Abstract
【解決手段】平面ディスプレイの1つである液晶ディスプレイは2枚の基板を有し、一方の基板はアクティブ開口領域34とノンアクティブ領域36とを有している。2枚の基板の間にはスペーサ層があり、スペーサ層は異方性形状と寸法を持つスペーサ54を有している。異方性形状スペーサ機能部は基板のノンアクティブ領域36内だけに形成される。スペーサ54が一方の基板上に形成された後、基板を機械的にラビングする工程を経て2枚の基板が貼り合わされ液晶ディスプレイセルが構成される。

Claims (1)
- 対向する2枚の基板の内の少なくとも一方の基板が、アクティブ開口領域とノンアクティブ領域を有し、
前記2枚の基板の間にスペーサ層が設けられた平面ディスプレイであって、
前記スペーサ層はスペーサ素子を構成する付着部とスペーサ機能部を含み、前記スペーサ機能部は異方性形状を有し、前記付着部は少なくとも前記ノンアクティブ領域の一部分を占め、かつ、前記アクティブ開口領域のほぼ外側に位置するように前記2枚の基板の少なくとも一方の基板に付着し、前記スペーサ素子によって概ね等距離だけ互いに離間した状態で前記2枚の基板が互いに貼り合わされていることを特徴とする平面ディスプレイ。
