Description

別の欠点として、超音波センサでは、超音波を反射してセンサに返すのに適した標的がセンサと標的間の距離を測定するために必要である。かかる標的が存在しない場合、超音波が正常に反射されず、よって距離を正確に測定できなくなる。このように、超音波センサの正常な作動のためには標的領域が存在しなければならない。しかしながら、大きな問題となり得ることに、製品の設計制約により標的領域を含む可能性が制限される。これもまた超音波センサを搭載した従来製品が抱える問題なことであるが、既存製品は適当な標的領域を有さない。
