Abstract
【解決手段】リチウムイオン二次電池20は、長手方向に沿う一側に櫛状に形成された正極リード片2を有する正極と長手方向に沿う一側に櫛状に形成された負極リード片3を有する負極とがセパレータを介して捲回され、正負極リード片が互いに上下方向反対側に導出された電極群6を備え、正極リード片2の先端部が正極集電リング11の外周面に接合されており、負極リード片の先端部が負極集電リングの外周面に接合されている。また、正極集電リング11の外周部上端面から電極群6の上部に亘って正極リード片2を覆う絶縁体10を備えている。絶縁体10がガスケットと正極リード片との直接接触を妨げ正極リード片2の切断を防止できる。

Description
図1に示すように、本実施形態のリチウムイオン二次電池20は、ニッケルメッキが施されたスチール製で有底円筒状の電池缶7を有している。電池缶7内には、ポリプロピレン製で中空円筒状の軸芯1に帯状の正極板および負極板がセパレータを介して配置された電極群6が収容されている。
次に、本実施形態のリチウムイオン二次電池20の作用等について説明する。
実施例1では、絶縁体10に絶縁テープを用いてリチウムイオン二次電池20を作製した(図2(A)、(B)参照)。実施例2では、絶縁体10に絶縁性塗膜を用いてリチウムイオン二次電池20を作製した(図3参照)。なお、絶縁性塗膜は接着剤を正極リード片2の上面に均一に塗布して固化させたものである。実施例3では、絶縁体10に絶縁材の成型品を用いてリチウムイオン二次電池20を作製した。なお、絶縁材の成型品の材質をPPとした。
比較例では、絶縁体10を欠いたリチウムイオン二次電池を作製した。それ以外は、上記実施形態の電池と同じである。
上記作製した実施例1〜実施例3および比較例の電池を、6A−4.2Vの定電圧、電電流で2時間充電した後、−40℃〜80℃の温度変化を15分で制御可能な恒温層内に振動試験機を設置し、−40℃〜80℃で周囲温度を変化させながら−40℃と80℃で2時間保持させ、上下・前後・左右、各方向について10〜55Hz,[10G]、55〜60Hz,[10→30G]、60〜200Hz,[30G]で周波数を往復10分間ログスイープし、50時間の熱衝撃振動複合試験を行った。振動試験前と振動試験後の電圧を測定し、電圧変化により電池中での内部短絡の調査を行い、電圧測定後に解体調査を行った。その結果を下表1に示す。

Claims (9)
- 長手方向に沿う一側に櫛状に形成された正極リード片を有する正極と長手方向に沿う一側に櫛状に形成れた負極リード片を有する負極とがセパレータを介して捲回され、前記正負極リード片が互いに上下方向反対側に導出された電極群と、
前記電極群の端面に対向配置されるとともに、前記正極リード片の先端部が外周面に接合され、前記正極の電位を集電するリング状の正極集電部材と、
前記電極群の前記正極集電部材に対向する端面と反対側の端面に対向配置されるとともに、前記負極リード片の先端部が外周面に接合され、前記負極の電位を集電するリング状の負極集電部材と、
前記電極群および前記正負極集電部材を収容する有底電池缶と、
ガスケットを介して前記電池缶を封口する電池蓋と、
前記正負極集電部材のうち前記電極群と前記電池蓋との間に配置されたいずれか一方の集電部材の少なくとも外周面から前記電極群の上部に亘って前記いずれか一方の集電部材に接合されたリード片を覆う絶縁体と、
を備えたリチウム二次電池。 - 前記絶縁体は、前記いずれか一方の集電部材の外周部上端面から前記電極群の上部に亘って前記いずれか一方の集電部材に接合されたリード片を覆うことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 前記ガスケットは前記電極群が配置された方向に延出されたスカート部を有し、前記絶縁体は前記スカート部と前記いずれか一方の集電部材に接合されたリード片との接触を防止するように覆うことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 前記絶縁体は、前記スカート部より前記いずれか一方の集電部材に接合されたリード片のうち前記電極群の外周部から導出されたリード片に近い位置に配置されたことを特徴とする請求項3に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 前記絶縁体は、前記いずれか一方の集電部材と前記電極群の端面との間において、前記いずれか一方の集電部材に接合されたリード片を、テーパ状に拡径して上部側から覆うことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 前記絶縁体は、上部内周面が前記いずれか一方の集電部材の外周部上端面および外周面に当接し、下部内周面が前記電極群の外周面上部に当接し、中央部が前記いずれか一方の集電部材に接合されたリード片を覆うことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 前記絶縁体は、前記中央部が前記下部側に向かってテーパ状に拡径していることを特徴とする請求項6に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 前記いずれか一方の集電部材は、前記電極群の捲回中心となる軸芯の上端部に嵌合して固定されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 前記絶縁体は、絶縁テープ、絶縁材の成型品および絶縁性塗膜のうちのいずれかであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池。
