Abstract
【解決手段】画像データを色データに変換するタイミングコントローラを備えた液晶パネル130の濃度を制御して、画像を表示するためのソースドライバ110は、ガンマ特性300に基づいてガンマ補正をするため、擬似的な線形要素単位の領域毎に分割し、その領域毎にGMA電圧を入力信号線間に設置された抵抗素子によって抵抗分割する。抵抗分割された複数のGMA電圧の変動幅に関して、濃度の視覚的な感度に合わせて、最大高濃度領域の変動幅を最大低濃度領域の変動幅よりも粗くする。濃度の視覚的な感度に合わせて設定された複数のGMA電圧の中から1つの前記駆動電圧を選択し、選択されたGMA電圧に基づき、液晶パネル130の画素の濃度を制御して液晶パネル130に画像を出力する。

Claims (3)
- 画像データを色濃度データに変換する色濃度データ変換手段を備え、マトリクス状に配列された画素の色濃度を制御して、画像を表示するための駆動回路装置であって、
入力側である前記画像データと、出力側である前記色濃度データとの関係が、非線形である場合に、擬似的に線形要素単位で複数の領域に分割し、かつ、前記色濃度の視覚的な感度に合わせて、少なくとも最大高濃度領域の分解能を最大低濃度領域の分解能よりも高くすることを特徴とする駆動回路装置。 - 画像データを色データに変換する色データ変換手段を備え、マトリクス状に配列された画素の濃度を制御して、画像を表示するための駆動回路装置であって、
前記色データと、前記色データに応じた色の階調を示す駆動電圧との関係を示す非線形な固有のガンマ特性に基づいてガンマ補正をするため、擬似的な線形要素単位の領域毎に分割する領域分割手段と、
前記領域毎に前記駆動電圧を抵抗分割する駆動電圧分割手段と、
前記駆動電圧分割手段によって抵抗分割された複数の前記駆動電圧の変動幅に関して、濃度の視覚的な感度に合わせて、少なくとも最大高濃度領域の変動幅を最大低濃度領域の変動幅よりも粗くする駆動電圧変動幅設定手段と、
前記駆動電圧分割手段によって設定された複数の前記駆動電圧の中から1つの前記駆動電圧を選択する駆動電圧選択手段と、
前記駆動電圧選択手段で選択された駆動電圧に基づいて、前記画素の濃度を制御する制御手段と、
を有する駆動回路装置。 - 前記画素固有のガンマ特性を所定のルックアップテーブルに基づいて、出力側である色データに反映させることを特徴とする請求項1又は請求項2記載の駆動回路装置。
