Abstract
本発明は、反応器中で炭化水素及び酸素含有ガスを触媒床と少なくとも10,000h-1の空間速度で接触させる方法に関し、上記方法は、
a)少なくとも触媒床が保持されているセクションにおいて反応器が多角形の断面を有し、
b)触媒床が多角形のタイルの形態の、2以上の触媒層で構成され、前記タイルが少なくとも4辺を有し、
c)各触媒層が、少なくとも4個のタイルを含み、前記タイルが互いに平面充填して当該層を形成し、
d)2個のタイルが1つの層の中で接する端が、2個のタイルが隣接している層の中で接する端と並ばない、
ことを特徴とする。
Description
a)少なくとも触媒床が保持されている部分において反応器が多角形の断面を有し、
b)触媒床が多角形のタイルの形態の2以上の触媒層で構成され、前記タイルが少なくとも4辺を有し、
c)各触媒層が、少なくとも4個のタイルを含み、前記タイルが互いに平面充填して当該層を形成し、
d)2個のタイルが1つの層の中で接する端が、2個のタイルが隣接している層の中で接する端と一直線に並ばない、
ことに特徴がある。
本明細書で使用する「平面充填する」という語は、多角形の断面を有する形の完全な層を形成するように互いに組み合わせることを意味する。層は「完全な」と記載されているが、タイルの間にそれらの形の不完全さによる間隙が存在しても良いことに留意されたい。
従って、反応器(触媒床)の断面が増加(反応器のスケールの増加)するのに従い、より多くのタイルを利用する必要がある。好ましくは、少なくとも1層当たり8個のタイル、例えば12個以上のタイルが提供される。
好ましくは、各タイルは0.05m2未満、より好ましくは0.02m2の表面積を有する。各タイルの最小表面積は少なくとも0.0006m2、例えば少なくとも0.0006m2である。好ましくは、各タイルは0.002〜0.01m2の範囲の表面積を有する。より薄いタイルが使用されるが、典型的には各タイルは少なくとも10mm、好ましくは15mmの厚さを有する。各タイルは通常40mmまでの、好ましくは30mmまでの及び最も好ましくは20mmまでの厚さを有する。
本発明の方法は特に工業的規模における方法に有用である。「工業的規模」は方法自体に依存し、反応体/触媒床は典型的には少なくとも50ktpa(1以上の反応器が存在する場合は反応器あたり)の炭化水素、好ましくは少なくとも100ktpaの炭化水素(反応器あたり)を処理する大きさで作られる。
自己熱分解に好ましい炭化水素は少なくとも2個の炭素原子を含むパラフィン系炭化水素である。例えば、炭化水素はエタン、プロパン又はブタンのようなガス状の炭化水素またはナフタまたはFT液のような液状炭化水素である。
念のために述べると、触媒中の第VIII群金属及び促進剤は任意の形態、例えば、金属又は酸化物のような金属化合物として存在しても良い。
例えば1以上の触媒床の層は連続する層と異なる触媒金属を含んでも良い。
図1は六角形の断面を有する反応器のための層を平面充填して形成するタイルの第1層の模式図を示している。
図2は六角形の断面を有する反応器のための層を平面充填して形成するタイルの第2及び第3層の模式図を示し、前記層は第1層を120°回転させたものと等しい。
図3及び図4は六角形の反応器のための代わりのタイル配列を示す。
図5及び6は四角形の反応器のための可能なタイル配列を示す。
図中、図1は4つの台形タイルで作られた層を示し、六角形の断面を有する反応器のための層を形成する為に平面充填する。
Claims (9)
- 炭化水素及び酸素含有ガスを触媒床と少なくとも10,000h-1の空間速度で反応器中において接触させる方法であって、
a)少なくとも触媒床が保持されているセクションにおいて反応器が多角形の断面を有し、
b)触媒床が多角形のタイルの形態の、2以上の触媒層で構成され、前記タイルが少なくとも4辺を有し、
c)各触媒層が、少なくとも4個のタイルを含み、前記タイルが互いに平面充填して当該層を形成し
d)1つの層の中で2個のタイルが接する端が、隣接している層の中で2個のタイルが接する端と一直線上に並ばない、
ことを特徴とする、上記方法。 - タイルがセラミック泡状体の上に支持された触媒材料の形態である請求項1記載の方法。
- タイルが反応器壁に触れる反応器の側面において、触媒床の外側の端がバインダーレスセラミック紙のようなシーリング材で覆われる、請求項1又は請求項2記載の方法。
- 層あたり1又は2種類のみの異なるタイルの形が存在する、請求項1〜3いずれか1項の方法。
- 反応器の断面が六角形である、請求項1〜4いずれか1項記載の方法。
- メタンの触媒部分的酸化による合成ガスの製造方法である、請求項1〜5いずれか1項記載の方法。
- 炭化水素の自己熱分解によるオレフィン類の製造方法である、請求項1〜5いずれか1項記載の方法。
- 水素が同時供給される請求項7記載の方法。
- 触媒が第VIII族金属をその触媒成分として含む請求項7又は請求項8記載の方法。
