を請求項12に記載の液混合物に接触させる工程を含むことを特徴とする金属性物体を洗浄及び消毒する方法。
- 液混合物が、二酸化塩素生成成分を含む固体物から形成され、前記固体物が、任意に前記リン酸塩を含むことを特徴とする請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記リン酸塩を、前記固体とは別に、前記液混合物中に水溶液として供給することを特徴とする請求項18に記載の方法。
- 液混合物が、少なくとも一部が膜で構成されている筐体内に導入された状態の二酸化塩素生成成分によって形成され、そしてこの液混合物は、二酸化塩素生成成分を含む筐体を、水溶液内に導入することによって形成され、前記リン酸塩は前記筐体に供給されるか、又は別のリン酸塩水溶液として供給されることを特徴とする請求項17に記載の方法。
