Abstract
【解決手段】映像を表現する複数の画素を含む画素部と、n番目のフレームに入力される映像信号が、n−1番目のフレームと同じ映像信号及びn−1番目のフレームと異なる映像信号を含み、n−1番目のフレームと異なる映像信号が書き込まれるフレームメモリと、n−1番目のフレームと同じ映像信号を格納する格納ブロックと、n−1番目のフレームと異なる映像信号を合算し、格納ブロックに格納されている映像信号を合算してフレームデータを生成する輝度制御部と、画素部に走査信号及びフレームデータの大きさに応じてパルス幅が調整される発光制御信号を伝達する走査駆動部と、フレームメモリに格納された映像信号を用いて複数のデータ信号を生成した後、画素部に伝達するデータ駆動部と、を備える有機電界発光表示装置及びその駆動方法を提供する。

Claims (8)
- 複数の走査信号、複数の発光制御信号、及び複数のデータ信号を受信して映像を表現する複数の画素を含む画素部と、
n番目のフレームに入力される映像信号が、n−1番目のフレームと同じ映像信号及びn−1番目のフレームと異なる映像信号を含み、前記n−1番目のフレームと異なる映像信号が書き込まれるフレームメモリと、
前記n−1番目のフレームと同じ映像信号を格納する格納ブロックと、
前記n−1番目のフレームと異なる映像信号を合算し、前記格納ブロックに格納されている映像信号を合算してフレームデータを生成する輝度制御部と、
前記画素部に前記走査信号及びフレームデータの大きさに応じてパルス幅が調整される前記発光制御信号を伝達する走査駆動部と、
前記フレームメモリに格納された映像信号を用いて前記複数のデータ信号を生成した後、前記画素部に伝達するデータ駆動部と、
を備えることを特徴とする有機電界発光表示装置。 - 前記輝度制御部は、
映像信号を合算するものの、前記格納ブロックに格納されている映像信号を合算して格納する第1格納部、前記格納ブロックに格納されていない領域に入力される映像信号を合算して格納する第2格納部、及び前記第1格納部及び前記第2格納部に格納された値を合算して格納する第3格納部を備えるデータ合算部と、
前記第3格納部に格納されているデータに対応して前記発光制御信号のパルス幅を格納するルックアップテーブルと、
該ルックアップテーブルに格納されている前記発光制御信号のパルス幅に対応して前記発光制御信号を制御する制御信号を生成する輝度制御駆動部と、
を備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。 - 前記発光制御信号のパルス幅により、前記画素部は、発光する時間が調整されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記格納ブロックは、チェックサムブロックであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記画素部は、一部の領域にのみ映像を表現することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- データ信号、走査信号、及び発光制御信号に対応して画像を表現する画素部を備える有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法において、
n番目のフレームにおいて表現される映像信号のうち、n−1番目のフレームと同じ映像信号を格納するステップと、
前記n番目のフレームにおいて表現される映像信号のうち、n−1番目のフレームと同じ映像信号を合算して第1フレームデータを生成するステップと、
前記n番目のフレームのうち、前記n−1番目のフレームと異なる映像信号を合算して第2フレームデータを生成するステップと、
前記第1フレームデータと前記第2フレームデータとを合算した後、合算した結果に対応して前記発光制御信号のパルス幅を調整するステップと、
を含むことを特徴とする有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記画素部は、一部の領域にのみ映像を表現することを特徴とする請求項6に記載の有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。
- n番目のフレームにおいて表現される映像信号のうち、n−1番目のフレームと同じ映像信号は、チェックサムブロックに格納されることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。
