Abstract
【解決手段】 銀または銅のハロゲン化物を沈澱させることのできるハロゲン化物を含有するガラスバッチを溶融する。溶融物をガラス製品に成形しかつ冷却する。ガラス製品の表面中に銀または銅の金属をイオン交換する。ガラス製品の表面層中に銀または銅のハロゲン化物の結晶を生成し、沈澱させるのに十分な期間に亘り、製品を高温にさらす。ガラス製品を、ガラスのアニール点よりも高い温度で応力下において伸張して、結晶を応力の方向に引き延ばす。伸張されたガラス製品を高温で還元雰囲気に露出して、銀または銅のハロゲン化物の結晶の少なくとも一部の、銀または銅の金属への還元を開始させる。

Description
1.偏光ガラス製品を製造する方法であって、
銀または銅のハロゲン化物を沈澱させることのできるハロゲン化物を含有するガラスバッチを溶融し、
溶融物をガラス製品に成形しかつ冷却し、
該ガラス製品の表面中に銀または銅の金属をイオン交換し、
該ガラス製品の表面層中に銀または銅のハロゲン化物の結晶を生成させ、沈澱させるのに十分な期間に亘り、該製品を高温にさらし、
該ガラス製品を、ガラスのアニール点よりも高い温度で応力下において伸張して、前記結晶を該応力の方向に引き延ばし、
伸張されたガラス製品を高温で還元雰囲気に露出して、前記銀または銅のハロゲン化物の結晶の少なくとも一部の、銀または銅の金属への還元を開始させる、
各工程を有してなることを特徴とする方法。
Claims (4)
- 伸張された銅または銀の金属粒子を含有する2つの外側層および銀または銅のハロゲン化物の結晶を実質的に含有しない中央層を有するガラスから構成され、前記2つの外側層に含まれる銅または銀の金属の濃度が0.1重量%より大きいことを特徴とする偏光ガラス製品。
- 前記銅または銀の金属の濃度が0.5重量%より大きいことを特徴とする請求項1記載の製品。
- 前記外側層が50マイクロメートル未満の厚さであることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の製品。
- 前記外側層が10マイクロメートル未満の厚さであることを特徴とする請求項3記載の製品。
