Claims (32)

  1. 多重チャンネル通信システムにおける多重送信チャンネル上で送信するデータを処理するための方法、該方法は下記を具備する:
    データ送信に利用可能な複数の送信チャンネルの特性を推定する;
    複数の送信チャンネルを1以上のグループの送信チャンネルに分離する、各グループは、特定の符号化及び変調方式並びにデータ送信に使用する各グループでの送信チャネルの選択に使用される特定の閾値と関連する;並びに
    各グループの送信チャンネルについて、
    推定されたチャンネル特性及び各グループに関連した特定の閾値に基づいてデータ送信に使用する1つ以上の送信チャンネルを選択し、
    規定された配分方式に従って1以上の選択された送信チャンネル間でグループに利用可能な送信パワー全体を配分し、
    各グループに関連した特定の符号化及び変調方式に従って、1以上の選択された送信チャンネルに関するデータを符号化し且つ変調し、及び
    配分された送信パワーに基づいて各選択された送信チャンネルに対する符号化され且つ変調されたデータを送信する。
  2. 各グループに利用可能な送信パワー全体が、グループにおける1以上の選択された送信チャンネルの間で近似的に等しく配分される、請求項1記載の方法。
  3. 各グループに利用可能な送信パワー全体が、グループにおける1以上の選択された送信チャンネルの間で非均一に配分される、請求項1記載の方法。
  4. より多くの量の送信パワーが、より高い送信容量を実現するために送信チャンネルへ配分される、請求項3記載の方法。
  5. 各グループにおける1以上の送信チャンネルが、規定された配分方式に従って配分された送信パワー全体を用いて実現される送信容量に基づいて選択される、請求項1記載の方法。
  6. インタリーブ方式に従って各グループに対するデータをインタリーブする、請求項1記載の方法。
  7. 各グループに対するデータが、グループにおける全ての選択された送信チャンネルに亘ってインタリーブされる、請求項6記載の方法。
  8. 各グループにおける1以上の送信チャンネルが閾値に基づいて更に選択され、及びここにおいて、各グループの閾値は該グループにおいて選択された送信チャネルスループットを最大化するように選択される、請求項1記載の方法。
  9. 各グループにおいて1つ以上の送信チャネルが閾値に基づいてさらに選択される、そして、ここにおいて、各グループに対する閾値、グループにおいて利用可能な送信チャンネルスループットを最大化するように選択される、請求項1記載の方法。
  10. 各グループにおいて1つ以上の送信チャネルが、閾値に基づいてさらに選択される、そして、ここにおいて、各グループに対する閾値が、特定の目標の受信された信号対雑音プラス干渉比(SINR)である、請求項1記載の方法。
  11. 各グループに対するデータは、該グループに対して選択された各符号化及び変調方式に基づいて符号化され及び変調され、及び、ここにおいて、各グループに対する符号化及び変調方式が、複数の可能な符号化及び変調方式の間から選択される、請求項1記載の方法。
  12. 多重チャネル通信システムが直交周波数分割変調(OFDM)システムであり、複数の送信チャンネルが複数の周波数サブチャンネルに相当する、請求項1記載の方法。
  13. 多重チャネル通信システムが多重入力多重出力(MIMO)通信システムであり、複数の送信チャンネルがMIMOチャンネルの複数の空間サブチャンネルに相当する、請求項1記載の方法。
  14. MIMO通信システムがOFDMを利用し、複数の送信チャンネルが複数の周波数サブチャンネルの複数の空間サブチャンネルに相当する、請求項13記載の方法。
  15. 各グループがそれぞれの送信アンテナに相当するとともに、複数の周波数サブチャンネルに相当する複数の送信チャンネルを含む、請求項14記載の方法。
  16. 推定されたチャンネル特性がチャンネル利得である、請求項1記載の方法。
  17. 各グループについて、特定のパワー利得閾値より大きいか、等しいパワー利得を有する送信チャンネルが選択され、且つ該パワー利得がチャンネル利得から導出される、請求項16記載の方法。
  18. 推定されたチャンネル特性が、受信された信号対雑音プラス干渉比(SINRs)である、請求項1記載の方法。
  19. 各グループについて、特定の信号対雑音プラス干渉比(SINR)閾値より大きいか、等しい信号対雑音プラス干渉比(SINR)を有する送信チャンネルが選択される、請求項18記載の方法。
  20. 多重チャネル通信システムにおけるデータ送信を制御するための方法、該方法は下記を具備する:
    複数の送信チャンネルを介して送信機からの複数の送信を受信する;
    受信された送信に基づいて複数の送信チャンネルの特性を推定する;
    推定されたチャンネル特性に基づいて対応する符号化及び変調方式並びにデータ送信に使用するための1つ以上の送信チャンネルとを選択する;
    対応する符号化及び変調方式並びに1つ以上の選択された送信チャネルを示すチャンネル状態情報(CSI)を送信機に送出する、且つここにおいて、複数の送信チャンネルのために利用可能な送信パワー全体が、規定された配分方式に従って1つ以上の選択された送信チャンネルの間で配分され、且つここにおいて、配分された送信パワーに基づいて選択された各送信チャンネルを介してデータが送信される。
