Description
ゲートラインGLを通じて供給されるスキャンパルスによってターンオンされて、データラインDLを通じて供給されるデータ電圧をスイッチングさせるためのスイッチトランジスタS_TR1と、
スイッチトランジスタS_TR1を通じて供給されるデータ電圧を充電するためのストレージキャパシタCstと、
高電位電源電圧VDDが印加された電源段から供給される駆動電流によってターンオンされて発光する有機EL装置と、
スイッチトランジスタS_TR1を通じて供給されるデータ電圧、あるいはストレージキャパシタCstの充電電圧によってターンオンされて有機発光ダイオードOLEDを駆動させるための駆動トランジスタD_TR1とを備える。
入力されたビデオデータの駆動と、前記ピクセルに供給するリフレッシュ電圧の供給タイミングを制御するタイミングコントローラと、
1つのフレームの間に前記タイミングコントローラから出力されたデジタルデータを電圧に変換して前記ピクセルに供給した後、前記リフレッシュ電圧を前記ピクセルの中から選択されたピクセルに供給するデータ駆動部と、
前記1つのフレームの間に第1スキャンパルスを供給してデータが供給されるピクセルを選択した後、第2スキャンパルスを供給して、ピクセルの中から前記リフレッシュ電圧が供給されるピクセルを選択するゲート駆動部とを含む有機発光ダイオード表示装置を提供する。
前記1つのフレームの間に前記ゲートラインに前記第1スキャンパルスが供給された以降に第2のスキャンパルスを前記表示パネルのゲートラインに供給して、前記ピクセルの中から前記リフレッシュ電圧が供給されるピクセルを選択し、
前記第2のスキャンパルスによって選択されたピクセルに前記リフレッシュ電圧を供給する段階とを含む方法を提供する。

Claims (8)
- 有機発光ダイオードを含む複数のピクセルが形成された表示パネルと、
入力されたビデオデータの駆動と、前記ピクセルに供給するリフレッシュ電圧の供給タイミングを制御するタイミングコントローラと、
1つのフレームの間に前記タイミングコントローラから出力されたデジタルデータを正極性電圧に変換して前記ピクセルに供給した後、0Vまたは負極性電圧に設定された前記リフレッシュ電圧を前記ピクセルの中から選択されたピクセルに供給するデータ駆動部と、
前記1つのフレームの間に第1スキャンパルスを供給してデータが供給されるピクセルを選択した後、第2スキャンパルスを供給して、ピクセルの中から前記リフレッシュ電圧が供給されるピクセルを選択するゲート駆動部とを含み、
前記第2スキャンパルスは前記表示パネルの上端に形成された一部のゲートラインに供給されないことを特徴とする有機発光ダイオード表示装置。 - 前記タイミングコントローラは前記リフレッシュ電圧を発生して前記データ駆動部に印加することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機発光ダイオード表示装置。
- 電源電圧の印加を受けて、前記リフレッシュ電圧を発生するためのリフレッシュ電圧発生部を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機発光ダイオード表示装置。
- 前記タイミングコントローラは、マスク信号を前記ゲート駆動部に供給して、前記第1スキャンパルスの水平期間と前記第2スキャンパルスの水平期間を調節することを特徴とする請求項1ないし3のいずれかに記載の有機発光ダイオード表示装置。
- 前記第1スキャンパルスの水平期間と前記第2スキャンパルスの水平期間各々は1/2水平期間として同一であることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の有機発光ダイオード表示装置。
- 前記ゲート駆動部は、前記表示パネルに形成されたピクセルのうち、少なくとも1つ以上のピクセルに接続されたゲートラインに前記第2スキャンパルスを供給しないことを特徴とする請求項1ないし5のいずれかに記載の有機発光ダイオード表示装置。
- 有機発光ダイオードを含む複数のピクセルが形成された表示パネルを備える有機発光ダイオード表示装置の駆動方法において、
0Vまたは負極性電圧に設定されたリフレッシュ電圧を発生する段階と、
1つのフレームの間に第1スキャンパルスを前記表示パネルのゲートラインに供給してデータが供給される前記ピクセルを選択し、デジタルデータを正極性電圧に変換して、前記第1のスキャンパルスによって選択されたピクセルに供給する段階と、
前記1つのフレームの間に前記ゲートラインに前記第1スキャンパルス供給された以降に第2のスキャンパルスを前記表示パネルのゲートラインに供給して、前記ピクセルの中から前記リフレッシュ電圧が供給されるピクセルを選択し、
前記第2のスキャンパルスによって選択されたピクセルに前記リフレッシュ電圧を供給し、
前記第2スキャンパルスは前記表示パネルの上端に形成された一部のゲートラインに供給されないことを特徴とする段階とを含む有機発光ダイオード表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記第1のスキャンパルスの水平期間と前記第2スキャンパルスの水平期間は1/2水平期間として同一であることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の有機発光ダイオード表示装置の駆動方法。