  21. 規定された配分方式は、1つ以上の選択された送信チャンネルの間で送信パワー全体を均一に分配する、請求項20記載の方法。
  22. CSIは、1つ以上の選択された送信チャンネルを識別するためのチャンネルマスクを具備する、請求項26記載の方法。
  23. CSIは、1つ以上の選択された送信チャンネルのために使用される特定のデータレートを識別する、請求項20記載の方法。
  24. CSIは、以前にCSIを送出してからの変化を識別する差動表示器を具備する、請求項20記載の方法。
  25. 多重チャンネル通信システムにおいて、データ送信に使用するための複数の送信チャンネルを選択するための方法、該方法は下記を具備する:
    符号レートの組を規定する、ここで、各符号レートが送信の前にデータを符号化するために選択可能である;
    設定点の組を規定する、ここで、各設定点はそれぞれの符号レートに対応し、且つ対応する符号レートで特定レベルの性能に要求される目標の信号対雑音プラス干渉比(SINR)を表示する;
    各符号レートに関して、
    データ送信に使用可能な1つ以上の送信チャンネルを識別する、ここにおいて、
    利用可能な送信パワー全体が規定された配分方式に従って1つ以上の識別された送信チャンネルの間で分配されるとき、1つ以上の識別された送信チャンネルは符号レートに対応する設定点を実現する、及び
    1つ以上の識別された送信チャンネルと配分された送信パワーに基づいて符号レートに関する性能測定基準を決定する;
    ここで、該性能測定基準は、識別された送信チャンネルによって実現される全体的なスループットである、
    データ送信に使用するための1つ以上の該性能測定基準に従って、最高の性能を有する符号レートに関連した識別された送信チャンネルを選択する。
  26. 規定された配分方式が、識別された送信チャンネルの間で利用可能な送信パワー全体を均一に分配する、請求項25記載の方法。
  27. 多重チャンネル通信システムにおける送信機ユニット、該送信機ユニットは下記を具備する:
    データ送信に使用するために利用可能な複数の送信チャンネルに関するチャンネル状態情報(CSI)を受信するように、利用可能な送信チャンネルを1つ以上のグループに分離するように、各グループはデータ通信に使用する各グループにおいて送信チャネルを選択するために使用される特定の閾値と特定の符号化及び変調方式に関連する、且つ受信されたCSIに基づいてデータ送信に使用するために各グループにおける1つ以上の利用可能な送信チャンネルを選択するように、動作するコントローラー;並びに
    コントローラーに結合され、及び変調シンボルを与えるための特定の符号化及び変調方式に基づいて各グループに関するデータを受信し、符号化し、変調するように動作し、規定された配分方式に従ってグループにおける1つ以上の選択された送信チャンネルの間で各グループのために利用可能な送信パワー全体を分配するように動作し、且つ配分された送信パワーに基づいて選択された各送信チャンネルに関する変調シンボルを送信するように動作する、送信データプロセッサ。
  28. 規定された配分方式は、グループにおける1つ以上の選択された送信チャンネルの間で各グループのために利用可能な送信パワー全体を均一に分配する、請求項27記載の送信機。
  29. さらに、送信データプロセッサに結合され、及び変調シンボルを受信するように動作し、且つ変調シンボルを1つ以上のシンボルストリームに多重解除するように動作する送信チャンネルプロセッサを具備し、変調シンボルを送信するために使用される各アンテナ当たり1つのシンボルストリームである、請求項27に記載の送信機。
  30. 送信チャンネルプロセッサは、受信されたCSIに基づいて変調シンボルを前調整するために更に動作する、請求項29記載の送信機。
  31. 多重チャンネル通信システムにおける受信機ユニット、該受信機ユニットは下記を具備する:
    複数の送信チャンネルを介して受信された複数の送信を処理するように動作し、且つ処理された送信に基づいて複数の送信チャンネルの特性を推定するように動作する、受信データプロセッサ;
    受信データプロセッサに結合され、且つ推定されたチャンネル特性に基づいて、データ送信に使用するための1つ以上の送信チャンネルを選択するように動作するコントローラー;並びに
    コントローラーに結合され、且つ1つ以上の選択された送信チャネルを表示するところの、複数の送信チャンネルに関するチャンネル状態情報(CSI)を送信するように動作する送信データプロセッサ、及び
    ここにおいて、複数の送信チャンネルのために利用可能な送信パワー全体が、規定された配分方式に従って1つ以上の選択された送信チャンネルの間で配分され、且つここにおいて、データは配分された送信パワーに基づいて各選択された送信チャンネルを介して受信機ユニットへ送信される。
  32. 規定された配分方式は、1つ以上の選択された送信チャンネルの間で利用可能な送信パワー全体を均一に分配する、請求項31記載の受信機。
